about
A banjee child who loves to twirl and dip. I sing and DJ, too. Sometimes, while twirling and dipping...
Born and raised in West suburban Chicagoland, Shaun J. Wright spent most of his teen years immersed in the sounds of house music. His love for dance music expanded throughout his high school years as he partook in the underground dance scene now globally known as Juke. While in undergrad at Morehouse College in Atlanta, he developed his skills as a dancer/voguer in professional dance companies and the ballroom scene. After acquiring an MA Fashion Curation, from the London College of Fashion, Wright enjoyed an active career in fashion in New York City. That is where he met Andrew Butler, founder of Hercules and Love Affair, and began a whirlwind collaboration with the ensemble as a vocalist. Currently, Wright is exhilarating dance floors worldwide as a dj and is featured on several acclaimed releases with Stereogamous, Bell Boys, Bobmo, Kiki, Alinka, and System of Survival with more stellar collaborations on the horizon for 2016. He is also finishing his long-awaited solo EP.

It's been going on for nearly a decade: Under cover of darkness, Matthew Dear slips out of his usual guise as pop-music innovator and exorcises his dancefloor demons through his constantly shifting alter-ego, Audion. It's been going on for nearly a decade: Under cover of darkness, Matthew Dear slips out of his usual guise as pop-music innovator and exorcises his dancefloor demons through his constantly shifting alter-ego, Audion. Over the years, Dear has steered the Audion sound from grime-flecked minimalism to sinewy funk to relentless floor-fillers and back, but Audion's core remains constant: an itchy forward momentum, an eye-popping visual aesthetic, and a dedication to high-class body music. Audion first appeared in 2004 with two EPs, Kisses and The Pong, which offered a harder-edged counterpoint to the crisp microhouse of Dear's eponymous tracks at the time. 2005's full-length Suckfish unveiled the full scope of the Audion sound, as tracks like "Just Fucking" and "Your Place or Mine" presented an aggressive, sonically serrated side of Matthew Dear few had seen before. In 2006, Audion's subversive club anthem “Mouth To Mouth”—an ever-ascending work of art with a distinctive "swarm of bees" climax—became the toast of that year's DEMF. That track, still in heavy rotation among the world's top DJs, was the pivot point, cementing Audion as a genuine force in the world of dance music. In 2009, Audion re-emerged with a retooled approach: seven sleek, propulsive singles—from the slow motorik pulse of "I Am the Car" to the hands-in-the-air energy of "Look At the Moon"—released over the course of the year, culminating in Hecatomb, Audion's acclaimed worldwide A/V tour. Since 2009, it's been relatively quiet in the Audion camp—two critically acclaimed Matthew Dear records and endless live-band tours notwithstanding. Regardless, the wait is over: Matthew Dear has reassumed the Audion mantle. 2013's Audion X retrospective—including Dear's hand-picked favorites from the last ten years along with two new singles—is just the beginning. A new full-length album and dazzling live A/V tour is in the works. If history is any indication, it's going to be a long night.

  • BEIGE

Just the hits. Unafraid to dig deep and also play the hits, Detroit-based deejay BEIGE has caught the ears of Boiler Room, T4TLUVNRG, The Bunker, Sublimate, Jack Dept. & other in-the-know crews. A fast-rising talent in the North American queer underground, they have become a regular fixture on the forward-thinking Midwest/East Coast party circuit. From their homebase in Detroit, they host the monthly show Chaotic Neutral on The Lot Radio, organize educational workshops for DJs of marginalized genders as a member of Seraphine Collective, and provide local support to internationally touring acts. The BEIGE sound is anything but—they are known for smooth mixing and colorful, unpretentious sets that whip between genres and tempos: big melodies, big vocals, big Moods. Beyond the usual house-techno-disco touchpoints, expect to hear psychedelic gospel, leftfield club and ballroom, thizz-face electro and UK/global bass, sprinkled with cheeky pop references. Their dramatic approach has earned the support of dance music institutions including Hot Mass, Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere, and Charivari Festival. On a Funktion-One or in a field under the full moon, BEIGE strives to honor the dancefloor as a space for healing and transformation.

