  • Adriatique

After getting to know each other in Zürich in 2008, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer became inseparable, not just as friends, but also as artists. The two men carved out a career as one of the most consistently delivering DJ/producer duos in the house and techno scene: Adriatique. The key to an enduring partnership is, of course, to complement each other, and the two Adrians do so admirably. Music-wise, their various tastes combine into one unique sound, and their respective preference for studio work and performance means that both aspects are equally well covered. Adriatique’s DJ performances as well as their productions are long, meditative, relentlessly building affairs, ever challenging the listener with subtle twists interrupting their hypnotic groove. There is more to the duo than just a well-oiled electronic music machine, however. They also live together, draw plans together, and support art in all its forms together. ~ Official Website

  • Alex Pastor

Alex Pastor is a devotee and passionate selector of underground jams. Forming and developing his DJ career in both LA and Central America, he has absorbed the sound and culture of both regions to forge his rhythmic approach. Never having been a theoretical student of music, Alex relies on instincts gained by absorbing styles ranging from oldies to hip-hop, rock to many sides of electronic. His musical offerings are characterized by a balance between physical and mental stimuli, urging dancers to move while also tickling the mind. A passion for percussion is no doubt a product of his Hispanic roots, while his early interest in hip-hop was almost certainly the catalyst of his obsession with deep, reverberating basslines.

  • Amelie Lens

Amelie Lens has risen rapidly through the European techno ranks over the past couple of years. She’s now consistently high up the bill (if not topping it) at events like Awakenings, DGTL and Ibiza staples DC-10 and Hï, and this year debuts in the Top 100 DJs poll. The Belgian’s Lenske label has simultaneously gone from strength to strength, building its name around the five-person crew of AIROD, Farrago, Milo Spkyers, Ahl Iver and Lens herself. Granite-tough techno is the name of the game; epic vibes suited to the cavernous hangars Lens fills on a regular basis. And with its newest addition — Lens’ ‘Higher’ EP — the label has now dropped 13 releases in just two years. ~ DJMag

  • ANNA

A couple of years after winning the Beatport Breakthrough Award in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, ANNA enters the list at No.95. Known to her parents as Ana Miranda, she went from playing to a 1,500-strong crowd at the age of 14 in her home country of Brazil to fronting DJ Mag North America in 2019. New music from ANNA has been huge in festival sets for many world-leading techno DJs all summer. Then there was the richly deserved Essential Mix for the BBC that started 2019 off right, as the Brazilian distilled 20 years of DJing experience into an inspiring two-hour techno masterclass. DJ Mag rightly recognised her talents, putting her on the cover of their North American edition in February, a nod to the breakaway impact she’s had on that region.

  • Ben Klock

Berlin born DJ, producer and label owner Ben Klock is without a doubt one of the most significant characters in techno’s recent history. A resident at Berghain since its opening in 2004, he has been able to leave his mark on the club’s unique sound, in turn the special space influenced Klock’s approach as a DJ and producer as well. Playing techno sets full of hypnotic, deep and heavy grooves, releasing records on Ostgut Ton and last but not least the aesthetics of his own label Klockworks (founded in 2006), have earned him an excellent international reputation over the last few years. Supported by stringent and enthralling tracks, remixes for such diverse artists as Kerri Chandler, Martyn or Depeche Mode, the revered debut album “One” on Ostgut Ton and his Berghain mix, Ben Klock’s name is synonymous with the vitalization of an essential definition of techno.

