A couple of years after winning the Beatport Breakthrough Award in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, ANNA enters the list at No.95. Known to her parents as Ana Miranda, she went from playing to a 1,500-strong crowd at the age of 14 in her home country of Brazil to fronting DJ Mag North America in 2019. New music from ANNA has been huge in festival sets for many world-leading techno DJs all summer. Then there was the richly deserved Essential Mix for the BBC that started 2019 off right, as the Brazilian distilled 20 years of DJing experience into an inspiring two-hour techno masterclass. DJ Mag rightly recognised her talents, putting her on the cover of their North American edition in February, a nod to the breakaway impact she’s had on that region.

When the man behind those wire rimmed glasses and that disarming smile writes his job description just what does he put? The man who took the drum and bass concept from a small venue off London's Charing Cross Road to the nation's superclubs and then onto the international stage? The geezer whose records launched breakbeat into a brand new galaxy of sound? Or maybe he just writes 'Renaissance man for a digital age'. In truth LTJ Bukem is all of the above. Although he wouldn't like to admit it, LTJ Bukem is the living embodiment of the post-acid house entrepreneurial creative spirit. He is a mild mannered energy flash whose panoramic musical vision has found success in every area he has explored. From running soundsystems to cutting up breaks at raves, from relocating the heart of breakbeat culture to redefining the spirit of drum and bass, the man known to his friends as Danny Williamson has sat at the forefront of breakbeat evolution, lighting the way with little more than a zest for life and a love of music. In other words, LTJ Bukem is a man on a mission! Bukem's first introduction to music was, like so many others, through piano lessons as a child. Unlike so many others however, the young pianist turned out to possess a natural talent and he quickly moved through the piano grades. Classical music represented the soundtrack to his home life.

Spain-based producer Eric Estornel initially reserved the name Maceo Plex for his festival-friendly house productions before gradually taking the project into a darker, more introspective direction. After establishing himself in the techno world for his work as Maetrik beginning in the early 2000s, and exploring more abstract electro and IDM as Mariel Ito around the middle of the decade, he began releasing some of his most accessible tracks under the Maceo Plex handle starting in 2009. Over the course of the following decade, the project evolved from deep, sexy house with prominent Chicago and Detroit influences (such as on debut full-length Life Index) to a significantly more dramatic sound (particularly the ambitious Solar). In addition to releasing singles and full-lengths on well-regarded labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Kompakt, and Minus, Maceo Plex has mixed volumes of the DJ-Kicks and Fabric series. ~ AllMusic

Producer, remixer, DJ and Area10 label boss, Detroit native MK (marc kinchen) came toprominence early on in his career when songs like “Always” and “Burning” and records like “4You” and “Just A Dream” penned under his alter ego 4th Measure Men became some of themost influential house songs of the ‘90s and still remain so today. Along with his iconic take on“Push The Feeling On,” he was able to put an unknown group Nightcrawlers on the map simplywith his unique and timeless remixes.A look ahead to the early 2000s had MK sharpening his R&B skills with powerhouses like WillSmith and Diane Warren, and by 2007 or so, he realized he needed a change. ~ Official Website

Paris Wells was well travelled both musically and geographically before hooking up with Sound of Copenhagen. Growing up in Melbourne, she became infatuated with hip hop and jazz at a young age, which in turn kickstarted her own career and influenced her unique sound which also incorporates elements of pop, soul and electronic music.

Richie Hawtin played an essential role in developing the sound of minimal techno, as well as spreading its popularity throughout the global club scene. Most famous for his experimental acid techno productions as Plastikman, including the classic albums Musik (1994) and Consumed (1998), he is equally well-regarded for his groundbreaking live sets and mix CDs (especially 1999's Decks, EFX & 909) which utilize cutting-edge DJ technology, fusing loops of techno records with additional synthesizers and drum machines. Initially based in Windsor, Ontario and connected with the techno scene in nearby Detroit, he co-founded the highly influential Plus 8 (and its harder sublabel Probe Records) along with John Acquaviva, later establishing Minus and relocating to Berlin during the early 2000s, just as minimal techno began receiving mainstream exposure. Hawtin has continued pushing the limits of technology, developing highly conceptual events which are often intertwined with the art world. ~ AllMusic