  • Ben Klock

Berlin born DJ, producer and label owner Ben Klock is without a doubt one of the most significant characters in techno’s recent history. A resident at Berghain since its opening in 2004, he has been able to leave his mark on the club’s unique sound, in turn the special space influenced Klock’s approach as a DJ and producer as well. Playing techno sets full of hypnotic, deep and heavy grooves, releasing records on Ostgut Ton and last but not least the aesthetics of his own label Klockworks (founded in 2006), have earned him an excellent international reputation over the last few years. Supported by stringent and enthralling tracks, remixes for such diverse artists as Kerri Chandler, Martyn or Depeche Mode, the revered debut album “One” on Ostgut Ton and his Berghain mix, Ben Klock’s name is synonymous with the vitalization of an essential definition of techno.

  • Bonobo

Simon Green aka Bonobo is back with his sixth album – the masterful, magisterial “Migration” – is a record which cements his place in the very highest echelons of electronic music and beyond. By turns lush, manic, beautiful, melancholy, joyful, packed.. Bonobo’s last album, “The North Borders”, went Top 30 in the UK and was number 1 in the electronic charts in both the US and UK. In support, his 12-piece collective (over an 18 month period) played 175 shows across four continents and 30 countries, wowing a total audience of around 2 million people. In fact, Songkick reckoned him to be amongst the most travelled artists on the planet that year. The tour included two sell outs at the Sydney Opera House, an all-day festival at the Roundhouse culminating in a sold out show at Alexandra Palace (10k cap) plus a number of high profile festival slots. Over the course of five albums for the legendary label Ninja Tune, a myriad of tours, singles, remixes and production work for other artists, Bonobo has built a large, loyal and engaged global fanbase: over half a million album sales and over one hundred and fifty million streams on Spotify point to the levels of success achieved by this quiet, self-effacing man. Most recently, Bonobo curated an international series of Outlier events including a sold out all day festival at Tobacco Dock in London and further parties in Berlin, Madrid, Paris and New York. After the epic North Borders tour, Bonobo relocated once again, continuing his gradual move westward by laying down roots in Los Angeles. He had spent almost three years out on the road with no fixed home and on returning to New York, he found it a “noisy, stressful environment” and decided to try the other coast. All this – both the monumental live and DJ tours and his new home in a city full of people from somewhere else – has fed into what makes “Migration” such a special record. Drawing on both a new interest in found-sound and the “euphoric, spiritual moments” he experienced when playing his all-night DJ sets at his Output residency (where many of “Migrations” tracks were road tested) in New York and his Outlier events around the world, Green has placed the unstable, the heartbreaking, the often beautiful migratory life at the core of how he understands humanity, and hence how he understands music. Migration is to him, “The study of people and spaces,” he expands, “It’s interesting how one person will take an influence from one part of the world and move with that influence and effect another part of the world. Over time, the identities of places evolve.” It’s also true that the person will be changed. Green’s newest work is itself a statement of this change and growth.

Hip hop perked the interest of Detroit’s Craig Gonzalez to vinyl at a young age, and underground parties in the 1990s soon catalyzed a lifelong fascination with DJing. Inspired by versatility, his self-taught techniques have grown from weaving rhythmic layers into powerful, personal narratives. His collection reflects the evolution of music that came up in Detroit across decades, including techno, house, minimal, dub techno, and plenty of hip hop and funk. He was a part of the Detroit Bachelor DJs collective with Derek Plaslaiko, and has opened for Marco Carola at Necto, Miss Kittin at TV Lounge, and Matthew Dear at Marble Bar. His collaborative skills were heightened at Solar in Ann Arbor, where he shared a residency with Stacey Pullen, and played a four turntable tag set with Carlos Souffront in support of Craig Craig and Kenny Larkin. Paxahau has booked him countless times at both Movement and large local events—like its 20th anniversary with Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva. Influenced by the Mike Huckaby’s depth and the hypnotic craft of Donato Dozzy, Gonzalez has honed his own style from a global network of like-minded artists. Family, history, and culture that surrounds electronic music have been key to his deep sensibilities, which translate seamlessly across a dance floor.