  • Black/Tuesday

Black/Tuesday takes incompatible threads and finds ways to weave them together. For individually, these threads are powerless bits and pieces but together they create something invaluable. Matthew Reyer and Joe Burchard weave grooves, sounds and textures with a focus on movement. Their DJ sets are inspired by extended sets, taking crowds on journeys through genres inspired by 90's house, techno, minimal and all that lies beneath. Finding connection with Romanian influence these two have mastered the importance of blending music, sounds and samples to create pressure and release over time. Meeting early in life, these two are no strangers to the ins and outs of each other’s work flow. Both longtime residents of Club Vinyl and TheHundred party series these two have been playing records with and around each other for years. Late night hang outs turned into late night production sessions, naturally evolving into a musical partnership. Love of curation led to the creation of their label, Black/Tuesday Limited; a vinyl-only series releasing a blend of genres and artists including Silat Beksi, Counrad and Sascha Dive. xx Confucius // Salomon Records // 2019 Facility // Salomon Records // 2019 Zhuangzi // Salomon Records // 2019 Dubla // Salomon Records // 2019 Dubla Radu Mirica Remix // Salomon Records // 2019 Night At The Rox // Whoyostro LTD // 2019 Ruggled // Whoyostro LTD // 2019 Tip Top // Whoyostro LTD // 2019 Trip to Nowhere // Whoyostro LTD // 2019 Antja // Oui Oui // 2018 Tenor // Cenote Records // 2018 Fayan // Oui Oui // 2018 Descanos // Inwave // 2018 Luna // Inwave // 2018 Sueno // Inwave // 2018 Mente // Inwave // 2018 Favela // Tzinah Records // 2018 Patches EP // Miaw // 2018 Violet Rain // Hotboi // 2018 Veda // Audiophile Deep // 2017 Warehouse 484 // Audiophile Deep // 2017 To The Point // Audiophile Deep // 2017 Ancona // Circulate Records // 2017 Developing Story // Circulate Records // 2017 [BTLTD001] Silat Beksi - Jasm EP (12") [BTLTD002] Counrad - Eden #699 Ep (12")

  • Denis Kaznacheev

Nervmusic records co-founder, half of Easy Changes duo. Born in Siberia, based in Berlin. Russian producer Denis Kaznacheev has received a healthy level of acclaim and attention as one half of Easy Changes, the loosely termed ‘minimal techno’ duo who have amassed a sizable following since 2007 through releases on their own Nervmusic imprint and other well respected labels such as Grow Vinyl, FoundSound, Sleep Is Commercial and Arma. The time has now come for to Denis to embark on a side project of music created solely by his own two hands. And a few machines. His pensive sounds weaves subtle grooves in amongst discordant synth blasts, electronic bleeps and whirrs, tripped-out FX and tinges of organic instrumentation to create a truly fascinating juxtaposition. The first output of his new endeavour had seen the light of day, naturally, through Nervmusic - with a remix from Romanian hero Rhadoo - before a collaboration with labelmate Laurine Frost as Syud yields an EP, also with a label mates Alka Rex and plenty more to follow. released: NM013 "It Has Two Ends EP" with Rhadoo and Adsum remixes upcoming: WS012 "Cheerful Gait To The Wicked Witch EP" with Kreon remix GROW006 "Isotelus Rex EP" with Daze Maxim remix

  • Denis Sulta

Glasgow-based DJ/producer Hector Barbour (aka Denis Sulta) creates vivacious, melodic house with underground sensibilities. Born in Glasgow in 1993, he grew up with a keen interest in dance music, landing his first job at the infamous record shop Rubadub. It was during his tenure there that he took up both music production and DJ'ing under the guidance of his co-workers, who were all very passionate about the scene. His early tracks were darker in tone, but as he started playing more and more gigs, his music became more uplifting. To reflect the change in style, he reversed the name Atlus to Sulta and adopted Denis as a prefix (originally spelled "Dennis," a printing error led him to drop an "n" in favor of Denis). From there he went on to release EPs, eventually setting up his own label and brand, Sulta Selects. Barbour took the brand on a global tour, which became so popular that it spawned a full festival, FLY Open Air: Sulta Selects, held at Hopetoun House just outside of Edinburgh. ~ AllMusic

