DJ Liondub comes correct. An authentic product of Brooklyn, his musical mindset was formed at the crossroads of major international bass vibrations originating from Jamaica, NYC and the UK. Inspired by the global rhythm culture emanating from the streets beneath his feet, Liondub has spent a lifetime pounding that very pavement in pursuit of his passion for bottom-heavy beats.

Armed with raw talent, right intentions, a humble demeanor and the tireless determination of a true New Yorker, he began DJing back in '91. As a 17 year old sound system selector hustling in the Lower East Side of the Dinkins-era, Liondub embarked on a journey that has since taken him to the four corners of the dub diaspora; from Jamaican Roots Reggae to the Jungle depths of the UK, from high up on Hip-Hop to down-low on Dubstep. Along the way he has studied under great masters, paid untold dues and kept it Bed-Sty real in the name of music; all-the-while sharpening skills, developing expertise and establishing critical relationships across geographic and sonic divides. From NYC he criss-crossed North America and from London he conquered Europe, all the while cultivating roots in his home-away-from-home, Jamaica. Always armed with a current arsenal of jungle/dubstep & reggae dubplate specials, Liondub's soulful, explosive, unique, and precise sets have gone down a storm on stages shared by a lengthy list of legends and luminaries including Sly & Robbie, The Fugees, Sister Nancy, Johnny Osbourne, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, The Beatnuts, Smith & Mighty, DJ Kush, Afrika Baambaata, Jazzy Jay, DJ Hype, Andy C, Loefah, Goldie, Pinch, Kryptic Minds and Damian Marley to name but a few. Emerging from the shadows of giants, Liondub's mixes have moved him into the spotlight with recent podcast exclusives airing on urb.com, the dubspot blog, and kmag.co.uk, home of the highly influential Knowledge Magazine.

Between stints as a wax warrior one can find Liondub in the studio honing the flipside of his craft. His steady stream of productions converged with the with Toronto-based producer Marcus Visionary resulting in the launch of Liondub International. The label has been sending massive waves through the sub-frequency obsessed bandwidth, peaking (so far) with "The General" featuring Jahdan Blakkamoore, a riddim co-produced with Matt Shadetek of the Dutty Arts crew that has been tipped as one of the top Ragga-influenced dubstep tracks of 2009. With ongoing support from baller jocks like Annie, Nightingale, Rusko, Ramadanman, Remarc, Benny Page,
Chrissy Chris and MJ Cole, 2010 looks to be a year of exceptional promise for the upstart international imprint.

So whether behind the decks as a DJ, behind the boards as a producer / engineer or behind the scenes as a label executive, event producer and record shop buyer, it is Liondub's uncommon ability to flow between these kindred yet surprisingly disparate musical spheres that distinguishes his creative vision and defines his professional ethos. What emerges from Liondub's wide angle view of Dub history is an improbable yet fresh way forward that balances the warm soul and raw spontaneity of a Kingston Dancehall sound system with the exacting precision of a London Drum and Bass technician. After 13 years behind the decks he continues to create dance floor history performing for packed crowds of 5,000 or more all over the USA and around the world as a headlining DJ and promoter of his own monthly parties “Nerotic“ and “Lost and Found”. In New York City he has main floor residency and headlining appearances in just about every single Superclub including Limelight, Roxy, Sound Factory and 5 years at the legendary Tunnel. By 2002 Anthony was headlining at Club Exit, the biggest club in the USA, playing his famous 8 hour plus marathon sets, taking the masses on a journey every Saturday night after which world famous DJ Junior Vasquez would split the night going on after him at 6 am. With the success of this Saturday night party, Club Exit gave Anthony his own Friday night and the rest is history. In 2005 he started his own promotion company Nerotic Entertainment and in 2009 he started a monthly residency at Pacha NYC, voted the #1 Superclub (2007, 2008, 2009) three years in a row by Club World Awards. The success of his “Nerotic Parties” at Pacha, Webster Hall and China Club led him to start the "Lost & Found" parties with fellow Tunnel DJ YentalBeats. Anthony has been voted multiple times by “Time Out” magazine as one of New York’s Top 5 DJs and he won the New York DMC World Award as the “youngest DJ” to do house mixes. Anthony's favorite gigs are residencies where he packs the room with wall to wall partiers going nuts from the raw energy of his music and mixes that pushes them over the top– hour after hour. “The more I move the crowd the more they move me. As the founder and creative head of Liquid Sky Music and Liquid Sky D-Sign, he has been responsible for some of the most forward-thinking music and clothing to emerge from the New York City underground over the last several years. In 1994, he released the Jungle Liquid Sky/Ethiopia 12", the first release on Jungle Sky Records, and the first drum and bass record by a US producer. The second 12", Abducted/Jungle Bossanova, is now a classic, and inspired an entire album of remixes (Missing Time - The Abducted Remixes). Since then, he has released several singles, such as the seminal Diana/Theresa white label with DJ Wally, as well as appearing on every one of the This Is Jungle Sky compilations. In 1997, Soul Slinger released his first full-length album, Don't Believe, a record of surprising diversity and genre-hopping. While Don't Believe is a reflection of Soul Slinger's production skills, Upload, his continuous mix CD, is a display of what he can do to move the dancefloor. Just in from the funny farm, Mentally Ill has prepared to deliver you a mind-altering bass heavy set. A 10 year patient of the tech 1200 program, Mentally Ill has gripped on to reality just long enough to figure out how to converse with turntables everywhere in order to manipulate the vinyl he spins with them. So strap on your helmets and tighten your straightjackets, the voices in his head are saying that it may be a bumpy ride.......or not.....but probably....maybe.....its hard to tell. Judge for yourself. Either way he's definitely committed.....or at least he will be again soon. Watch out for the men in white!!! In the past he has broken out of countless mental wards to play in places such as N.Y.C., Syracuse, Utica and a number of other upstate NY locations. He has crossed state borders to play in CT, MA, VT and even made it out of the states and all the way to Montreal to share his insanity before the voices caught up with him and told him to return. Being from Albany he has played a key role in keeping the e.d.m. scene alive in the 518, by holding several weeklies and monthlies in the area over the years. In the past he and a band of nutters that went by the name of Massive Audio, which he was a co-founder of, brought you the Eidolon parties (aka-Haunted Castle Party). Currently he has been focusing on organizing recreational events for like minded individuals, such as Bass Fix at Red Square in Albany NY, under the supervision of DNBC of course. His style has broadened over the last year or so, causing him to delve into genres such as dubstep and more preferably drumstep, but he always keeps the bass heavy and the beats fresh. He has also been known to rock the decks with fellow DNBC member and the only lady that can handle his mental condition and mind state, better known as Leila. Put the two of them on stage together, and there's no telling what level of madness will incur. Crowds are left questioning their own sanity. The Untouchables is a collaboration of Belgium-based Kay & Nitrox that started at the dawn of the new Millenium. The duo specialises in the dark and tribal dub side of drum and bass and has an impressive catalogue of releases on genre-defining labels such as Samurai Music, Rupture, Cylon, Renegade Hardware, 457, Transaltion, DNO, Alphacut and Mutable Beats. Their sound outlines a wide array of musical styles – from minimal, to dubby, to deep, percussive halfstep - all that bathed in distorted, fleshy bass. Kay's ability to blend heavy bass lines and percussion is unparalleled. The oldskool influences of yesteryear are key to her approach to drum and bass. Nitrox is the co-founder of the original Universal Project.