  • Green Velvet

Curtis Alan Jones has a laundry list of monikers he has gone by since his first appearance in the dance music scene in 1991. However, he is best known as Green Velvet and Cajmere. Inspired by the house music craze in the 80s, Jones picked himself up a keyboard, 4-track, and drum machine to try his hand at making music. It turned out he had a knack for it and in 1991, under Cajmere, he began releasing music. In 1992, he started his own label, Cajual Records, and released “Brighter Days”, a collaboration with superstar dance music singer, Dajae. The song hit number 2 on  the Billboard Dance Music Charts. Modern-day publications like Rolling Stone and MixMag have included the single on their lists detailing the best house tracks to date. In ‘95, under the name Green Velvet and on his new label Relief Records, Jones released another single “Flash” that too, skyrocketed to the top of the charts. He continued to produce bangers, putting out albums under the name Green Velvet.

  • IDA ENGBERG

27-year-old Ida Engberg started DJing hip hop and soul aged 14 after a boyfriend showed her how to mix, but she says “I had absolutely no plans on becoming a DJ, I just saw it as a new way to listen to and interact with music and I loved it!” But fate had other plans – while at a friend’s bar aged 18 his regular DJ called in sick. Ida talked her way onto the decks on the proviso that if it wasn’t working after half an hour she’d get off again – by the time she’d finished playing she’d secured her first weekly residence. “I was probably a terrible DJ” she says modestly, “but he loved the music so he booked me every Friday. At this time I was playing lounge music, ambient and soulful house.”,Ida honed her mixing skills and bagged her second residency through more fortuitous timing – working as a host at a big nightclub, Spy Bar, she stepped in for the errant resident DJ who’d had a skinful and promptly disappeared, leaving the dancefloor in silence. The owner immediately changed her job description to DJ, and put her in the main room, kicking off her DJ career proper. “I guess it was there it really started” says Ida. “I was playing house, tribal and electro and I really loved every second of it! I kept my residency there for two and a half years until I decided I wanted to spread my wings a bit.”,A move to Marbella brought 8 months of club gigs, followed by a season in Ibiza which inspired Ida musically like no other place. “I had fallen deeply in love with the minimal techno sound so it was perfect at the time. In Ibiza I met so many people who shared the same dream- To be working with music.” “I was playing in bars and smaller clubs and in afterhour parties. Everywhere I went it was people with the same passion for music as I had.” At the end of the season, Ida returned to Stockholm landing a top residency at Cocktail Club, the best underground club in Stockholm. “My first gig was a warm up for Eric Prydz and after that I did warm ups for everyone from Damian Lazarus, Mandy, Anja Schneider and Jennifer Cardini to Roger Sanchez and Steve Angello. “Stockholm is a great platform for electronic music. There are so many great producers and DJs living here and people really support each other.”,Although DJing is her first love, it was only a matter of time before Ida tried her hand at production. Her first effort was the massive Disco Volante – signed by John Dahlbäck to his Pickadoll label and released in 2007 with a Sebastien Leger remix it became a huge hit all over the world, featuring on compilations from Ministry of Sound, Defected in the House and Pacha Ibiza. It charted across the whole of Europe, doing especially well in Holland, Belgium and Germany. Two more tracks have followed on Get Physical and Pickadoll plus a remix for Dada Life, and Ida signed with the Plantage13 agency for international gigs. She can be found playing her brand of minimal, techno and tech house in clubs all over the world every weekend, and her love of what she does is obvious to all. Playing unplanned sets allows her to respond to the crowd, and she’s rocked parties and clubs like Miami’s Sunday School for Degenerates, Yes at Watergate in Berlin, Tomorrowland in Belgium, Melkweg in Amsterdam, Catwalk in Rotterdam and Op Art in Portugal to name a few. Lately she also took part in the Drumcode parties with Swedish companion Adam Beyer. “It’s still a musical journey, my style develops all the time and I’m always open to new impressions” says Ida. “That’s what makes it the best job in the world!”