̸BIOGRAPHY DJ KOOLT Experiencing from the beginning, step by step, the evolution of the electronic scene in Montevideo and influenced since very young by the most avant-garde sounds, nowadays there’s no doubt whatsoever about his being the most relevant model in the Uruguayan scene, after the great influence he has already stamped in several generations of local artists. Certain dj’s manage to go beyond the barrier of just playing music and create an atmosphere with a different energy, a result of mixing good music selection, according to each moment, and an exquisite technique to mix it. These are two features that have marked Eduardo Cardozo aka DJ KOOLT and MR. KOOLT since his very beginnings. Dj Koolt is one of the greatest exponents of the Uruguayan underground scene and a faithful collector of vinyl records. He also earned an European recognition by playing in many great parties such as FUSE (Brussels), Closer (Kiev), Club Eden (Bucharest), Closer (Kiev), Cartulis Music (London), Concrete (Paris), RED58 (Barcelona), OHM and Hoppetosse (Berlin), Goa (Rome) and much more. Playing for 20 friends at an after-hours or for 1000 people at some club, one can easily recognize Edu by a natural characteristic of his: the connection and the trance he is able to create in his audience. In 2013, he and two friends opened Phonotheque, the only club 100% devoted to Underground electronics in Uruguay and one of the best in the region. Few months after opening, Phonotheque became an important reference point at a national and international level and promoting their own style and distancing itself from conventional electronic music.

  • Enzo Muro (Enzo Gutierrez)

Enzo Muro (YKW/Dialogue) Enzo Muro's first taste of electronic music began during the late 90's back in Peru. As an avid partygoer and music enthusiast, Enzo had the privilege to see many of the greats, including Steve Lawer, Peace Division, Carl Cox, Sasha, Pete Tong, Adam Freeland, Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo, DJ Three, H-Foundation, etc... spinning their hearts out in Lima. Good sets and good times instilled in him the passion to play music of his own... Since arriving in LA in 2004, he has been dropping records around LA, Mexico & Peru. As the California liaison for Bamboocha Radio out of Lima, Peru, Enzo has hosted many local djs and special guests in his bedroom studio in recent years. This has been a great opportunity for Enzo to hang out with basically all the djs in the industry on a level outside of the party scene–some tight bonds have derived from these personal encounters. Now, having joined the zealous Electronic Groove team based out of Miami, Enzo has connected a strong link between the U.S. bicoastal network. It’s the perfect match for both parties. Equity is a beautiful thing. The amount of music that Enzo has been exposed to, on his radio show, live streaming or out and about at every show in LA, gives him a broad and tasteful style of music when he djs. One has to step out of the box to acquire such a taste in music. Enzo has played at many festivals in California, Burning Man; and has opened for djs such as Barac, Bill Patrick, tINI, Sepp & Nu Zau, Zip, Priku, Gescu, Thomas Melchior, Hernan Cattaneo, Rampue, Frank & Tony, Mira, Behrouz, Nick Warren, Daniel Bortz, Guy J, to name a few. Enzo is also a resident of Dialogue, one of the most prestigious underground parties in LA, alongside with Halo Varga, Silky & MD. Now he's Co-Founder of YouKnoWhat an underground party that is growing pretty fast and will launch a label very soon (vinyl only). • Felipe Valenzuela

Chilean born, now Berlin based producer, DJ and label owner of Melisma Series, Melisma Limited, Cure Music and Melcure Chile’s profound impact on electronic music is unquestionable. From Ricardo Villalobos to Luciano, the country has punched above its weight when it comes to discerning electronica. Another artist who firmly belongs among such esteemed company is Felipe Valenzuela. Now based in Berlin, Valenzuela is more than a DJ/producer - he’s a qualified sound engineer and a label owner of considerable repute. Prolific, technical and a performer boasting a magical and unique sound, Valenzuela’s musical nous and ability to read a crowd (bolstered by an impeccable collection of hard-to-spot records) has led him to some of the globe’s foremost nightspots. From Amnesia in Ibiza to Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson to Paris’ Concrete, he’s left his mark on some of the world’s most famous ‘floors. Throw in the fact that he’s also held residencies at Club der Visionaire and Hoppetosse in his adopted city of Berlin, and it’s clear that Valenzuela is a special type of DJ. From a label perspective, it’s Valenzuela’s relationship with Dani Casarano for which he is best known. In 2009, the pair launched Melisma (as well as its sister label, Melisma Limited), with both labels quickly earning lofty reputations amongst clued-in DJs and electronic music connoisseurs alike, a reputation that’s garnered label contributions from Ricardo Villalobos, as well as Thomas Melchior & Fumiya Tanaka under their much-respected Tofu Productions alias. Fast forward 8 years and Felipe and Dani, alongside close associate Momo Trosmann, are focusing their attention on a new label, Melcure. A hybrid combination of what makes Melisma - as well as Felipe & Trosmann’s Cure Music - so great. The label kicked off with Melcure000, a double A-sided affair, which featured stunning originals from both Felipe and Dani. The coming months look equally busy, with Felipe set to offer a string of releases under a range of different aliases. With appearances at Sonar as well as his aforementioned label endeavours already under his belt, it’s clear that 2018 is shaping up to be another momentous year for Felipe Valenzuela, the next chapter looks set to be every bit as exciting as what has come before.

