̸BIOGRAPHY Ale Hop crafts complex pop arrangements with an experimental noise edge, utilizing electronic effects and computer software in order to mutate and reshape her instrument and voice. Her live performances merge the physical qualities of music with raw emotional states and unorthodox instrument procedures. She builds layers of sounds by blending a complex repertoire of guitar techniques processed by synthesis devices, to create a music of deep physical intensity. She began her career in the 2000s in Lima’s experimental and underground scene. In 2012, following several years of taking part in different pop and electronic bands, she finally started her solo project after performing alone for the first time in Boiler Room, during her residence at the Red Bull Music Academy New York. Ale Hop has performed, screened and exhibited work internationally at institutions and festivals, such as CTM Festival (2022), Haus der Kulturen der Welt (2021), New York’s Museum of Arts and Design (2021), Australia Independent Film Festival (2021), Stockholm City Film Festival (2021), Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (2020), Somerset House Studios (2019), Heroines of Sound (2019), MALBA Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires (2015). ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Apophenia (Buh Records, 2019) Bodiless (Buh Records, 2018) PANGEA (Buh Records, 2015)

  • Ben Frost

̸BIOGRAPHY Composer and producer, born in Melbourne, Australia in 1980. A member of the Icelandic music collective/record label Bedroom Community, and currently based in Reykjavik, Iceland. The music of Ben Frost is about contrast; influenced as much by Classical Minimalism as by Punk Rock and Metal, Frost's throbbing guitar-based textures emerge from nothing and slowly coalesce into huge, forbidding forms that often eschew conventional structures in favor of the inevitable unfoldings of vast mechanical systems. “…The emotional power of Frost's music comes precisely from the stark contrast between extremely basic musical material and the deadly virtual instruments he invents to perform it… This is Arvo Pärt as arranged by Trent Reznor” – Wire Magazine, 2007 On albums like Steel Wound, released on the Room40 label in 2003 (Pitchfork: “An exemplary ambient experience”), Theory of Machines on Bedroom Community in 2007 (Boomkat: “The Future of electronic music…”) and 2009's BY THE THROAT (NME: “a hollow, unforgiving, brutal yet utterly beautiful record, full of deep intricacies that won’t let you go.”) Frost’s music is more than a cerebral exercise and has an undeniable visceral presence, felt as much as heard. His compositions are created with an acute awareness of the listener and their comfort thresholds, exploiting every extreme of pitch and volume. His notorious, building-shaking performances at international festivals including Montreal’s famed MUTEK combine amplified electronics with the furious thrashing of live guitars. Frost himself has been described as “one of the most interesting and groundbreaking producers in the world today” (Boomkat). His music’s intense physicality has filled gallery spaces and driven contemporary dance productions by Chunky Move, the Icelandic Dance Company, and the acclaimed choreographers Erna Ómarsdottir and Wayne McGregor. Ben recently collaborated with labelmate Daníel Bjarnason, resulting in the album SÓLARIS, released on Bedroom Community in 2011. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY SÓLARIS (2011) By The Throat (2009) Theory of Machines (2007)