  • Kevin Reynolds

Kevin Reynolds, producer / live performer from Detroit. Began in the local underground of the mid '90's Detroit Techno scene. Worked for Derrick May's label Transmat. His sound has been championed by Osunlade, Gilles Peterson, DJ Karizma, Jazzanova.. Born to two Irish-American Detroit autoworkers/civil rights activists, Kevin Reynolds' musical ear was trained by the soundtrack to the late night drives decidedly put on the car stereo by his parents: none other than the urbane and otherworldly voice of celebrated Detroit radio dj, Electrifyin' Mojo... While his mother attended medical school at Michigan State University, Kevin and his family lived in student housing that housed families from around the globe, with neighbors blaring insistent sounds of such diverse backgrounds as Afropop, music from China's urban centers, Tejano music, and spaced melodic sounds from the Middle East. Kevin was self taught when it came to making music with machines; obsessed with being able to create the music he was being exposed to on a daily basis, he approached and helped design the first Music Technology class in his high school... Reynolds' first foray into a professional music career was a call to work at Derrick May's seminal classic label Transmat Records. Initially signed on as an audio engineer fresh out of college in the dry deserts of Arizona, Derrick saw other plans for Reynolds and pushed him to develop knowledge in all aspects of music. While at Transmat, Reynolds was given the opportunity to manage all the audio production functions of the pioneering label. Working as an engineer and tour manager of Derrick May's Hi Tech Soul band Time: Space including Aril Brikha, John Beltran, Neil Olliverra, Tony Drake, Jeremy Ellis he travelled throughout North America, Europe and Japan. Among the many projects executed during his tenure at Transmat, he also curated the official music compilation for "Movement," Detroit's 2004 electronic music festival. Kevin’s music draws hints from a wide spectrum of artists. In his music you can hear the steely mechanics of Kraftwerk, the powerful blasts of John Coltrane, the emotive synths of Carl Craig, the social commentary of A Tribe Called Quest, the rawness of Jeff Mills, and lush waves of Sergio Mendes. On record, balance is key to his music: “You must have the light with the dark, day with night, and it’s a natural balance of opposites. " Since his initial steps at Transmat, Kevin also had the opportunity to be the US tour manager for Neo Soul artist Amp Fiddler. Founding his own label, Todhchai (which translates to "future, or things to come" in Gaelic), he has composed music for Lexus of America , Blue Cross Blue Shield, Red Bull and the Mayor of Detroit. This lead to the privilege of remixing The Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Stravinsky's riotous "Rite of Spring". In 2006, Reynolds released his first record "Afrik" to critical acclaim and championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Osunlade, Jazzanova, DJ Karizma and Masters At Work. The UK's BBC Radio One dubbed Reynolds the "new sound of Detroit Techno." His live performances have been showcased at Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2001 and 2004. Most recently his live sets where noted in Resident Advisor as highlight of the Movement 2009 Detroit Festival and called "fresh, evocative deep house tunes that never stopped evolving" by littlewhiteearbuds.com Most recently, Kevin composed an original song for Microsoft Ford Sync web launch called "playit4ward.msn.com

  • Kevin Saunderson

His influence runs deep, through both adopted hometown of Detroit, and music culture as a whole: as one of the Belleville Three, the high school trio which also includes Juan Atkins and Derrick May, he irreparably changed the face of electronic music; with Inner City, he gave it some of its most memorable tunes. Saunderson’s comparatively late start as a producer – kicking off in ’87 under the moniker of Kreem, with E-Dancer and Reese two of the more well-known names to follow – inadvertently gifted him a headstart. With the eruption of house music a few hours down the I-94 in Chicago, Saunderson married Detroit’s raw sound to more tactile, pop-leaning sensibilities. Inner City was born, and global success followed.