  • Héctor Oaks

As one of Europe’s most wanted underground weapons, Héctor Oaks style stands out for playing the unexpected and the highly engaging. As DJ, producer and label head his take on techno resonates by combining the contemporary with hand-picked tracks from the history of rave culture. Héctor Oaks has been behind the turntables for almost half of his life. Gaining his first credits in Madrid's underground, it was when he relocated to Berlin, that his DJing really took off. Not long after his move to the German capital, the trained sound engineer released his first vinyl releases on KEY VINYL. This kick-start into the fertile soils of Berlin’s underground lay the foundation of a career, that has taken off internationally in the past years. It’s the dancefloors that taught this DJ his outstanding empathy and intuition for the sounds, that make a crowd vibrate. Constant practice and the dedication to music shaped his style. Known for his stamina and mixing skills, it is his selection that truly stands out. What seems eclectic on the first sight, is a well-curated mix of vinyl gems. Héctor Oaks seeks for the sweet spot between tracks that are connected not by genre but vibe and style. As vinyl-only DJ, his selection thrives on Oaks’ passion for digging in record shops all around the world. Not to mention the years in Berlin ́s infamous Record Loft, that served the local scene with an outstandingly broad selection of 2nd hand vinyl. When in the mood for a proper rave, you will find Oaks playing under his alias Cadency. The moniker is home to the more explorative side of genres: breaks, ghetto, oomphy grooves and a pinch of funk. As Oaks’s calls it: techno body music gone pop. Cadency’s appearances are rare, so catch them while they’re hot.

  • Jamie Roy

Some artists put their stamp on the scene from afar, whilst others become so immersed in the culture that the line between “real life” and dance music blurs to the point that it ceases to exist. Jamie Roy is a shining example of the latter; as someone who eats, (sometimes) sleeps and breathes clubbing and electronic music in all its forms, his status and reputation as one of Ibiza’s go-to DJs was cemented in 2019 with a brand new residency at the legendary Ushuaia for Nic Fanciulli’s ‘Dance Or Die’ events – a stamp on the scene that can only be made when you’re in the thick of it, and one which marked Jamie Roy as someone who you should sit up and take notice of. And sit up they have. A few short months after the summer closing parties, Jamie hit a career milestone that few will ever achieve and signed a contract with New York’s legendary Ultra Music on the horizon. With the backing of a major label now behind him.

John Dimas found his way into DJing through clubbing. Inspired by the Chicago, Acid House, UK Garage, and Breakbeat he was hearing in Thessaloniki, Greece where he grew up. He bought his first records and taught himself to mix using two belt-driven decks and a homemade mixer that formed part of a high school project. He played his first gig two years later, in 2001, in a tiny bar where he remained as a resident for over four years before moving to Decadance, a larger venue that regularly booked artists from abroad. Dimas was quickly snapped up by a major Greek booking agency and also Red Bull, who signed him a resident DJ for their nationwide party series.