  • Lonnie Holley

̸BIOGRAPHY Lonnie Holley was born on February 10, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama. From the age of five, Holley worked various jobs: picking up trash at a drive-in movie theatre, washing dishes, and cooking. He lived in a whiskey house, on the state fairgrounds, and in several foster homes. His early life was chaotic and Holley was never afforded the pleasure of a real childhood. Since 1979, Holley has devoted his life to the practice of improvisational creativity. His art and music, born out of struggle, hardship, but perhaps more importantly, out of furious curiosity and biological necessity, has manifested itself in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, performance, and sound. Holley’s sculptures are constructed from found materials in the oldest tradition of African American sculpture. Objects, already imbued with cultural and artistic metaphor, are combined into narrative sculptures that commemorate places, people, and events. His work is now in collections of major museums throughout the country, on permanent display in the United Nations, and been displayed in the White House Rose Garden. In January of 2014, Holley completed a one-month artist-in-residence with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation in Captiva Island, Florida, site of the acclaimed artist’s studio. Holley did not start making and performing music in a studio nor does his creative process mirror that of the typical musician. His music and lyrics are improvised on the spot and morph and evolve with every event, concert, and recording. In Holley’s original art environment, he would construct and deconstruct his visual works, repurposing their elements for new pieces. This often led to the transfer of individual narratives into the new work creating a cumulative composite image that has depth and purpose beyond its original singular meaning. The layers of sound in Holley’s music, likewise, are the result of decades of evolving experimentation. Holley’s music caught the attention of Matt Arnett, whose father has been collecting Holley’s art since the 1980s. In 2006, Matt organized the first professional recordings of Holley’s music. In 2010, Arnett set up a performance by Holley at his home. One of the people in attendance was Lance Ledbetter, founder and owner of the record label Dust-to-Digital. Deeply moved by Holley’s keyboard playing and singing, Ledbetter signed Holley to his record label. Soon after, Holley found himself in the studio again, and in 2010 and 2011, more studio sessions ensued. The result was the album Just Before Music. More recordings continue to be made to celebrate and to document one of America’s most compelling musicians. In early 2014, Holley recorded again with Richard Swift, acclaimed musician and producer at his studio, National Freedom, in Cottage Grove, Oregon. In addition to the studio sessions, Holley began touring as a musician. In August and September of 2013, Holley toured the West Coast with Deerhunter. That tour was followed by a tour of the East Coast with Bill Callahan, and in November and December of 2013, Holley had his first tour through Western Europe (Spain, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, England, and France). Holley has been joined on stage or in the studio by a variety of musicians, including members of Deerhunter, Black Lips, The War on Drugs, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, Bon Iver, Julia Holter, Megafaun, as well as Ben Sollee, Steve Gunn, Jenny Hval, Marshall Ruffin, Daniel Lanois, Laraaji, Brian Blade, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Bill Callahan, Dave Eggar, Laraaji, Kelly Pratt (Beirut/Arcade Fire/The Antlers), Sam Amidon, Aaron Embry (Elliot Smith/Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) and others. In 2013, Holley’s first records were named to a number of Top Records of the Year lists, including The Washington Post (#4) and The Chicago Sun Times (#2). In 2014, Holley continued to tour, completing another tour of Europe (Belgium, Norway, England, Denmark, the Netherlands, and France) and a USA/Canada tour with Daniel Lanois. Also in 2014, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that they had acquired three sculptures by the acclaimed artist and musician, through the generosity of the Souls Grown Deep Foundation. Holley played a number of shows in 2015, touring Europe again to audiences in England, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. That tour kicked off with a show at Queen Elizabeth Hall, as part of David Byrne’s Meltdown Festival. In addition to his European tour, Holley played shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Hammer Museum in LA, The American Folk Art Museum, St. James Hall in Vancouver, The Charleston Music Hall, among many others, but the majority of the year was not spent performing live. In 2015, Holley recorded music for the film Five Nights in Maine, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and saw theatrical release in the summer of 2016. An exhibition of his visual art opened in the summer of 2015, titled Something To Take My Place: The Art of Lonnie Holley, at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, accompanied by a monograph of the same name. In the winter of 2015/16, Supported By the Power: Lonnie Holley, an exhibition of Holley’s sculptures opened at Duke University’s John Hope Franklin Center. Lonnie Holley continues to make art, record music, and tour occasionally, either alone or with collaborators. The songs and the shows are never the same, as Holley never performs the same song twice. In the summer of 2016, he embarked on a tour throughout the Southeastern United States, this time with a full band of frequent collaborators that included Ben Sollee, Stevie Nistor, Kelly Pratt, and Marshall Ruffin. On the tour, the band visited artists, art sites, and museums, and held workshops for adults and children along the way. In late September, 2016, Holley’s music was sampled on the acclaimed third album (22, A Million) from Bon Iver. That same month, Holley was a featured visual artist at AfroPunk/Atlanta, where his found object sculptures were on display. In November of 2016, Holley embarked on his fourth European tour, playing a number of festivals and music venues, culminating in a sold-out, two-night residency at the acclaimed Café Oto in London. He returned to the States in time for the premiere of the short documentary about Holley, The Man is the Music, at Doc NYC in New York. Holley closed out 2016 with his final show of the year at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, sharing the stage with Bon Iver. 2017 was also a busy year for the artist. In January, an exhibition of his art, Lonnie Holley: I Snuck Off the Slave Ship, opened at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. In May, an exhibition entitled Thumbs Up for the Mothership (a two-artist show with Dawn DeDeaux) premiered at MASS MoCA, coinciding with the opening of the new Building 6. His work was also featured in two exhibitions at the de Young Museum (The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco) and had two solo exhibitions at James Fuentes Gallery, his New York gallery. Additionally, he made wood block prints with Paulson Fontaine Press, collaborated on three etchings and a zine with artist Chris Johanson, played a number of concerts, spent a lot of time in the recording studio preparing for the release of his third album, due out in the spring of 2018.

