A couple of years after winning the Beatport Breakthrough Award in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, ANNA enters the list at No.95. Known to her parents as Ana Miranda, she went from playing to a 1,500-strong crowd at the age of 14 in her home country of Brazil to fronting DJ Mag North America in 2019. New music from ANNA has been huge in festival sets for many world-leading techno DJs all summer. Then there was the richly deserved Essential Mix for the BBC that started 2019 off right, as the Brazilian distilled 20 years of DJing experience into an inspiring two-hour techno masterclass. Half Taiwanese-half french and currently based in Paris, made a name for herself by promoting parties since 2012. Originally starting off as a hip-hop and R&B DJ, Louise has grown up with sampling culture and been a crate-digger for a long time. Her endless quest looking for soul, funk, disco and jazz has led her to build her own sound when playing clubs like Rex and Concrete. In 2018, she released her first track, a rolling tune that reflects Louise's take on Horny House - "Reach" came out on Moxie's On Loop label and Compilation. Today she hosts radio shows on NTS, Rinse France, The Lot Radio in New York & DJs alongside acts like Floating Points, MCDE & Bambounou.

̸BIOGRAPHY Melancholic Drum and Bass made by some guy from Essex From Mixmag 2015 If there's one drum 'n' bass producer you should get accustomed with this year, it's LSB. His productions are super smooth rollers and his deck selection's always on point. Just check 'The View' (featuring Tyler Daley's vocals) from DRS' recent album on Marcus Intalex's Soul:r label for proof. LSB produced it and the sumptuous piano keys and swift clap drums have become a mainstay in d'n'b sets in the last six months. He didn't just walk into contributing towards a hit, though. 2007 was his debut year - releasing 'The Eleventh Hour' on Deep Soul Music - before further releases on Swiss label Demand Records, Spearhead (home to liquid beauty 'Overthinking'), Integral Records with Technimatic collaboration 'Rotary Motion'/'Serendipity' and Hospital. "I certainly don't think of myself as anywhere near established," he says. "I've been releasing tunes since 2007, I didn't just come straight in and blow up with my early tunes. Because it's taken so long I'm not really aware of any status I hold." He might be modest about his status, but signing two releases to Intalex's label (after hooking up through a round of golf) within the space of 12 months doesn't come easy. Soul:r is where he's really upped a level, first with the bumpin' jazz of 'Leave' and secondly with the 'Fourfit EP 03', out on May 18, featuring the spine-tingling 'Walking Blues' and snappy 'Mist Of You'. Plus, there's tons to learn from someone who's been in the game for so long. "Marcus gets stuff arranged early and his ideas become tunes very early on. That was a bit alien to me but I've learnt to get into the headspace of writing tracks, not just sketching loops." There's plenty more to come this year, with another EP on Spearhead, remixes for Lenzman and Kove and a collaboration penned in with Etherwood. You won't be getting that debut LP anytime soon, though. "If it happens, it happens. I don't just want to bundle the next 12 tunes I write and say 'this is an album'. When the man behind those wire rimmed glasses and that disarming smile writes his job description just what does he put? The man who took the drum and bass concept from a small venue off London's Charing Cross Road to the nation's superclubs and then onto the international stage? The geezer whose records launched breakbeat into a brand new galaxy of sound? Or maybe he just writes 'Renaissance man for a digital age'. In truth LTJ Bukem is all of the above. Although he wouldn't like to admit it, LTJ Bukem is the living embodiment of the post-acid house entrepreneurial creative spirit. He is a mild mannered energy flash whose panoramic musical vision has found success in every area he has explored. From running soundsystems to cutting up breaks at raves, from relocating the heart of breakbeat culture to redefining the spirit of drum and bass, the man known to his friends as Danny Williamson has sat at the forefront of breakbeat evolution, lighting the way with little more than a zest for life and a love of music. In other words, LTJ Bukem is a man on a mission! Bukem's first introduction to music was, like so many others, through piano lessons as a child. Unlike so many others however, the young pianist turned out to possess a natural talent and he quickly moved through the piano grades. Classical music represented the soundtrack to his home life.