DJing since 2011, New York native John Raffaele has been bringing life to dancefloors in the US and abroad on countless occasions. His tireless work and commitment to nightlife and music culture with his projects Subsurface (party) & Impressions Philly (record store) could be described as an unquenchable thirst for more. After relocating to Philadelphia in 2016, John wasted no time working dancefloors across the city for underground local crews. After 2 years in the Philadelphia circuit, John teamed up with his partner and one of his closest friends, Keen in December 2017 to launch the now accredited warehouse party series- Subsurface, to channel their vision into their own experience to share with others in Philadelphia. Since then they have wasted no time reshaping the mold of underground parties in Philadelphia hosting artists such as Anthony Parasole, Omar S, John Dimas, Steve O’Sullivan, and more recently Hamish & Toby, Brawther, Analog Soul, Christian AB and more with no signs of slowing down. In August of 2020, during the pandemic John had been digging for records at such a frequent rate, and being out of gigs with little income- he spawned Impressions Philadelphia, an online/ pop-up record store, filling a void for dance music record shopping in Philly. Since then, the shop has made a mark on local DJ’s and collectors in the city. As a producer, John has been working behind the scenes tirelessly at developing his sound. After many months/years at work, John will be part of the next forthcoming release on Tbilisi based label- Small Moves alongside collaborators Sweater and Bobby Banks under their alias “Post Play”. • Marcel Dettmann

DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann is recognised as one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno. Widely associated with iconic trademarks including Berlin, Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of electronic music, integrating art with the scene. Raised in the former GDR, in a small town near Berlin, Dettmann had already begun to develop his passion for electronic music in his youth. Bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Front 242, as well as post-punk and industrial, count as his earliest influences, long before he discovered his affinity for techno. His hometown lacked a record store specialising in electronic music, so between 1995 and 1998 Dettmann began selling vinyl from his own home. He purchased records from various distributers, Hard Wax amongst others, both to resell to his friends and to cement the foundation for his own considerable collection. Like many of his friends, the mid-nineties saw Dettmann frequenting Berlin’s nightlife. This included club institutions E-Werk and Tresor where the resident DJs of that time aroused his passion for the Chicago and Detroit influenced sound. In 1999, after many (including self-organised) parties, his turning point came; Dettmann began to work as a resident DJ at Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor. Shortly thereafter upon receiving a job offer from Hard Wax, he finally moved to Berlin. His apprenticeship as a vinyl buyer and seller as well as DJ, granted him an extensive depth of musical knowledge and intuition. Dettmann quests tirelessly for new ways and inspiration to further develop his own concept of electronic music. His label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records) serves as a platform upon which to shape his musical vision, and through its releases, to launch new talent onto the techno scene. As a curator and producer, Dettmann fosters the call to create in a way which is equally timeless and innovative. His own releases comprise two albums on Ostgut Ton, numerous singles and remixes for artists of various genres – Junior Boys, Fever Ray, Moderat, Commix, Clark and Laibach to name a few. Furthermore, he has produced compilation albums for London’s fabric club, Berlin’s Berghain, the Belgian techno label Music Man and one issue of the DJ Kicks compilation series on !K7 imprint. Outside of the club context, Marcel Dettmann has established himself as a multi-faceted artist. He designed the sound concept for „New Works“, an exhibition of photographer Frederike von Rauch, contributed to the contemporary dance project „Masse“ – together with Frank Wiedemann and choreographer Nadja Saidakowa in cooperation with Berghain and the Berlin State Ballet. His single “Seduction feat. Emika” provided the soundtrack to director and screenwriter Parker Ellerman’s short film of the same name. As a passionate DJ and one of the faces of Berghain, Dettmann seeks to inspire his listeners with sounds both reduced and rough, balanced by emotional and surprising moments throughout his sets. Between pure techno, banging Chicago, tracks old and new of the past twenty-five years, Marcel Dettmann communicates his message with an apparent effortlessness.