  • MACEO PLEX

Spain-based producer Eric Estornel initially reserved the name Maceo Plex for his festival-friendly house productions before gradually taking the project into a darker, more introspective direction. After establishing himself in the techno world for his work as Maetrik beginning in the early 2000s, and exploring more abstract electro and IDM as Mariel Ito around the middle of the decade, he began releasing some of his most accessible tracks under the Maceo Plex handle starting in 2009. Over the course of the following decade, the project evolved from deep, sexy house with prominent Chicago and Detroit influences (such as on debut full-length Life Index) to a significantly more dramatic sound (particularly the ambitious Solar). In addition to releasing singles and full-lengths on well-regarded labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Kompakt, and Minus, Maceo Plex has mixed volumes of the DJ-Kicks and Fabric series. ~ AllMusic

  • Ricardo Villalobos

As far back as the early '90s, Ricardo Villalobos began building an impressive discography of 12" releases on respected dance labels like Playhouse and Perlon, and around the turn of the decade he was one of the most revered producers and DJs in dance music. In his youth, the Chilean-born Villalobos moved with his family to Germany in order to avoid the military dictatorship of Pinochet, and he eventually fell in with the country's fertile house community. A minimalist at heart, he trotted the globe to study percussion in order to apply his knowledge to his productions, which almost always sound remarkably expansive despite their simplicity. In addition to his own solo material, he has recorded with fellow expatriate Dandy Jack as Ric y Martin and with Luciano as Sense Club; additionally, he has taken part in Markus Nikolai's Hombre Ojo project. ~ AllMusic

  • Rimarkable

Redefining the word "remix", Detroit Native, Rimarkable is a renaissance woman indeed. A vocalist, lyricist, producer and DJ, she is a well respected force. Defying effortless categorization, Maria “Ri Ri'' Garcia aka Rimarkable is a child of funk, jazz, gospel, rock and soul, and her selections as a DJ and broadcaster fuse all of these sounds “wrapped into a house and techno box”. Growing up heavily influenced by Black gospel music, her mother a classically trained pianist and music minister in a Pentecostal church, Rimarkable’s childhood summers in Chicago also gave her an introduction to house music, during the genre’s explosive infancy. An Afro-Latina from Detroit, she’s first generation Puerto Rican, and the Afro-Caribbean sound continues to have a huge impact on her sonic leanings, alongside the unmistakable ear training of the city’s techno legacy. Rimarkable started professionally DJing in 1997, first doing private events and then clubs in the early 2000s. She’s since played around the world alongside the likes of George Clinton, Francois K, Bonobo and Gene Farris. She started producing in 2006, after she grew tired of male producers either not understanding how she wanted to sound, or luring her into the studio to hang out, then asking her to freestyle on the mic, while hitting ‘record’ and releasing music without her consent. Her first release as a producer was in 2011 on E-man's Liberate Recordings label, a track called "Peace Lives Here" ft. Valerie Troutt. A multi-hyphenate musician who has found various creative outlets over the years, Rimarkable believes in DJing and producing as a spiritual practice, exploring alchemy through the DJ art form as well as African spiritualism, healing, mental health and self-care. It’s a philosophy that eventually manifested as a lecture and classroom series called ‘The Alchemy of DJing’, a means for her to creatively engage in social justice, and empower women and youth. It’s taken her to various cities such as Nairobi and Berlin, and US institutions such as Yale and Queens Museum. Quite literally a party starter she also has produced dozens of successful events in New York, Detroit and the Bay Area over the past 20 years. In early 2021 Rimarkable signed to UK house music institution Defected including the Defected Music publishing arm, and stepped up as a presenter for the weekly Defected Radio show, which is syndicated globally to 170+ FM stations and available as a podcast with a reach of 20m+. Bringing her exceptionally rich music knowledge and unique flavor to the show, this house music alchemist’s next chapter looks set to be nothing short of remarkable.

