Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, and after traveling near and far, he relocated to his home country in 2018. Quickly becoming one of the key players in Hanoi as part of the Savage crew, he recently moved back to Saigon, where he is now the newest resident of The Observatory. Khoi presents a fun and light-hearted attitude to dance music with eclectic selections and a dreamy, percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences to use on any dance floor he’s put in control of, with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

Nic Ford moved to Vietnam from the UK around 10 years ago, and has been running and featuring on lineups of parties throughout the region since then. He has been a resident of The Observatory since it first opened in 2013. Honing his skills since the mid-nineties, he held his first residency at Dry 201 in Manchester and is a voracious collector of a vast array of music. He’s also a highly acclaimed producer, being one half of MadderModes, a production outfit that has releases on a range of impressive labels including DRED, Voodoo Down Records and Millions of Moments.

Bringing diversity to the decks as an avid dancer, organizer and DJ, Park Lee (Giang Bac) is a Vietnamese-mixed Korean who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City. Having spent some years away, Park was only inspired to start DJ-ing once he had relocated back to his home, where he found himself developing alongside the city’s burgeoning music scene.Park started off through playing at small house parties, and quickly grew into a regular in the local scene. This led him to begin organizing events with friends, most notably the GenderFunk party series in Saigon, a breakthrough collective and pioneer in creating safe spaces for local Queer artists and community, and their own brand of creativity, musical diversity and live performance since 2018.

Hibiya Line is not Japanese. Behind that name hides Dan, a Swiss-Vietnamese guy who in 2006 began playing live acts mixing beats, house and techno in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland with two friends. They quickly made a name for themselves were invited to play in some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Motel Campoto name a few. His deep immersion in the Swiss party scene eventually brought him to Saigon in 2012, and in 2013, he opened The Observatory. Since then, Hibiya Line has become known as one of the most versatile and resilient DJs in the region, with more than enough capacity and drive to take full control of dance floors from the sundown to sunrise. One of The Observatory residents, Kin’s approach to his sets is intelligent, sensual and constantly evolving. Through his carefully chosen selections, he crafts a sonic flow that careens through the gaps between the physical and emotional. He slowly disarms and relaxes his dance floor while heightening its awareness with tracks from the more shadowy sides of house and delicate frequencies of techno. His dance floor can also be frequently surprised by licks of disco and other unexpected delicacies.

After having plunged into the depths of Saigon underground scene, Vynnibal moved behind the decks to bring her unique goofy, banging yet delicate sound to the aerial life. Despite her tender soul, Vynnibal is not afraid to explore unchartered territories, drive the crowd to unexpected places, mix feelings as she blends liquid emotions into multi-versed musical sets. With Vynnibal, expect the odd and the sparkly, the quirky and the severe, the kisses and the kicks. A long-time record collector and connoisseur of jazz funk, disco, afro, reggae and other hidden rarities, Datodeo moved his vinyl to Vietnam from his native France and has since spent most of his spare time spinning around Saigon and the region. He also runs the Vietnam Loves Vinyl online community and worked on the Saigon SuperSound Compilation with Jan Hagenkoetter. Datodeo’s sets are rich explorations of hidden corners of the dance universe, from rare deep house cuts and lost disco and Afro gems to jazz funk movements and contemporary electronic twists. Party music at its purest and most complete, the sound he presents demands to be soaked in and danced to.

Barry Sunset is a founding member of cult Melbourne party, Spin Club, held monthly at the infamous Mercat Basement in Melbourne, Australia. Since it’s demolition he has gone on to create the eclectic About Love podcast, and his own Australiana fishing themed side-stage and bar at Hopkins Creek Festival - Barry’s Bait Shop. Deejaying since a young age has seen him hone his selections from countless hours behind the booth and is now a local hero treasured by the party-people of Melbourne. Now based in Hanoi, Vietnam he is producing some sneaky dancefloor edits, running his own Sunset Sounds imprint and has his sights on the dance floors of south-east Asia and beyond.

Born in Paris in the ’80s, Desnuages was immersed in music growing up with his mother dancer. Percussionist autodidact, he learns to play Darbouka and Djembe. Attracted by the Parisian night, he was quickly interested by the electronic scene and used to go to Concrete, Rex club with DJ friends where he discovers micro house, deep and minimal. He moved to Saigon in Vietnam in 2018 where he started to learn Djing with Dj friends and was resident at Arcan Club.