  • Olivia

̸BIOGRAPHY New album Sen out on 29.09.23 dalmatadaniel.bandcamp.com/album/sen Olivia is one of Unsound’s resident DJs and one of the biggest movers on the Krakow club scene. She’s Dj, producer and who is part of We Are Radar collective, 1/2 Radiation 30376. Few DJs truly have a unique vision: a distinctive approach that draws on a myriad of interconnected styles to create a unified, otherworldly sound of its’ own. Olivia is one such DJ. Initially best known for being one of the key resident DJs at the acclaimed annual Unsound festival that takes place in her home city, Krakow, Olivia has developed a trademark style that couples razor-sharp technical skills with an eclectic but interconnected approach to the raw, weighty and mind-altering music she mixes. Depending on the venue, event and vibe, Olivia might race through angular acid, loose-limbed electro, futuristic Motor City techno, concrete-clad industrial music, surging EBM, twisted Italo, glacial cold wave and metallic new wave. This forward-thinking blend of 1980s-inspired styles and experimental dancefloor workouts has proved popular with peers and punters alike, leading to sets at such leading clubs and festivals as Berghain, De School, Tresor, Golden Pudel, Dekmantel and Nachtdigital. Olivia has also showcased her trademark style via acclaimed mixes for CRACK, The Ransom Note, Dekmantel, Cxema, Digital Tsunami and Inverted Audio, appearances on Boiler Room, and a regular radio show on fast-rising station Noods. The Polish DJ/producer’s achievements are impressive, but no less than she deserves for her hard work and dedication to the underground over the last 16 years. She first rose to prominence as one of the most active DJs on Krakow’s electronic music underground, featuring in a number of collectives and appearing in clubs all over Poland before becoming a leading member of her home city’s We Are Radar party collective. Olivia remains an active member of the Radar collective, which includes a mixture of artists, DJs, events organisers and live performers. She has extensive experience in booking and events too, where the depth of her musical knowledge once more comes to the fore. Today, Olivia has her hands in many projects, collectives and live performance projects. These include Radiation 30376 (a live show with Chino that debuted at Unsound 2019), Morskie Oko (a hybrid live/DJ project with Chino and Steffan Bennemann) and Chrono Bross, a collaborative initiative with Kinzo Chrome. Although she has her hands full as a DJ and live performer, Olivia has devoted increasing amounts of time to music production over the last few years. She released her debut cassette, Skawa – a perfect distillation of her inspirations and influences in five forthright tracks – via K-Hole Trax in 2018, while her music has also featured on compilations from Pointless Geometry and the Wire Magazine. In 2020 she released "Dancing Snake" ep at Pinkman label. On the same label in 2021 she released with Chino "Arka" ep as a Radiation 30376. 2022 was also full of new music out from her with "New Life" ep at Dom Trojga label and split records with Rapha at Dalmata Daniel. She says that new music is on the way; if her DJ sets and previous productions are anything to go by, it will be edgy, uncompromising, unexpected and undeniably unique. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Olivia - Skawa (K-HOLE TRAX) Olivia - Dancing Snake (Pinkman) Olivia - Relief (Various - V/A Vol. 1/ Voyage Select) Radiation 30376 - Git (Various - House Of Troubles/ Syntetyk) Radiation 30376 - Bajkonur (Various - V/A Vol. 1/ Voyage Select) Olivia - Hope (Various - Domownicy Różnoracy Cz.2 ‎/ Dom Trojga) Olivia - Relief (Various - V/A Vol. 1/ Voyage Select) Olivia - Hey (Various - DDC02 : V/A / Dalmata Daniel) Radiation 30376 - Arka (Pinkman) Olivia - New Lige (Dom Trojga) Olivia - Protesters (Various - Compilation for Ukraine/ Dalmata Daniel) Olivia - split ep with Rapha (Dalmata Daniel) Wulkan - Lush Name (Olivia Remix)

̸BIOGRAPHY Berlin based multidisciplinary artist, DJ and co-founder of the Egyptian label irsh. Rama is a multidisciplinary artist and DJ based in Berlin. With the aim of creating a space and platform for artists from Cairo's experimental electronic music scene, she co-founded the independent music platform called irsh in 2019. What started as a homemade video series featuring Live and DJ sets quickly evolved into a label. As a DJ, Rama swiftly made a name for herself in Cairo's electronic and dance scene by performing at underground parties such as VENT, JellyZone and MOSHTRQ. She is recognized for her ability to draw from a diverse range of sounds without being constrained by genres, making it easy for her to play to the room; whether it’s heavy bass and high energy bangers or groovy beats and hiphop. Her method of mixing is more akin to live mashups than regular blends. On her monthly show on Noods Radio, Rama delves into different sounds, showcasing a wider palette in a space that allows her to play music that may not always be suited for the club. Every two months, she also hosts guest mixes from some of her favorites artists; ZULI, ABADIR, Nadah El Shazly, Sineraw and JENN.