From her early days as the sole member of the Defected street team in Ibiza to fronting their radio show and now headlining some of the world’s biggest clubs and festivals, The First Lady of Defected, has become an intrinsic part of the UK house music scene. The seeds of Sam’s DJ career can be traced back to a pair of belt drive turntables and a battered Numark mixer set up in her Mum’s shed; a pirate radio show broadcast from her bedroom using ‘borrowed’ equipment from the local college and MSN Messenger, and time spent expanding her musical knowledge working at Spin Central in her hometown of Weston-super-Mare and Chemical Records in Bristol. ~ Soundcloud

A veteran DJ with more than ten years of experience under his belt; Detroit native, T.Linder has done his homework and paid his dues. T.Linder takes a no-nonsense, working-class approach to the art of spinning records. He cites old-school Detroit street jocks: The Wizard (aka. Jeff Mills), Gary Chandler, and Steve "DJ Energy" Crawford among others, as major inspirations for his unorthodox aesthetic. "If someone's going to pay money to hear me spin, I'm going to make it worth their money. The way I look at it, there's too many DJs out there meticulously and methodically blending records that all sound the same. As a listener, I'm easily bored with that. I like to take some risks when I perform, skipping across genres and eras, doing scratch tricks with two copies of the same record. I want to give the listener the experience of hearing something they haven't heard before." Over the past decade, T.Linder has kept a busy performance schedule that has taken him to literally thousands of events across North America. He has played at most, if not all, of the venues in Detroit catering to Electronic Music. Notably, 2030 Grand River, The Works, Motor Lounge, St.Andrew's Hall, and the Underground Stage at the 2002 Detroit Electronic Music Festival (a gig that he considers one of his career highlights). In 2007, T.Linder released his first EP entitled DTM002 , on Detroit Techno Militia (a record label/artist collective that he co-founded). He has also done remix projects for legendary Detroit Techno producers K.Hand, and Scan 7. In the future he plans to continue doing what he has does best, creating and playing timeless records, and asserting his position within the rich history of Detroit Techno. "A lot of DJs are switching over digital technology as a medium for their performances. I've been very reluctant to take that step. I am a vinyl DJ first and foremost, so I'll probably play records until my favorite labels stop pressing them. Mainly because I find them more reliable. I've never had a record crate crash in the middle of one of my shows and kill all of the music. Additionally, I think there's something to be said for the tradition of DJs playing old fashioned wax with analog turntables. Music from the future, made and performed with equipment from the past!"

  • Budino

̸BIOGRAPHY Music Lover For some DJs, music will forever be in the foreground of their mind; every free moment is spent searching for new music or conceiving ways to blend new discoveries. Italian born Budino is one of these DJs, hers is a constant quest for fresh material to weave in her sets – sets that exist in clubbers minds as glorious psychedelic tapestries sewn from dark trance-inducing beats, tribal percussion and rich cosmic textures. Given this dedication and dexterity it’s unsurprising that praise is heaped so readily on Budino’s sets. After moving to Berlin and playing throughout the city since the age of eighteen, she was soon co-running the party series Oscillator at the now defunct and much lamented iconic club Griessmühle, along with its sister vinyl only label. She soon became a mainstay behind the decks at the infamous institution of queer hedonism that is Cocktail d’Amore and has since held a residency there for many years. With a diligence to seek out the perfect music for every moment, Budino has spent many years honing her craft creating unique edits that breathe versatility into the music she has dug deep to find. This often means when you hear her play, it may well be the only moment ever in which will you ever hear that version. However, a handful of these edits have seen the light of day on New York vinyl label JustWhatTheWorldNeeds. Budino has also been responsible for curating the fourth edition of Love International festival’s compilation series ‘The Sound of Love International’’. It reflects her interpretation of the ideal soundtrack for an endless and idyllic day into the night on the beaches of Tisno on the Adriatic coast, nodding to her comprehensive taste as a selector. With her enthusiasm, devotion and impeccable ear for music, Budino continues to go from strength to strength as a DJ and has plenty more of her passion to share with dance floors around the world.