Mario is the mastermind behind Deep In Dis & TCR. labels. Paris local, Rawax artist and pioneer resident DJ for Un_Mute Miami. Born and raised in Lima, Perú but with deep roots in Miami, The Un_Mute resident disc jockey is not a new face in our scene. Being one of the pioneer resident deejays for the collective in charge to keep the underground sounds alive in the States, has gained Mario the experience and opportunity to share the booth with some of the most respected electronic artists around. But that is just the beginning... After a few years, he created the duo 'Sons Of Immigrants' with his Chilean friend Rafael (Pinguino) and that's when the affair with drum machines and synthesizers started to get more serious and they were able to achieve their own sound, the SOi sound. with following vinyl releases in prestigious labels like Pleasure Zone from Frankfurt or Amam from Italy just to name a few. In 2020 Mario started his creative platform Deep In Dis International and moved to Paris and that's when things got even more serious! With the pandemic hitting us all around the world, he took the time to locked himself in the studio and started to release music in some of his favorite labels out there like the iconic Rawax, Howl Records, Threads, Pachinko, Sentaku, Piros and many more. Naturally, Mario turned some heads in the industry and it wasn't so long until he started being a regular deejay in the Parisian scene and around Europe as well. Deep In Dis Showcases and parties in cities like New York, Miami, Paris and Lima combined with gigs in Barcelona, Berlin, Viena, London and many other cities, Mario still found the time to pull out another rabbit out of the hat!. He started his white label TCR. , focusing on releasing heavy sampled tracks and re-edits with the support of the biggest names in the underground scene like Ricardo Villalobos, Arapu, Priku, Anthea, Tini and many, many more. The eclecticism of his musical taste and continued artistic development make his sessions unpredictable but always with the dance-floor in mind. House, Techno, New Beat, Acid House or Breakbeat are some of the styles you will encounter if you have the chance to catch one of his sets. Highly recommend!. . “Nicolas lutz has been influenced by his father's record collection”....Errr., NOT.. As much as I wouldn't like to discard one's childhood influences to forming one's artistic make up (that is not Nico's case anyway, hehe) I would still prefer to focus on other aspects which are equally, if not more important when talking about this specific artist. What that artist name (and real name) entails is a very deep trip into an extremely creative mind, a very interesting one. The main and very special aspect of what makes Nicolas Lutz him artistically is the ethos in how he stands by his music, his vision. Nicolas' medium of choice is vinyl and the cultural tradition it brings with it. In such a digital age the tendency from the general public to think that Djs that only use vinyl are ‘dinosaurs’or ‘behind’ or ‘limited’ is apparent and the beauty about Nicolas is that he proves them wrong leaving them wondering what has hit them on a dance floor. Here is where the most special thing that makes up...

Nina Kraviz is one of techno’s most iconic DJs. Famous for both her dynamic and varied DJ sets, captivating performances and her acclaimed label трип (Trip), she’s been a techno powerhouse since she launched on the scene in 2009. In 2020, she played a series of live stream events and virtual festivals including an empty Dance Arena at EXIT and even on top of Mount Olympus in Greece. She also collaborated with streaming giants Spotify when she was chosen to be part of their trackID series, providing a regularly updated playlist to the platform that includes tracks from her own label as well as a diverse collection of releases from across multiple genres. That genre-hopping is also evident in her sets, where trance, techno, ambient and hardstyle can all be heard in one swoop, with her inimitable presence in the booth adding to the allure of Kraviz’s sets. As the DJ who played the most sets of any other in 2018, we’re sure she’ll be the first to hit the road again once it’s safe to do so. ~ DJMag

  • Raphael Carrau

... A crew of drummers parades down a dusky Montevideo street, filling the neighbourhood with an irresistible beat that draws every single neighbour out onto their window, balcony and rooftop. A young Raphael Carrau sits at his terrace for the entire procession, entranced by the visceral thump-thump that will lead him, decades later, to where he is now: bobbing behind a pair of decks at Cartulis, his very own contribution to the world of London clubbing. Raised on a steady diet of hip hop, bossa nova and the kind of psychedelic rock that Brazil knows how to do so well, Rapha landed in London in 2011 only to rediscover his love for music, this time from a dance floor. An obsession was born, with the Brazilian-Uruguayan DJ taking his time to pick through any record bin he came across—because "you never know when your lucky day might come". It's this optimism that has infused the way he strings tracks together and become the driving ethos behind his participation in London's Cartulis collective. Alongside colleague-turned-brother Unai Trotti, the project aims to sensitise the local dance music scene by doing away with the flash and posturing—replacing it with an unwavering dedication to quality music and positive experiences. Rapha's sound is characterised by an inclination for everything from house and its deeper manifestations to floor-cracking techno, peppered with the odd break and minimal interlude. The underlying theme? "Character". Character that has, in this case, taken him across Europe and the Americas as he shares his sensibilities with the denizens of dance floors who, without knowing it, might have also come upon their lucky day.

