about
Pete Sabine, aka DJ Fabsabs, launched his career hosting indie radio shows on Fresh Air FM (Edinburgh), Subcity (Glasgow) and KSDT (San Diego). This led to a guest spot at cult underground station Resonance FM in London.
Returning to his home in Hong Kong, he played Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop at local hangout Chapter 3 before becoming a Volume Beat resident in 2008. In 2010, Fabsabs featured on side A of Volume Club Anthems Asia, his first CD release.
His style considered eclectic, leaning towards hip-hop, jazz funk, house and mash-up. Corporate appearances include work for MINI, Miele, UBS and Quintessentially.
He is currently resident DJ at Volume Beat.

His name has come across with many notably DJs and producers, such as Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren,Timo Maas, Santos , Jimmy Van M, James Zabiela, Tall Paul, Evil Nine, Radio Slave, Tiefschwarz, Butch, Meat Katie, Peace Division, Elite Force, Stelios Vassiloudis, Takkyu Ishino石野卓球, JDS, John Graham (Quivver), Phil K, Adam Freeland, James What, Noah Pred, Luke Fair and Andy Moor. The co-operations with those big guns strongly influenced his music styles and techniques. Deep House is his signature, loops and effects are his trumps. On top of the ones own effort and passion, no doubt Darka's achievements are more or less in connection with his respectable "Master cum mentor" - Mr. David Lam

    An American dub and reggae connoisseur previously based in Hong Kong, The Groove Thief [TGT] currently lives in Denver, Colorado, USA. Including the influential Pomegranate club residency, TGT promoted hundreds of events in the 852, leading the South China Morning Post to name him “among Hong Kong’s leading arbiters of musical taste.” In Colorado with his Pomegranate Hi Fi sound system, TGT has organized backyard boogies, guerrilla pop-ups, and sponsored collaborations, plus he’s rapidly becoming a leading American voice celebrating reggae and sound system culture. Beyond releasing live sets, mashups, and mixes, he also hosts monthly “Reggae Transfusion” and “Dub Palace” radio shows for KGNU, and is a regular guest host of the famed “Reggae Bloodlines” show. In addition, he’s a co-founder of the Hong Kong-based Pomegranate Sounds record label, which has released music from both local and international artists.