̸BIOGRAPHY Rắn Cạp Đuôi has been at the forefront of sound art and experimental music in Vietnam since 2015. They are in a constant state of flux, deconstruction and rebirth, resulting in chaotic sheets of sound and compositions which border on violence and beauty. ̸BIOGRAPHY Ruhail Qaisar is a self-taught artist from Ladakh, India. As a musician, he explores the confines of memory, the dry rot of intergenerational trauma, and the eerie swarms of the human unconscious, incorporating vernacular poetics, and improvised chaos. The work serves to transmit sound-collage memoirs based on real-life events and local mythos, as developed through his recollections of growing up in the frontier villages of Ladakh, located in the high-altitude Himalayas. Hauntological drones disturbed with spastic tremors of post-industrial delirium and cruel power electronics. • Space Afrika

̸BIOGRAPHY Space Afrika With their slow-stepping, spacious urban dubscapes, Space Afrika harness ambient, Detroit techno and shades of early nineties Sheffield with a fresh and open approach to composition — this is dub techno stripped-down, sealed in a time capsule and sent back from the near future. Driving, echo-laden deep beats form the bed for a heavily subaquatic sound palette with undercurrents of cybernetic dread. Friends for almost 2 decades, the two Joshuas formed Space Afrika after years of listening to music together, sequestered by harsh Northern winters. Heavily inspired by the industrial architecture of Northwest England and notions of travel, their sonic framework evokes images of rust and disintegrating concrete, and sensations of movement and redemption — exuding a distorted analogue soul offering escape into their overcast skies. Closely associated with Brighton/London label, Where to Now?, who slink along a vintage axis of post-punk, On-U Sound, minimal and no wave influences, Space Afrika's diverse and creative radio shows (notably their residencies on NTS and Reform Radio) also display a breadth of curiosities in experimental and avant-garde music, old and new.

  • TAYHANA

̸BIOGRAPHY CDMX-based DJ & producer. Argentinian DJ and producer, Tayhana, has established herself, in a short period of time, as one of the most relevant and promising figures in the club scene around the world. Self-taught by her experience as a founder of one of the most radical parties in South America that revalued the original music of the continent, she is recognized as a central figure in the Club Latinx genre. Thanks to her aggressive way of playing, a fearless imagination mixing different rhythms, BPMs and a wide range of experimental sounds from Latin America, but mostly because of her creative capacity as a producer and a beatmaker to push the boundaries of what has been possible in the encounter of urban and traditional music from all over the continent, she has called the attention of artists such as Rosalía, Daniela Lalita, Mare Advertencia Lírica, Gaika, among many others producers and well known DJs in the industry. Currently based in México, she has been part of the record label N.A.A.F.I, with whom she released her first albúm “Tierra del Fuego”, with great acceptance and broad recognition by the specialized media in the electronic music scene. The impact of this singular approach to club music gave her the chance to be booked in extensive tours around Europe, Asia and all over Latin America. Over the last few years she has played in a wide range of the most relevant festivals that embrace club culture such as Primavera Sound, Lollapalooza (ARG), Mutek (USA), Unsound (POL), Festival Estereo Picnic (CO), Festival Ceremonia (MX), SXSW (TX) and also institutions like MoMA Ps1 (NY-USA) among many others. Recently, Tayhana’s work as a music producer and a beatmaker, has been selected and recognized in large scale productions by artists such as GAIKA and ROSALÍA, for whom she produce the beat “CUUUUUuuute” for her world acclaimed latest album “Motomami”, being the only female producer involved on the record that would win ‘Best Alternative Album’ at the GRAMMY Awards and ‘Album of the Year’ at the LATIN GRAMMYS Awards. But also, she has been invited as a producer in the original soundtrack of WAKANDA FOREVER, one of the latest blockbuster movies of MARVEL, next to the artist Foudeqush with the song “Con la brisa”. In the past decade, the relevance of her work has not only inspire the multiplication and emergence of differents clubs centered in electronic music from Latin America, but also a broad number of producers and djs, specially females, opening a new kind of recognition to the beautiful complexity of the sound of Latinx culture.

