Hibiya Line is not Japanese. Behind that name hides Dan, a Swiss-Vietnamese guy who in 2006 began playing live acts mixing beats, house and techno in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland with two friends. They quickly made a name for themselves were invited to play in some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Motel Campoto name a few. His deep immersion in the Swiss party scene eventually brought him to Saigon in 2012, and in 2013, he opened The Observatory. Since then, Hibiya Line has become known as one of the most versatile and resilient DJs in the region, with more than enough capacity and drive to take full control of dance floors from the sundown to sunrise. Hibiya Line’s sound explores the house, disco and techno, but his dancefloor can always expect to experience some open-ended style tracks thrown in that make the audio journey more diverse and interesting...

Anh Vy is one of the youngest Djs in the Saigon underground scene and one of The Observatory’s newest residents. He's recognised by the versatility and flexibility in music. He was one of the resident DJs of former Upper Saigon. As time goes by, he is making himself into an interesting and promising piece of Saigon’s underground scene as an artist and a contributor with his very own uniqueness.

Nic Ford moved to Vietnam from the UK around 10 years ago, and has been running and featuring on lineups of parties throughout the region since then. He has been a resident of The Observatory since it first opened in 2013. Honing his skills since the mid-nineties, he held his first residency at Dry 201 in Manchester and is a voracious collector of a vast array of music. He’s also a highly acclaimed producer, being one half of MadderModes, a production outfit that has releases on a range of impressive labels including DRED, Voodoo Down Records and Millions of Moments.

Bringing diversity to the decks as an avid dancer, organizer and DJ, Park Lee (Giang Bac) is a Vietnamese-mixed Korean who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City. Having spent some years away, Park was only inspired to start DJ-ing once he had relocated back to his home, where he found himself developing alongside the city’s burgeoning music scene.Park started off through playing at small house parties, and quickly grew into a regular in the local scene. This led him to begin organizing events with friends, most notably the GenderFunk party series in Saigon, a breakthrough collective and pioneer in creating safe spaces for local Queer artists and community, and their own brand of creativity, musical diversity and live performance since 2018.

After having plunged into the depths of Saigon underground scene, Vynnibal moved behind the decks to bring her unique goofy, banging yet delicate sound to the aerial life. Despite her tender soul, Vynnibal is not afraid to explore unchartered territories, drive the crowd to unexpected places, mix feelings as she blends liquid emotions into multi-versed musical sets. With Vynnibal, expect the odd and the sparkly, the quirky and the severe, the kisses and the kicks. She is also behind “The Crisis” parties and regularly brings new acts and people together, contributing with passion to turning Saigon into a regional techno powerhouse.

Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, and after traveling near and far, he relocated to his home country in 2018. Quickly becoming one of the key players in Hanoi as part of the Savage crew, he recently moved back to Saigon, where he is now the newest resident of The Observatory. Khoi presents a fun and light-hearted attitude to dance music with eclectic selections and a dreamy, percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences to use on any dance floor he’s put in control of, with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

One of The Observatory residents, Kin’s approach to his sets is intelligent, sensual and constantly evolving. Through his carefully chosen selections, he crafts a sonic flow that careens through the gaps between the physical and emotional. He slowly disarms and relaxes his dance floor while heightening its awareness with tracks from the more shadowy sides of house and delicate frequencies of techno. His dance floor can also be frequently surprised by licks of disco and other unexpected delicacies.

A producer and DJ deep house and techno operating in Asia. Growing up in the heart of a techno scene in Leeds in the mid-90s, Dan moved to London just to be immersed in the bass of Heart & Soul parties, followed by relationships. The system through legendary Eukotech disc performance. Before long, Dan appeared in London's finest underground parties. More recently, after moving the capital to Brighton and the famous free party setting with Positive Soundsystem and Innerfield. At that time, Dan had a regular seat at the Backstage Bar of the Glade Festival. After years of refining sound and craftsmanship, the first 1DAN publication was published through the highly respected label deep house underground Atmospheric Existence in England. Originally hailing from Wales in the UK, I'm currently residing in Saigon after spending 4 years in the northern capital of Hanoi. I usually explore a diverse melange of house, deep, disco and electro. Expect dreamy Balearic tracks, tribal afro sounds mixed in with some more dancefloor focused house music. I have a passion for travelling and aim to incorporate some global sounds into many of my sets.

MadderModes is a British deep house and techno duo consisting of Nic Ford and Andy Harper. Now a transcontinental project - with production taking place between Manchester and Saigon - MadderModes’ first official release came in 2014 with a self released 12" under their own Shift Coordinate Points imprint. After that came their 2015 release on Millions Of Moments 'Green Corn Moon EP' which contained a track entitled 'Myth Of The Muses" which was included on Berghain resident Nick Hoppners RA mix and made its way into the playlist of Move D. In late 2015 came "Dark Dust EP" on Andre Kronert's Night Drive Music and in early 2016 the "Empirical Evidence EP" was released on Voodoo Down US records - “The mood is warm and ever so slightly psychedelic across all four tracks on the Empirical Evidence 12”, not least on the sublime opening cut “Corinthian Columns” with its cascading new age melodic lines and delicate drum machine patterns.”

Addicted to vinyl, Micmac is an activist of the French underground electro scene since the mid 90's as a co-founder of FDB recordings, electro bass label and a resident of the paradise massage parties @ Rex Club with famous Headliners from Detroit like Dj Assault, AUX 88, Detroit Grand Pubahs.

Nayla, founder of On Point Worldwide Records, is a producer and DJ born and raised in the UK, releasing a selection of instrumental Hip Hop, House and Disco Edits. As a DJ, his genre fluid track selection represents a spicy fusion of Garage, House, Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Italo and Bass, with a healthy injection of Global Sounds. Currently residing in South East Asia with a recent base in Ho Chi Minh City he is a regular face at clubs and events such as The Observatory, Kobala, Savage, The Lighthouse, and Studio Adventure. Indeed, his tracks are sure to satisfy an array of tastes and dispositions. Exploring the sounds of electronic music, On Point Worldwide Records is a Vietnam based record label that provides a platform for those hidden gems from producers around the world..

It would be wrong to start talking about where Ouissam comes from – after a decade in Asia, he’s now something of a regional entity that has managed to change the dance music scene wherever he has laid down roots. His approach to a dance floor is as simple as it is intuitive and elegant: nothing that can make a room shudder with joy is barred from his selections.As the founder of Hong Kong’s Cliche Records, he was one of the first in that city to cultivate a disco-house-techno synthesis that shifted the understanding of what could be danced to there. He went on to create the magnetic Homesick and Fragrant Harbour labels, before suddenly setting his sights on Hanoi in Vietnam, where he has established the dance mecca Savage where he runs the monthly queer night Snug. And on top of all that, he found time to curate the coveted Equation festival, now entering its second year..

Growing up in a family where Chicago House was used for aerobic sessions, Youss has been an electronic music fan since the age of 7 when he listened to his first house music track. It’s easy to say that the energy he felt when he got into a club for the first time has locked him to the dance floor ever since, and he’s not willing to leave any time soon. Considering a set to be a story built between a crowd and a DJ, Youss likes twists and turns where genres and energies subtly switch from one another creating a harmonious contrast of sounds.