La Riff is Axel Riffaud nickname gave from his childhood friends. It lasted over the years as the strong friendship. Axel grow up with all kind of music in his ears. As many others he first been a dancefloor lover, always looking for the eclectic music. Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Palma de Mallorca, Hong Kong & Ho Chi Minh City been his playground. By the beginning of 2019 La Riff touched for his first time a CDJ, one month later he was starting performing in reputed venues for underground music of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Summer 2019, he started to produce his own tracks with the idea of feed his DJ Set. He immediately got the virus of that and quickly been recognize by professional of the industry for his work.

Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Loco Dice is a house DJ/producer with minimal leanings who is affiliated with labels including Four:Twenty Recordings, Ovum Recordings, Cocoon Recordings, M_nus, and Cadenza, as well as the label he founded with production partner Martin Buttrich, Desolat. Born Yassine Ben Achour in Tunisia, he began his career in the early '90s as a rap MC/DJ named Dice'C. As such, he experienced some modest success in his German homeland, for instance releasing the 12" EP Coming from D-Town (1996) on Flavour Records and opening for big-name rap/R&B performers such as Snoop Dogg and Usher. In time he switched from rap to house music and changed his name to Loco Dice in the process. He in turn secured a residency at the Düsseldorf club Tribehouse, where he met superstar producer/DJ Timo Maas, who signed him to his Four:Twenty Recordings label. ~ AllMusic

Half Taiwanese-half french and currently based in Paris, made a name for herself by promoting parties since 2012. Originally starting off as a hip-hop and R&B DJ, Louise has grown up with sampling culture and been a crate-digger for a long time. Her endless quest looking for soul, funk, disco and jazz has led her to build her own sound when playing clubs like Rex and Concrete. In 2018, she released her first track, a rolling tune that reflects Louise's take on Horny House - "Reach" came out on Moxie's On Loop label and Compilation. Today she hosts radio shows on NTS, Rinse France, The Lot Radio in New York & DJs alongside acts like Floating Points, MCDE & Bambounou.

The "IT PLACE" in Bucharest was Kristal Club, and he went there to enjoy his favorite artists and get a glimpse of the scene. Playing for friends and small parties was just the beginning for Mahony, getting more recognition as a DJ when he got the residency of Kudos Beach Club in Mamaia. With a full season and great reviews, Mahony was signed as a resident DJ in his favorite club, Kristal. He got to play alongside great artists like Pan-Pot, The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, Dubfire, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Loco Dice, and many more. His career fast forwarded playing for Sunwaves Festival over the years, as one of the residents.

Manny is a Paris native, currently living in Saigon. Manny’s love for hip hop music started with 90’s French hip hop music and later blossomed when he had started to listen to American hip hop artists, such as 2-Pac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and the NWA. He then went on to co-produce "Le Plan Deb", a French rap lyrics band. His passion for hip hop started to evolve while listening to one of the Wu-Tang Clan’s sample compilations, “Shaolin Soul”. That paved the way which led him into soul funk disco music. Since then, Manny has dabbled with many genres, such as African and tropical culture. He has developed his own styling of soul to topical groove with a touch of modernity. Every so often his music tends to be a little bit wilder, as he explores deeper dark sounds.

Maraphoria is one of Saigon’s party starters in the local DJ community. She has a varied sound that has influences from all sorts of genres: Hip Hop, Disco, House and R&B. Born in the Philippines but grew up in Vietnam, she has been strongly influenced by DJs in the local community and experiments with her favorites to create her own sound. Recently she has been exploring the sound of House and adding flavors of Bass, Groove and UK Garage.

Mickey Zhang (Zhang Ran) is a godfather of Chinese dance music. His massive 20 year career spans DJing, producing, sound tracking, and numerous album releases. As far back as the early '90s, Ricardo Villalobos began building an impressive discography of 12" releases on respected dance labels like Playhouse and Perlon, and around the turn of the decade he was one of the most revered producers and DJs in dance music. In his youth, the Chilean-born Villalobos moved with his family to Germany in order to avoid the military dictatorship of Pinochet, and he eventually fell in with the country's fertile house community. A minimalist at heart, he trotted the globe to study percussion in order to apply his knowledge to his productions, which almost always sound remarkably expansive despite their simplicity. After studying classical music in her youth, Sonja Moonear set aside the piano in favour of the turntables and bought a Roland R8. Surrounded by the Swiss mountains, Sonja immersed herself in the Geneva underground before finally infiltrating the ranks of the Weetamix residents in 2002. From that point on, participating in ever more ambitious projects, she was tapped by an international agency and started the road trip. Moonear slowly began collaborating with artists and friends like Luciano or Cosmic Chile Zürich, along with Dandy Jack as Junction SM. She has acquired an impressive international reputation, playing in clubs and festivals worldwide. In the last couple of years she has been releasing her own tracks and remixes on renowned international labels such as Karat and Perlon. She runs the label Ruta5 and organises various events in Switzerland as well as the growing Kiss Me festival.