  • Vessel

̸BIOGRAPHY Electronic producer & composer Seb Gainsborough (Vessel) began his career as a purveyor of left-field, bass driven electronica, using his unique sonic palate to create immersive compositions, exploring texture and tone, the organic and the man-made. His first album, Order of Noise (Tri Angle Records 2012) saw him position himself as an artist at the vanguard of new British electronic music. 2014’s ‘Punish, Honey’ signalled a distinct departure from everything Vessel had previously released. Following two years of touring the output from ‘Order of Noise’ and his output from the ten years prior, Vessel approached ‘Punish, Honey’ differently, stepping aside from digital music tools in favour of analogue hardware and unique, hand-crafted instrumentation in order to develop an entirely unique sonic palette. Lead single, Red Sex picked up cult status, being used in Park Chan Wook’s The Handmaiden, on Alexander McQueen’s catwalks and as the soundtrack to a swathe of contemporary dance works whilst simultaneously destroying dank basement dancefloors around the world. Following ‘Punish, Honey’ Gainsborough’s focus shifted to a collaborative, exploratory approach, in particular, blurring the boundaries between live and synthesised sound. Gainsborough teamed up with Erased Tapes’ Immix Ensemble for his first foray into the ‘classical’ world, this resulted in a new commission for the re-launch of Tate Britain ‘Transition’, released on Erased Tapes in 2016. "At some point, I realised I had faded away from much of the music I used to identify with," Gainsborough told Dazed. "When I started getting deeply into classical and chamber music, I let out a big sigh of relief, like, finally. This is the language I've been looking for." This sparked a critical mass of new ideas and partnerships that would change Gainsborough’s music output forever. Gainsborough formed a close bond with Rakhi Singh, Immix’s violinist who opened his eyes to a lifetime of new listening. They began to write their first collaborative work not long after meeting. Written In Fire, a response to Janáček’s string quartet ‘Intimate Letters’ dropped in 2019, kicking off a rapid fire triptych alongside chamber opera ‘Paradise Lost’ and ‘Passion’, alongside acclaimed cellist Lucy Railton. If ‘Transition’ was Gainsborough dipping his toe into the water of the instrumental world, this was him diving in head first. All the while, alongside this exploration, collaboration and creative play, Gainsborough was simultaneously penning ‘Queen of Golden Dogs’, an album that would be his first true, cohesive amalgamation of his deep, nuanced electronic music and the new world of experimental and classical music that was unfolding before his eyes. Marrying ‘orchestral string stabs with propulsive percussion for a sound that is equal parts Arnold Schoenberg and Oneohtrix Point Never.’ Queen of Golden Dogs, was released (again by Tri Angle) in 2018. It marks a stark departure from the producer’s previous work, taking that next step on Gainsborough’s creative journey, combining chamber-rave freak outs with vocal segues and neo-classical pieces. In the live domain, the work is performed alongside acclaimed visual artist, and long time collaborator Pedro Maia, director of the masterpiece accompaniment to QOGD’s lead single Paplu. Maia creates a visual companion truly befitting of Gainsborough’s immersive, visceral, fluid musical output. Vessel, continues to be a truly singular voice, whatever his next move is, it’s likely to be unlike anything you’ll have ever heard before. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Nylon Sunset EP - 2011 (Left Blank) Standard EP - 2012 (Left Blank) Order of Noise - 2012 (Tri Angle) Misery Is A Communicable Disease - 2013 (Liberation Technologies) Punish, Honey - 2014 (Tri Angle) Transition (with Immix Ensemble) - 2016 (Erased Tapes) Queen of Golden Dogs - 2018 (Tri Angle)

̸BIOGRAPHY Ziúr is an experimental producer/musician and a fixture in Berlin's rich musical topography. Ziúr is an experimental producer/musician and a fixture in Berlin's rich musical topography. It seems as though she produces her releases in the way someone scoring a television series does, gathering and arranging their selections for each episode … isolating and apprehending definitive scenes and memorializing their ethos in song. Soundtracks, much like her release “Antifate”, guide the listener through radically different emotional states, yet somehow still offer an idea of what underpins a show's (or in this case an album's) particular hues. Ziúr produces music within such a scope, expansive, rich and diverse in texture. The sounds are simultaneously machinistic and deeply anthropomorphic, toying with mechanical isolation and the chaotic spectrum of human emotion. Unlike a soundtrack or score, there is no film to which one can turn to narrativize the music … there is only evocative sounds reaching from each song towards the cybernetic sublime. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Blur - EP 2021 (Now Now) Antifate - Album 2021 (Pan) Now Now - EP 2021 (Now Now) Are We? - EP 2020 (Self Released) ATØ - Album 2019 (Planet Mu) Isn't No Place And All Places The Same Place - Mixtape 2019 (Self Released) U Feel Anything? - Album 2017 (Planet Mu) Deeform - EP 2016 (Objects Limited) Taiga - EP 2016 (Infinite Machine)