  • Rebekah

Generally billed just by her first name, Rebekah Teasdale is a DJ and producer from Birmingham, England who has been active since the mid-'90s. Like most figures of the Birmingham techno scene, her tracks are often hard, dark, and minimalist, with heavy pounding beats and gradual suspenseful development. An avid clubgoer since her youth, she began spinning records in 1996, at the age of 16. She spent several years as a model in order to provide financial support for her DJ career. She released an edit of the Mighty Dub Katz's house anthem "It's Just Another Groove" in 2004, but her first original productions, starting with 2007's "Toad in a Hole," were minimal tech-house. By the early 2010s, her sound had gotten darker and heavier, and she eventually caught the attention of Chris Liebing, who released Rebekah's Cycles EP on his CLR label in 2013. ~ AllMusic

It’s been 10 years since Robert James first decided to drop everything and head to the mystical island of Ibiza for what was to be a life-changing season. Over the past decade he has gained the respect of his peers, idols and fans alike, combining a deep-seated love for house and techno with a natural flair and the kind of experience one can only achieve through a constant flow of gigs. Renowned as an adept producer too, Rob has travelled the world, spinning records at a long list of highly respected, influential clubs with residencies at El Row and Paradise (DC10) plus a slew of international gigs. In recent times he has invested his time and energy into setting up several new projects outside of his solo work, allowing him to explore his eclectic tastes further. As these projects begin to come fruition Rob is preparing for a new phase of his career, and he couldn’t be more excited… That first season on the White Island led to two more consecutive summers, during which time Rob made the connections that formed the foundation of his success. In Ibiza he became good friends with a young Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed and all the faces who eventually formed the Hot Creations crew. Since 2011 he has continued to grow in stature, picking up bookings for the opening and closing parties at legendary party Circoloco at DC10 every summer, landing a residency at Jamie Jones' Paradise nights, spinning at fabric, Panorama Bar, Space Ibiza, and a myriad gigs across North and South America, Croatia, France, Hungary, Holland and Australia just to name a few of the countries where he’s been booked to perform.
Rob places great importance on the art of DJing, crafting intricate, groovy sets, rather than relying on high-impact effects to entertain the crowd. Just as comfortable warming up the terrace at DC10 as he is playing the sunset at a summertime festival or peak time at Warehouse Project, Rob is inspired by master selectors like Craig Richards and Andrew Weatherall, and his penchant for playing vinyl and smooth transitions places him in a class of his own. In 2016 he took to the airwaves for the first time, landing a weekly show with Ibiza Sonica. During a summer of scintillating broadcasts he had a cast of star guests including The Martinez Brothers, Cassy, Stacey Pullen, Ryan Elliot, Craig Richards, Claude VonStroke and many more. Alongside his DJing, Rob has had a consistent flow of well-received EPs, including the killer ‘Malibu EP’ with Burnski back in 2010 and, more recently, ‘Seagate’ on Steve Lawler’s VIVa Music in 2015. Now Rob is injecting his years of experience on the road and depth of knowledge into several projects that have allowed him to explore his wide-ranging tastes. He has teamed with his friends Death On The Balcony to form Same Frequency, placing the dance floor in their sights with their groovy, bass-heavy cuts. He is also investing time into disco-inspired music under the name Bobby Jam, and launching his own party brand ‘BODY MVMT’, an invite-only soiree which aims to breathe life back into London’s day party scene. With a booking policy that is places importance on music ahead of big names, BODY MVMT reflects Rob’s discerning tastes. On top of all this, he’s been toiling away on a top-secret collaborative project which is soon to surface and explores his love for deep techno. Watch this space…
In the decade since he first decided to head to Ibiza Robert James has gone from strength to strength, achieving a dizzying array of prestigious club and festival bookings, while maintaining a consistent level of dedication to his craft and spending time refining his production skills. Now, with an array of new projects in motion, he is looking forward to a new phase of his career with a renewed zeal. Through multiple channels, he is seemingly everywhere and all at once. By age 8, he was fascinated by the intricacies and subtleties of quality sound. He became possessed by the relationship of frequency and acoustics, through many genres. As a teen, he was mentored by his father and uncle on the fundamentals of setting up his sound system. Influenced by the Mexican electronic music scene, and inspired by his hometown DJs, Robert was driven to bring more diversity to South Texas. The inception of his career as a DJ/Promoter was brought to life by 18. Through beach-raves, utilizing generators and local talent, he first showcased his understanding and passion for music. This sent waves through his community sparking a new scene in South Texas, allowing Robert to host international DJs at his club residency for the following two years. His motivation to expand his knowledge brought him to Austin, TX, to attend audio engineering school and immerse himself into the Austin electronic music scene. Robert’s ambition for a select caliber of sound led him to spearhead Movement Collective, a party-series based in Berlin and Austin, hosting multiple residencies throughout his tenure. The “movement” this inspired in Austin, ignited Blacktone, an agency and party series, founded by Robert’s friends and colleagues which he is now a part of. Furthering his relentless mission to develop and share diverse music, Robert co-founded ubiyu, a record label and party series in Austin, TX. Ubiyu currently hosts two monthly residencies to showcase their roster of international DJ’s and is steadily releasing digital and vinyl EP’s. Robert's appetite for sublime sound and a unique range of selection will never be satiated. Stay tuned.

