Formed in 2000 by Bryan Michael as an outlet for his solo electronic compositions, alka has recently grown in number. Michael recently enlisted the aid of fellow programmer/producer Todd Steponick (At Work, Cloud People) and video artist/vocalist Erika Tele (Aux88, Puzzlebox Records). Both add their own layer of complexity to the mix and assist in live outings. Regular play on college and internet radio stations such as Soma FM have established alka in the electronic underground. alka consistently appears among the Top 5 on Reverbnation’s Electronica Charts for Philadelphia.