Soul Jazz Funksters was created as a side project by Alan Ritchie in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2017 to have an outlet for his mixes keeping away from House, Techno and Electro which he has predominantly played since the early 90’s. It quickly took off and he started getting more gigs playing Soul, Funk, Nu Jazz, Reggae & Hip Hop than electronic gigs around the capitol city of the Kingdom of Wonder. In 2018 he moved back to his SE Asian roots country Vietnam bringing his deep soulful sounds to the bars and clubs of Nha Trang & Saigon.

A Manila born – Boracay Island based DJ who started spinning back in 2016 and since had a voice in the Philippine underground music scene. She is a Production and Graphic Designer at Area 51 Top Secret Party Facility ( A venue known for The Black Moon and Full Moon Parties that has been running for 8 years in Boracay Island, Philippines.) where she realized her musical inclination by practicing mixing during sound checks.

Snake charmer born and located in Thailand with Indian and Japanese roots. Co-founder of Siamese Twins record label focusing on psychedelic sounds rooted in Asia. Co-runs the Karma Klique collective known for raves at obscure locations. As a producer, he released on imprints such as 禁 JIN, Ute and Siamese Twins under his own name, Mogambo and Khun Fluff aliases. As well as periodic ambient albums on his own Extans Mantra imprint. Which led to sought-after collaborations with Full Circle, Yu Su, S.O.N.S, Marc Pinol, and Benedikt Frey. A household name across the region for over a decade playing spaced-out music in forests, warehouses, and castles.

Mei grew up near the vibrant megacity Chengdu in the lush Western China Sichuan Basin. At the age of 9, she began to learn the traditional Chinese Erhu, a genuinely mysterious folk instrument, two-stringed, played with a bow and made from carved wood and snakeskin, sometimes known in the Western world as the Chinese violin or the Chinese two-stringed fiddle. Inspired by her passion for the electronic music scene of Chengdu’s hyped underground, Mei started to fuse traditional Chinese folk music with minimalistic techno tunes.

Originally Teruu played as a drummer in a Tokyo based Hardcore Punk band for 10 years. He was taken over by the charm of dance music in 20xx and started DJing since 2015. His energetic, disco sets are fuelled by techno, house, afro and other obscurities. He was a resident at the infamous Savage in Hanoi before he moved to Saigon, where he was a booking manager of DJ bar WAM. Recently, we focus on and promote DJs and producers from Vietnam and other neighbouring Asian countries as the founder of Mogra Radio.

Ume is the Japanese DJ originally from Osaka and currently based in Saigon. He began his path as a selector in the underground parties surrounding his hometown, He is a member of the Mogra Radio. His music is a delicate soundtrack to the “here and now”. It is difficult to attribute it to any single genre, it is a reflection of the moment in time, atmosphere and mood of music lovers around. His sets are always filled with rhythmic grooves, extravagance and echoes from different cultures and worlds.

From his roots in the underground, wAFF has now become globally renowned. His schedule is relentless & the only UK artist to record for three techno hubs, Cocoon, Drumcode & Desolat. He approaches music with unstoppable enthusiasm & attention to detail.

Yaya grows up in Torino, in the resonant Babylon of his home, where the rhythms of his father’s, singer and leading voice of the ensemble M’bamina, drums prophesied a multi-ethnic Italy. During the 70’s the sound of M’bamina spread an exotic afro-beat sound in the smoky clubs of the cold Torino of those days. As a boy Yaya grew up surrounded by the sound of the albums released by one of the pioneer band of afro sound in Italy. Since his teen age, Yaya approaches with the rhythm performing as a drummer around the city. It is when at the age of 17 he purchases a pair of decks, that his blood’s rhythm takes an electronic turmoil driving him to house music: Yaya begins then playing at clubs and parties of the flourished techno-house scene of Turin. At 18, he lands for the first time in the island of music hedonism, Ibiza; his vivacity lead him to play at several afterhours and his musical assertiveness allowed him to be noticed by the entrepreneurs of the white island’s big electronic circus..
