  • 12th Planet

With early co-signs from Skream and Rusko, a feature on Diplo’s ‘Blow Your Head’ compilation, and the launch of a bubbling new SMOG event series in LA, John Dadzie, professionally known as 12th Planet, quickly became known as one of the first ambassadors of dubstep in the US. As the sound began to spread, he helped navigate its uncharted territories with tracks like the breakout “68” single, released on his newly launched SMOG label, and collaborations alongside Skrillex and Kill the Noise (“Burst”, followed by the Grammy winning “Right on Time”). • Deep Groove Society

Deep Groove Society (DGS) is a multidimensional community of DJs and house music lovers that has been hosting events in Northern California for 15+ years. In 1999, friends and colleagues Jsun Paul and Sequoia had a collective vision to create an event for like-minded individuals to experience the love of vinyl records and house music. Out of that vision came Deep Groove Society (DGS), but what grew out of that was much more than a singular gathering of music lovers, but rather over 18 years of events, and a strong community that will forever hold a place in the history of the Northern California electronic music scene. As many kids who have grown up in the early 90s in the South West of Germany, Gerd Janson was a regular guest at Mannheim’s legendary Milk Club. Although this venue was most popular for putting jungle on the map in Germany, Gerd always used to wait eagerly for the early morning hours when the pace slowed down and US styled house was the ruling sound. In the following years, his deep love for house and disco music was fed in Frankfurt’s Wild Pitch Club by Heiko MSO and Ata. In 1998, Gerd Janson finally had his first DJ residency at Darmstadt’s Café Kesselhaus.

On the live front, he has built a rabid following with his high-energy sets and advanced mixing skills. In January of 2022, Subtronics dropped his debut album ‘FRACTALS’ which came in at #4 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Album Chart, and had dedicated billboards in Times Square and Los Angeles. The album coincided with his massive 50+ date sell-out national headline FRACTAL TOUR, which featured state-of-the-art production and ground-breaking visuals. The tour traveled with a custom-built stage, featuring a floating DJ table within a reflective black hole, dubbed ‘The Wormhole.’ Notable venues on the run included Gila River Arena, WaMu Theater, Coca Cola Roxy, Avant Gardner, Echostage, and more.
