As a phototropic flower, powering its way to the light through dense foliage, AAGUU is keen to find a stretch of your soul to soundtrack with his music. Mirroring the dynamics in the tropical rain forests of Goa where he resides, his inquisitive mind operates intuitively to illuminate fleeting moments of existence. His purpose is manifold: connecting the dots for dancers, elevating the spirit of the reveller, respecting the journey of the individual. AAGUU’s wide-eyed innocence and natural curiosity to build stories informs his blessed touch, shaping ephemeral memories with music. For an inkling into the vibe that AAGUU creates, you can trace its footprints on the sandy beaches of Anjuna all the way back to the Goa parties: genre fluid electronic body music punching up into the air, a heady mix of freedom & psychedelia; DJs casting levitation spells. He treasures this ‘sacred arena of the imagination’. It’s an aural & visual playground where the journey is as crucial as the destination.

Acid Pauli aka Martin Gretschmann Over the last 20 years Martin Gretschmann has been exploring new fields of music off the mainstream paths: psychedelic, adventurous and full of musicality. • Adriatique

After getting to know each other in Zürich in 2008, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer became inseparable, not just as friends, but also as artists. The two men carved out a career as one of the most consistently delivering DJ/producer duos in the house and techno scene: Adriatique. The key to an enduring partnership is, of course, to complement each other, and the two Adrians do so admirably. Music-wise, their various tastes combine into one unique sound, and their respective preference for studio work and performance means that both aspects are equally well covered. Adriatique’s DJ performances as well as their productions are long, meditative, relentlessly building affairs, ever challenging the listener with subtle twists interrupting their hypnotic groove. There is more to the duo than just a well-oiled electronic music machine, however. They also live together, draw plans together, and support art in all its forms together. ~ Official Website

  • Amaliah

̸BIOGRAPHY Amaliah is a London based DJ and producer with an eclectic taste in sound. She also runs her own label, 'Borne Fruits'. Borne Fruits boss and Rinse FM staple Amaliah commands the rave as one of London’s most exciting artists, hybridizing modern house and techno sounds with global club cuts rooted in a love of soundsystem culture. Emerging from a lineage of inspired ravers immersed in the wide-eyed rush of dubstep’s golden era at Plastic People and London’s vibrant soundsystem culture, Amaliah has transcended these proud influences to stake her own inimitable claim within her native city’s ever-crowded clubbing landscape. Her DJ sets are signified by a purposeful energy informed by years of raving, where she unleashes anything from prog-laden house cuts alongside tribal techno pumpers before diving headfirst into percussive bass warpers and beyond. Crucially, these eclectic club styles sing harmoniously under her exhilarating party stewardship, exposing years of record digging and a general obsession with electronic music. This is exhibited with an impressive archive of mixes for the likes of Boiler Room, Crack Magazine, Hör and a much-loved Rinse FM residency, while also in standout sets at venerable institutions Panorama Bar, De School and Fabric and at festivals like Glastonbury, Love International, Gala and Waterworks. 2019 saw Amaliah establish Borne Fruits, a party collective-turned-label where she made her production debut with Borne Fruits 001 before a further various artists compilation release Club Entry Vol. 1 and an 2 track edits single with venerable Derry hero Or:la titled Y2SLAY followed to great acclaim. More solo productions of hers have dropped since on Earful Of Wax and her own imprint, characterized by driving and playful percussion and an unadulterated raver’s energy built for maximum club impact. This exciting year ahead sees Amaliah joining the Hessle Audio trio at Glastonbury for their The Wow stage takeover, making her debut at Draaimolen Festival and hosting a boat party at Love International as well as a b2b with Aletha at the festival's The Garden Stage. Her label and own productions continue apace too, with a forthcoming bumper-packed Borne Fruits compilation and a highly anticipated full solo debut EP prepped for the end of this year; all of this proving her boundless talent reaching unfathomable heights over the coming months.

Two friends meet outside Karlsruhe, in Schwarzwald. One is an explorer of galaxies far away, the other a composer of fragments. Together they create a joie de vivre, arranging and deconstructing their creations, their own formations. Beneath their feet, a stone world rests against the living world, touching rivers, mountains, forest floors and the first foot trails between Schwarzwald, Vosges Mountains and Naturpark Pfälzerwald. This stone world is made of smooth subterranean rock that swirls and folds. Altered from its original igneous by pressures a hundred thousand years strong. What was once sharp is now smooth. Lines become curves, reversals. If you were to try read its origin, its strata, you would not tell which direction the past flowed or the future began.

