Hibiya Line is not Japanese. Behind that name hides Dan, a Swiss-Vietnamese guy who in 2006 began playing live acts mixing beats, house and techno in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland with two friends. They quickly made a name for themselves were invited to play in some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Motel Campoto name a few. His deep immersion in the Swiss party scene eventually brought him to Saigon in 2012, and in 2013, he opened The Observatory. Since then, Hibiya Line has become known as one of the most versatile and resilient DJs in the region, with more than enough capacity and drive to take full control of dance floors from the sundown to sunrise. Hibiya Line’s sound explores the house, disco and techno, but his dancefloor can always expect to experience some open-ended style tracks thrown in that make the audio journey more diverse and interesting...

Bringing diversity to the decks as an avid dancer, organizer and DJ, Park Lee (Giang Bac) is a Vietnamese-mixed Korean who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City. Having spent some years away, Park was only inspired to start DJ-ing once he had relocated back to his home, where he found himself developing alongside the city’s burgeoning music scene.Park started off through playing at small house parties, and quickly grew into a regular in the local scene. This led him to begin organizing events with friends, most notably the GenderFunk party series in Saigon, a breakthrough collective and pioneer in creating safe spaces for local Queer artists and community, and their own brand of creativity, musical diversity and live performance since 2018.

Growing up in the heart of a techno scene in Leeds in the mid-90s, Dan moved to London just to be immersed in the bass of Heart & Soul parties, followed by relationships. The system through legendary Eukotech disc performance. Before long, Dan appeared in London's finest underground parties. More recently, after moving the capital to Brighton and the famous free party setting with Positive Soundsystem and Innerfield. At that time, Dan had a regular seat at the Backstage Bar of the Glade Festival. After years of refining sound and craftsmanship, the first 1DAN publication was published through the highly respected label deep house underground Atmospheric Existence in England. Anh Vy is one of the youngest Djs in the Saigon underground scene and one of The Observatory’s newest residents. He's recognised by the versatility and flexibility in music. He was one of the resident DJs of former Upper Saigon. As time goes by, he is making himself into an interesting and promising piece of Saigon’s underground scene as an artist and a contributor with his very own uniqueness.

Attiss Ngo is a producer and synthesizer shredder, traveling across continents and genres to push people’s perceptions of electronica. Presenting entirely original pieces, his live sets span orchestral manipulations to crushing drum machines to intimate whispers to sacred chants. His purpose is to leave bodies aching, minds bewildered & spirits delighted.

Maraphoria is one of Saigon’s party starters in the local DJ community. She has a varied sound that has influences from all sorts of genres: Hip Hop, Disco, House and R&B. Born in the Philippines but grew up in Vietnam, she has been strongly influenced by DJs in the local community and experiments with her favorites to create her own sound. Recently she has been exploring the sound of House and adding flavors of Bass, Groove and UK Garage.

Growing up in 80’s suburbia, MyHero’s taste for electronic music was fueled by Düsseldorf, Chicago, Essex, New York City and Detroit mixed with queer club culture. As an active member of the Mugic collective of deejays and party promoters based in Singapore, MyHero continues his more than 15 years of playing lounges, clubs and parties in the US and across Asia. Nayla, founder of On Point Worldwide Records, is a producer and DJ born and raised in the UK, releasing a selection of instrumental Hip Hop, House and Disco Edits. As a DJ, his genre fluid track selection represents a spicy fusion of Garage, House, Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Italo and Bass, with a healthy injection of Global Sounds. Currently residing in South East Asia with a recent base in Ho Chi Minh City he is a regular face at clubs and events such as The Observatory, Kobala, Savage, The Lighthouse, and Studio Adventure. Indeed, his tracks are sure to satisfy an array of tastes and dispositions. Ume is the Japanese DJ originally from Osaka and currently based in Saigon. He began his path as a selector in the underground parties surrounding his hometown, He is a member of the Mogra Radio. His music is a delicate soundtrack to the “here and now”. It is difficult to attribute it to any single genre, it is a reflection of the moment in time, atmosphere and mood of music lovers around. His sets are always filled with rhythmic grooves, extravagance and echoes from different cultures and worlds.