Spain-based producer Eric Estornel initially reserved the name Maceo Plex for his festival-friendly house productions before gradually taking the project into a darker, more introspective direction. After establishing himself in the techno world for his work as Maetrik beginning in the early 2000s, and exploring more abstract electro and IDM as Mariel Ito around the middle of the decade, he began releasing some of his most accessible tracks under the Maceo Plex handle starting in 2009. Over the course of the following decade, the project evolved from deep, sexy house with prominent Chicago and Detroit influences (such as on debut full-length Life Index) to a significantly more dramatic sound (particularly the ambitious Solar). In addition to releasing singles and full-lengths on well-regarded labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Kompakt, and Minus, Maceo Plex has mixed volumes of the DJ-Kicks and Fabric series. ~ AllMusic

Where did he come from? Where did she go? Marie Malarie wants to make you dance like a hoe. Marie Malarie is best known for her carefully crafted sets, and as a resident of one of London’s finest queer nights HOMODROP & Happy Endings at the much loved venue Dalston Superstore. Marie curates her very own own queer clubnights whose focus is to bring DJs, new talents, performers and artists together to celebrate the beauty of music. As well as her residencies she is regularly seen spinning vinyl in the darkest, coolest corners of East London and beyond.

Now, with gigs under her belt in just about every major city in Europe, Marie looks to take on festival stages.

Fresh off the back of a Boiler room, she’s made waves as a mainstay on Keep Hush, Hor berlin, and debuted sold out shows at some of the most notable clubs in the country. Balancing leftfield jungle with digs from her dogsonacid forum days, she’s kept a heady and diverse selection as the most important part of her performances. Behind her djing however, Mixtress is a strong advocate for equitable change and political action within music, with her prior work at Sisu crew and work with promoters to keep the music scene fair, accessible and equal. She’s an avid whosampled contributor, jazz record collector and an all around amen break enthusiast.

Always breakneck and merciless, multi-genre dj ohmydais is a regular sheller of percussive beats between 140-160+ and her sound has made its mark on London's booming underground music scene. ohmydais has made regular appearances on Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio and Balamii and currently holds down a monthly residency on foundation fm as part of Team Woibey. As UK nightlife reopens, ohmydais has performed at world-famous venues including London's fabric, corsica studios and the cause, as well as travelling across the country to play shows and festivals including Westival, Field Day and Waterworks.

Palms Trax is a producer and Dj based in Berlin, Germany. His first record was released in October of 2013 on London-based imprint Lobster Theremin. For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier. You know the one; curious yet naive son of the English Riviera lands a job at one of London’s leading record stores and discovers the masters of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Later, stumbling around Berlin, his primitive attempts to emulate the sound of his newfound heroes accidentally land him a bona fide dance floor hit. A gradual but steady stream of EPs courtesy of Dutch dance music powerhouse Dekmantel have allowed his productions to blossom in richer, smoother directions. On 2015’s ‘In Gold’ EP, and throughout the following year’s ‘High Point on Low Ground’, halcyon hallmarks of house - euphoric piano lines, bubbling acid and luminescent keys - are shot through with Donaldson’s tough, distinctive percussion. It’s that same connection with Dekmantel that has encouraged Donaldson to quickly, impressively evolve as a DJ of some distinctive taste and talent. A memorable performance at Dekmantel’s flagship Amsterdam festival in 2015 captured open hearts, lost minds and aching feet. Since then, the sound of Palms Trax has been a fixture on their enormous main stage, drifting seamlessly between vintage house, esoteric disco and the various shades of a bubbling UK underground he has helped define. As one third of the team behind the Hessle Audio label, David Kennedy a.k.a. Pearson Sound has become more than synonymous with the cutting edge of UK dancefloor music. Richie Hawtin played an essential role in developing the sound of minimal techno, as well as spreading its popularity throughout the global club scene. Most famous for his experimental acid techno productions as Plastikman, including the classic albums Musik (1994) and Consumed (1998), he is equally well-regarded for his groundbreaking live sets and mix CDs (especially 1999's Decks, EFX & 909) which utilize cutting-edge DJ technology, fusing loops of techno records with additional synthesizers and drum machines. Initially based in Windsor, Ontario and connected with the techno scene in nearby Detroit, he co-founded the highly influential Plus 8 (and its harder sublabel Probe Records) along with John Acquaviva, later establishing Minus and relocating to Berlin during the early 2000s, just as minimal techno began receiving mainstream exposure.