  • Danielle

̸BIOGRAPHY When a true selector takes flight, it sounds as though they re-mould each track to fit their specific vision. That’s exactly the effect Danielle has as a DJ, drawing across stylistic divides to create an instinctive groove which is all her own. On top of a foundational core of house, techno and electro she folds in myriad sonic wildcards to create dynamic, innovative variations on the club music experience. It’s logical her tastes would be omnivorous – Danielle spent 10 years working at fabled London record shop Phonica, one of the definitive destinations for dance music in the city, as well as a lengthy tenure at iconic Bristol store Idle Hands. Being across new releases week in, week out is one thing, but knowing how to stitch them together is another. From the breakthrough years perfecting the craft of a great warm-up to her long-standing residency on NTS Radio since 2017, Danielle shaped her approach to DJing from a free-thinking, fluid angle which still rings true now she’s more commonly found at the top of the bill. Danielle’s DJing has touched upon vital events, venues and locations around the world, from touring the US and playing flagship festivals like Glastonbury, Dimensions, Kala and Love International, to clubs like DC10, Fabric, The White Hotel, Corsica Studios and Tresor, holding down a residency season for Colour Factory in London and Left Bank in Tbilisi, and frequently picked for parties as revered as Timedance, Herrensauna and Livity Sound. In tandem, her skills have been recognised by key publications including Mixmag, DJ Mag (she was nominated as a best breakthrough DJ in 2020) and Resident Advisor. Beyond her own DJ work (she’s also a frequent contributor to many a mix series), Danielle also takes the time to impart her experience and knowledge to the next generation via her classes at Mix Nights – a non-profit organisation she helped set up seven years ago to encourage women and non-binary people to explore the art of DJing. Elsewhere, she works in an A&R and consultancy capacity for Team Love – a role which speaks to her consistent instinct for new developments within club music. Similarly, her label Soft Raw was founded in 2022 as a platform to champion the fresh talent she comes across in her position as a revered DJ. All these elements feed into the overall mission Danielle is on, pursuing her love of dynamic, physical soundsystem music with errant coding in its DNA. Keyed into new revolutions in the ever-evolving culture of the dancefloor, Danielle melds her impeccable taste together with fierce commitment and flair, delivering the impulse to move and presenting wholly new ideas to any crowd, any party, any time, anywhere.

  • DAR DISKU

̸BIOGRAPHY Dar Disku is an independent record label and dj collective founded in 2019 and based between London and Bahrain - championing the sounds of the Middle East, Asia and beyond. 'Dar-Disku' comes from the 1970s Egyptian pop culture magazine of the same name and directly translates into 'home of the disco'. Dar Disku is a label celebrating music from across Arabia. Founded by Mazen AlMaskati and Vish Matre in 2019; the label encompasses all things High NRG, New Beat, Strange and Pure. Growing up less than a mile apart in Bahrain with a shared fascination with discovering new music, the duo quickly bonded over digging for unheard rarities and burning mixtapes to show friends and strangers, and till today, this remains changed. Whether at a house party, over a traditional Bahraini meal or at a local underground gig, chats about left field music would always spiral from one artist to the next and back, but more and more, talks about music turned into talks about culture and soon enough; home. Mazen and Vish left Bahrain with pockets full of Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk and Benga. But looking back across the water, the music their parents played on dusty turntables, the art and culture that surrounded them their entire lives became more than nostalgic, it became hypnotically fascinating. From learning about the microtonal arrangements in Farsi music to learning south Indian polyrhythms and the almost forgotten 1970s punk rock and psychedelia movements in Egypt, Lebanon and Iran, they couldn’t help but think, what comes next? Both have spent the last few years discovering incredible sub-genres such as Khaliji hiNRG, Rai, ArabiDisco, Habibi House, Sawt and Bollywood and within quick succession, Dar Disku has shared the stage with artists such as Four Tet, Habibi Funk, Nabihah Iqbal, Young Marco, Palms Trax and Esa and have played iconic venues and festivals across the world (recent stops include Mumbai, Istanbul, Paris, Bahrain, Lost Village Festival, Lovebox Festival, Glastonbury Festival & more). Dar Disku have also been featured on Nabihah Iqbal's BBC Radio residency, for which they curated a guest mix inspired by night time drives in Bahrain, featured as Mixmag's 'Breakthrough DJ of 2021' and have recently been named as residents on the iconic Worldwide FM. The label's first release 'DD 001' featured a heavyweight edit from label collaborator 'Moving Still' and has received critical acclaim from the likes of Resident Advisor, Clash, Mille World and i-D. Fast forward into summer 2019, Dar Disku Records have released DD002, a Moving Still edit of 'Sidi Mansour' by Algerian pop star, 'Cheba Yamina' (Resident Advisor Track of the Year). Their latest 'DD003 and DD004' releases have been played on dance-floors from London to Lisbon, Mumbai to Moscow and Amsterdam to Amman by the likes of DJ Seinfeld, Esa, Job, Palms Trax, Hunee and more. Mixmag recently named 'DD005' as one of their 'best EP's of 2022'. With five releases already under the belt, they continue to dig deeper into the forgotten crates of the middle-east. Dar Disku's live sets have been described as “a journey across Arabia and beyond delving into a voyage into the unknown”, switching from 'skippy dance rhythms to boisterous traditional folk instrumentals' . With bookings such as Boiler Room and Palms Trax' XOYO residency - one thing for certain, however, is their tendency to create eclectic and spontaneous selections which transport audiences into lands far away. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY DAR DISKU 001 DAR DISKU 002 DAR DISKU 003 DAR DISKU 004 DAR DISKU 005