On the contrary, his is one that that’s as attributable to a ceaseless work ethic as it is a music-loving upbringing and an unyielding appreciation of sound. Fascinated by all things percussion, Toman began learning the drums in his early teens, a move that would eventually steer him toward what he considers the “unrestrictive complexities of electronic music”. A producer with an endlessly eclectic palette, Toman cites the likes of Underworld, Minilogue, and Terry Lee Brown Jr as influences, all of whom attest in some way to his own eclectic palette. ̸BIOGRAPHY Z@P - House & Techno DJ/Producer from Montevideo, Uruguay. Now based in Berlin In Fernando Zapico, one can find a rare combination: a producer with a talent for creating timeless pieces of electronic dance music, who at the same time is able to shine bright as a selector and club DJ. What is it about Z@p that has made him such an idiosyncratic spirit in a sea of fresh DJs and producers emerging on a daily basis? One could look at his background; after all, being native to Uruguay, a grail of modern dance music with a rich legacy to learn from, definitely helps. Yet a strong infatuation with club culture and electronic music since the early 2000´s in the Montevideo scene has fostered him to develop and progress on a consistent basis. This same fascination led him to meet and become affiliated with the crew behind Phonotheque, a club and collective of which he is now a lifelong resident. Yet Nando is not just a representation of a culture but a representation of himself, of his edge. Perhaps this edge is the way to look at his music. Operating within a framework of conventional dance music, Z@p, as a DJ, is universally aligned to deliver his signature sound in various settings for various crowds. The beats are all-consuming, tension builds and releases organically, and there is not much left but to dance the night away under his skillful lead. But once you get sucked into the atmosphere, dissonance, carefully placed disruptions, otherworldly basslines, resonating acid, bended vocals, and seemingly contradicting narratives appear and start taking you on a whole other trip. Listening to an experienced and well-versed DJ express himself and utilize his skills, you’re bound to go on a layered and complex journey that is both captivating, empowering, and thought-provoking. Since 2015, the Uruguayan started touring Europe more and more frequently until 2018 when he finally bit the bullet and moved to Berlin permanently. Nowadays, he is a resident of both Phonotheque and Cartulis Music, two institutions pushing electronic music forward in the Americas and Europe, respectively. He continues to tour and be a frequent guest at some of the best clubs in the world, yet somehow he manages to be a tour de force when it comes to production, consistently putting out tracks that electronic music fans all around the world treasure and appreciate. These releases under some of the most influential labels of our time, such as My Own Jupiter, Time Passages, and Cabaret Recordings just to name a few, have set new standards for contemporary dance music to aspire to. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Signal Kommt / Basic Moves 13 / 2020 Z@p / Brutalismo EP / My Own Jupiter 2019 Z@P / Mayday / Cabaret Recordings / 2019 Z@P / Phonotools Vol.1 / Phonotheque Recordings / 2018 Z@P / Tracid EP / Cartulis Music / CRTL006 / 2018 Z@P / Sonic Utopia EP / Melliflow / 2016