Growing up in a family where Chicago House was used for aerobic sessions, Youss has been an electronic music fan since the age of 7 when he listened to his first house music track. It’s easy to say that the energy he felt when he got into a club for the first time has locked him to the dance floor ever since, and he’s not willing to leave any time soon. Considering a set to be a story built between a crowd and a DJ, Youss likes twists and turns where genres and energies subtly switch from one another creating a harmonious contrast of sounds.

Barry Sunset is a founding member of cult Melbourne party, Spin Club, held monthly at the infamous Mercat Basement in Melbourne, Australia. Since it’s demolition he has gone on to create the eclectic About Love podcast, and his own Australiana fishing themed side-stage and bar at Hopkins Creek Festival - Barry’s Bait Shop. Deejaying since a young age has seen him hone his selections from countless hours behind the booth and is now a local hero treasured by the party-people of Melbourne. Now based in Hanoi, Vietnam he is producing some sneaky dancefloor edits, running his own Sunset Sounds imprint and has his sights on the dance floors of south-east Asia and beyond.

A long-time record collector and connoisseur of jazz funk, disco, afro, reggae and other hidden rarities, Datodeo moved his vinyl to Vietnam from his native France and has since spent most of his spare time spinning around Saigon and the region. He also runs the Vietnam Loves Vinyl online community and worked on the Saigon SuperSound Compilation with Jan Hagenkoetter. Datodeo’s sets are rich explorations of hidden corners of the dance universe, from rare deep house cuts and lost disco and Afro gems to jazz funk movements and contemporary electronic twists. Party music at its purest and most complete, the sound he presents demands to be soaked in and danced to.

David de Barce started DJing in Spain in 1994, at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona. He was Resident DJ at Hotel Costes Paris from 2001 to 2010. During this time, he created the Barcelona-Paris compilations and participated in the world-renowned compilations of Hotel Costes. He has DJ’d for many international Luxury Brands, the Fashion Week in Paris, the WMC in Miami and Cannes film festival, amongst others. David has been playing worldwide with well-known DJ’s such as: 2 many Dj s, Wax Taylor, Quantic, Stephane Pompougnac, Jojo Flores and Nicolas Jaar amongst others. He decided to move far away from civilisation and live on an island in the Philippines named Palawan for almost a decade. During this period, he played at great events in South East Asia such as the Malasimbo & Lio festival in the Philippines. Based in Saigon now, inspired by the effervescence of the city and the underground nightlife scene, he is writing, composing and producing his first album named Bokeh Love which will be released at the end

Born in Paris in the ’80s, Desnuages was immersed in music growing up with his mother dancer. Percussionist autodidact, he learns to play Darbouka and Djembe. Attracted by the Parisian night, he was quickly interested by the electronic scene and used to go to Concrete, Rex club with DJ friends where he discovers micro house, deep and minimal. He moved to Saigon in Vietnam in 2018 where he started to learn Djing with Dj friends and was resident at Arcan Club.

Di Linh is a young artist from Vietnam. Since she began the musical path, she has been making her mark by the diverse and colorful music selection. She is a part of Hanoi Underground Movement (HUM) and resident DJ at Savage. Till this day, Di Linh often plays in familiar places like Savage, Kobala, Smack Dab,... through local events HUM, Snug, SBD, This is, Guinguette, Unuzual and Quest, Duality, Recess, Studio Adventure, Epizode Festival. Besides, her name also appears the same night with well-known artists such as Lauer, Red Rack’em, Local Suicide, Haruka, Omer, Curses and many more around the world in Epizode. And the highlight of her music career was her performance in HUM Showcase (Epizode) with Marco Yanes, which also mentioned in the official review from Data Transmission. Each space gives her different inspirations, Di Linh is always looking and developing herself to give the audiences a fresh feeling, while still retaining her own unique color. She knows how to lead the audiences' emotions...