  • Denis Sulta

Glasgow-based DJ/producer Hector Barbour (aka Denis Sulta) creates vivacious, melodic house with underground sensibilities. Born in Glasgow in 1993, he grew up with a keen interest in dance music, landing his first job at the infamous record shop Rubadub. It was during his tenure there that he took up both music production and DJ'ing under the guidance of his co-workers, who were all very passionate about the scene. His early tracks were darker in tone, but as he started playing more and more gigs, his music became more uplifting. To reflect the change in style, he reversed the name Atlus to Sulta and adopted Denis as a prefix (originally spelled "Dennis," a printing error led him to drop an "n" in favor of Denis). From there he went on to release EPs, eventually setting up his own label and brand, Sulta Selects. Barbour took the brand on a global tour, which became so popular that it spawned a full festival, FLY Open Air: Sulta Selects, held at Hopetoun House just outside of Edinburgh. ~ AllMusic

  • Marcel Dettmann

DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann is recognised as one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno. Widely associated with iconic trademarks including Berlin, Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of electronic music, integrating art with the scene. Raised in the former GDR, in a small town near Berlin, Dettmann had already begun to develop his passion for electronic music in his youth. Bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Front 242, as well as post-punk and industrial, count as his earliest influences, long before he discovered his affinity for techno. His hometown lacked a record store specialising in electronic music, so between 1995 and 1998 Dettmann began selling vinyl from his own home. He purchased records from various distributers, Hard Wax amongst others, both to resell to his friends and to cement the foundation for his own considerable collection. Like many of his friends, the mid-nineties saw Dettmann frequenting Berlin’s nightlife. This included club institutions E-Werk and Tresor where the resident DJs of that time aroused his passion for the Chicago and Detroit influenced sound. In 1999, after many (including self-organised) parties, his turning point came; Dettmann began to work as a resident DJ at Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor. Shortly thereafter upon receiving a job offer from Hard Wax, he finally moved to Berlin. His apprenticeship as a vinyl buyer and seller as well as DJ, granted him an extensive depth of musical knowledge and intuition. Dettmann quests tirelessly for new ways and inspiration to further develop his own concept of electronic music. His label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records) serves as a platform upon which to shape his musical vision, and through its releases, to launch new talent onto the techno scene. As a curator and producer, Dettmann fosters the call to create in a way which is equally timeless and innovative. His own releases comprise two albums on Ostgut Ton, numerous singles and remixes for artists of various genres – Junior Boys, Fever Ray, Moderat, Commix, Clark and Laibach to name a few. Furthermore, he has produced compilation albums for London’s fabric club, Berlin’s Berghain, the Belgian techno label Music Man and one issue of the DJ Kicks compilation series on !K7 imprint. Outside of the club context, Marcel Dettmann has established himself as a multi-faceted artist. He designed the sound concept for „New Works“, an exhibition of photographer Frederike von Rauch, contributed to the contemporary dance project „Masse“ – together with Frank Wiedemann and choreographer Nadja Saidakowa in cooperation with Berghain and the Berlin State Ballet. His single “Seduction feat. Emika” provided the soundtrack to director and screenwriter Parker Ellerman’s short film of the same name. As a passionate DJ and one of the faces of Berghain, Dettmann seeks to inspire his listeners with sounds both reduced and rough, balanced by emotional and surprising moments throughout his sets. Between pure techno, banging Chicago, tracks old and new of the past twenty-five years, Marcel Dettmann communicates his message with an apparent effortlessness.