Jase is the original Bass DJ of Vietnam, he had been a pioneer of Jungle and Dubstep, Glitch Hop scene since 2007 in his native land. Jase self-taught himself the art of DJing in 2001 when he bought his 1200s. House was his first genre of choice for the first year. As Jase progressed, he found House's beat was too simple so the next genre was Nu Skool Breaks due to its popularity of it at that time in Sydney. He slowly moved toward Drum and Bass, Hip-hop and Reggae after-co founded the infamous Sydney's DNB promotional crew "Foreigndub" which made numerous successful parties bringing international DJs including DJ Marky and Stamina MC, Big Bud, DJ Patife & MC Cleveland Watkiss, Kenny Ken and many more.

Kaztet D is a DJ, Selecta, MC & Promoter from France, partly raised in Asia, based in Saigon Ho Chi Minh city / Vietnam. Founding Member of R2G aka Rouen2ground in France, WAT A GWAAN Reggae Collective in Cambodia, and cofounder of BANANA HUSTLE in Vietnam. He is also part of SAIGON DUB STATION family. The always good vibes delivering Kaztet is known for his dubby beats in early morning sets at the infamous Vitamin D afterparties.

Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, and after traveling near and far, he relocated to his home country in 2018. Quickly becoming one of the key players in Hanoi as part of the Savage crew, he recently moved back to Saigon, where he is now the newest resident of The Observatory. Khoi presents a fun and light-hearted attitude to dance music with eclectic selections and a dreamy, percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences to use on any dance floor he’s put in control of, with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

One of The Observatory residents, Kin’s approach to his sets is intelligent, sensual and constantly evolving. Through his carefully chosen selections, he crafts a sonic flow that careens through the gaps between the physical and emotional. He slowly disarms and relaxes his dance floor while heightening its awareness with tracks from the more shadowy sides of house and delicate frequencies of techno. His dance floor can also be frequently surprised by licks of disco and other unexpected delicacies.

Manny is a Paris native, currently living in Saigon. Manny’s love for hip hop music started with 90’s French hip hop music and later blossomed when he had started to listen to American hip hop artists, such as 2-Pac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and the NWA. He then went on to co-produce "Le Plan Deb", a French rap lyrics band. His passion for hip hop started to evolve while listening to one of the Wu-Tang Clan’s sample compilations, “Shaolin Soul”. That paved the way which led him into soul funk disco music. Since then, Manny has dabbled with many genres, such as African and tropical culture. He has developed his own styling of soul to topical groove with a touch of modernity. Every so often his music tends to be a little bit wilder, as he explores deeper dark sounds.

Matt Abstrax has been a major player in the Australian house, techhouse & techno scene for many years with his party rocking DJ sets and, and as the creator of party brand TechPhonics. He has brought to Adelaide and played alongside a massive array of acts over the past 8 years, including Derrick May, Robert Hood, Octave One, Luke Slater, Ben Klock, James Zabiela, Hybrid, Jay Lumen, Funkagenda, Ian Pooley, Patrick Topping, Oliver $, Audiojack, Nick Curly, Pleasurekraft, & many more. Matt has played major Australian music festivals including Stereosonic, Summadayze, Future Music Festival, Play Festival, Re:connect and Winter Solstice, sharing stages with Disclosure, Gorgon City, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Maya Jane Coles and more. Matt hosted a weekly 2 hr online mix show for 5 years on web-station Soundpond.net. After travelling through Asia he is now based in Ho Chi Minh City and plays regularly across Vietnam and Cambodia.

Nic Ford moved to Vietnam from the UK around 10 years ago, and has been running and featuring on lineups of parties throughout the region since then. He has been a resident of The Observatory since it first opened in 2013. Honing his skills since the mid-nineties, he held his first residency at Dry 201 in Manchester and is a voracious collector of a vast array of music. He’s also a highly acclaimed producer, being one half of MadderModes, a production outfit that has releases on a range of impressive labels including DRED, Voodoo Down Records and Millions of Moments.

One of Saigon's Party freaks, cofounder of Banana Hustle, founder of Hazy Lemons, and resident DJ at WAM, Smudge is a purveyor of eclectic beats and globetrotting rhythms. Jumping across genres of Afrobeat, Latin Funk, Folkloric Deep House, Organic Techno, Ethno-Electronic, Leftfield Groove, UK Dub, and Blues from around the World. Mixing in music from West Africa, Brazil, Columbia, Turkey, The Middle East, India and more.