“Nicolas lutz has been influenced by his father's record collection”....Errr., NOT.. As much as I wouldn't like to discard one's childhood influences to forming one's artistic make up (that is not Nico's case anyway, hehe) I would still prefer to focus on other aspects which are equally, if not more important when talking about this specific artist. What that artist name (and real name) entails is a very deep trip into an extremely creative mind, a very interesting one. The main and very special aspect of what makes Nicolas Lutz him artistically is the ethos in how he stands by his music, his vision. Nicolas' medium of choice is vinyl and the cultural tradition it brings with it. In such a digital age the tendency from the general public to think that Djs that only use vinyl are ‘dinosaurs’or ‘behind’ or ‘limited’ is apparent and the beauty about Nicolas is that he proves them wrong leaving them wondering what has hit them on a dance floor. Here is where the most special thing that makes up...

She also collaborated with streaming giants Spotify when she was chosen to be part of their trackID series, providing a regularly updated playlist to the platform that includes tracks from her own label as well as a diverse collection of releases from across multiple genres. • Polynation

Dutch producer-duo Polynation stormed the scene in 2015 with their lustrous debut EP Allogamy. Adopting both rhythmic tension and a wide range of acoustic and electronic tools, Stijn Hosman and Hessel Stuut gradually translated their intricate studio finesse to the more improvisational, spontaneous dynamic of live performance. In the process, tracks like ‘Why You’ and ‘Anther’ amassed wide international acclaim, earning airplay by Gilles Peterson on BBC6 and performing festivals like Amsterdam Dance Event, Best Kept Secret, Eurosonic and Pitch Festival. In May 2019, Polynation’s full-length debut Igneous is released on Atomnation - a product of two laborious years of studio tinkering.

  • Spencer

Calum Morton, AKA Spencer, is one of those DJ’s hiding in plain sight, a consistent source of stylish party-starting sets that get crowds and his peers buzzing. A thoughtful, committed and loquacious behind-the-scenes force in UK electronic music, he embarked on his journey of planning parties, releasing records and the beautiful intersection of possibilities in-between as a teenager, working in Glasgow’s world-renowned record shop and distributor Rubadub. It’s one of the many institutions that have counted on Spencer’s passion and expertise at various points over the years, including time spent working at Warp Records and as the spark driving event and lecture highlights from the Red Bull Music Academy. But he’s predominantly (and rightfully) known for being the A&R scout, events wizard, resident DJ, and sturdy pillar of support shaping all manner of activities by the Scotland-based record label and creative collective Numbers, which he co-founded in 2003 and now primarily manages alongside his brother Neil. If you’ve enjoyed Numbers records over the years – from artists like SOPHIE, Hudson Mohawke, DJ Deeon, Rustie, Jessie Ware, Jamie XX, Mosca and more – or lost your head at one of their inimitable parties, it’s likely that Spencer was at work on the records or the decks. He’s helped the label forge its global reputation in exporting the best of UK electronic music worldwide, with a sharp ear, commitment to original expression, and a deep love for the musical innovators that came before, to which he – and all of us – owe the utmost respect. Touring as a DJ for Numbers and Warp, putting together genre-busting educational and festival programs in New York, Paris, Montréal, Berlin and Tokyo, playing events at Panorama Bar, Sonár, Dommune, and Boiler Room, plus seasonal Numbers blowouts, he delivers killer mixes of music both on and off the dancefloor. Aiming for and chasing the high of the perfect track at the right time in the right place, Spencer has the musical knowledge and surefire selection that means he hits the mark right-on.

  • Toman

Now based in Amsterdam, he moved to the Dutch capital in early 2018 — and has barely had time to pause for breath since. A producer who boasts an impressively prolific streak, Toman started his musical journey at an early age. More recently, his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets such as We R House, Cyclic, META, No Art, PIV, Blind Vision and Inermu, yet Toman’s story is no overnight success. On the contrary, his is one that that’s as attributable to a ceaseless work ethic as it is a music-loving upbringing and an unyielding appreciation of sound. Fascinated by all things percussion, Toman began learning the drums in his early teens, a move that would eventually steer him toward what he considers the “unrestrictive complexities of electronic music”. A producer with an endlessly eclectic palette, Toman cites the likes of Underworld, Minilogue, and Terry Lee Brown Jr as influences, all of whom attest in some way to his own eclectic palette. From minimal to tech-house...