In 2015, Byron released a ten track solo album on BBE entitled “Planets of Love.” When he wasn’t working on his own music, he was playing keys in the studio with Kai Alce. These creations got into the hands of Theo Parrish, who loved the sound of his sublime jazz-infected house and picked two tracks to release on his legendary Sound Signature label in 2016. The resulting “Highlife EP” has been hailed as “stunning”, “intoxicating” and “essential.” In the years since, Byron has released a consistently high level of music on Wild Oats, Eglo records & more. An intercontinental dance savant, raving from China to Saigon and beyond – Cora has been a vital force in activating meridians between underground club scenes in East Asia and the rest of the world. Incubated over years of work, sweat and tears at dedicated nightspots The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City and .TAG Chengdu, her nuanced aesthetic and penchant for ephemeral grooves have now synthesized into a sophisticated style of her own. • DJ Fuckoff

̸BIOGRAPHY Who is taking the global bass underground by storm? It’s DJ Fuckoff Bitch! The New Zealand-born DJ, Producer and MC has come a long way since arriving in Berlin with nothing but a dream and a backpack: From smashing warehouse raves, turning streams into fully-fledged dance-off’s or casually mashing-up renowned dance floors, Fuckoff’s relentless positive energy and refreshingly nonchalant style have earned her a serious hype and a loyal following. Breaking through under the unlikely circumstances of full lockdown and after her steamy HÖR debut went viral, Fuckoff’s productions instantly turned heads. With her signature provocative lyrics, breakneck speed and energy-laden twists, standouts like “B.I.M.B.” and her contribution to “Trick” by Dagga have become instantly recognizable DJ favorites that saw releases on the likes of International Chrome & none/such recordings. While her DJ debut had to be postponed for over a year, Fuckoff wasted no time to blow the roof off parties. Dealing dancefloor damage around Berlin & neighbouring countries, she serves a fast-paced mixing style with unapologetic blends across various shades of the hardcore spectrum. On top of her energetic mixing, her standout live PA’s add an extra threat to her shows, regularly sending ravers into a craze. While channeling a distinctively youthful energy, DJ Fuckoff’s roots go way back: Literally growing up at early Bush Doof’s organized by her parents, electronic music has been integral from the earliest of ages. After cutting her teeth as a producer and MC on throwback hip hop productions, her focus soon shifted to electronic music. While being thoroughly informed by previous generations of dance music, DJ Fuckoff's own take – as the name suggests – doesn’t fear eroding genres, standards and stereotypes.

  • DJ Gigola

̸BIOGRAPHY like gigolo, but Gigola Gigolo means Playboy, but the word originally derives from the ancient French "Gigole" which used to mean Dancing Woman. This makes DJ Gigola both, a dancing woman and a playboy. Where others see tension and contradiction, DJ Gigola sees a chance for creation. In her playful way of breaking down boundaries, she hits the Zeitgeist of a generation that continuously transforms and recontextualises seemingly fixed concepts and stereotypes. As a result, both her sets and productions are quint-essentially genre-fluid. Her critically acclaimed cutting edge releases take a hybrid approach, successfully blending boundaries between Dance and Pop music. On a night out, you might hear DJ Gigola mix Madonna out of an old Bonzai record and back into Surgeon all within 5 minutes. Her sets are enigmatic and reflect a natural sense of curiosity - eager to explore, she does not shy away from experimenting. As playful as DJ Gigola’s selection may seem, however, she rigorously weaves together seemingly disperse tracks with one common thread: rhythm. She experiences music primarily through the rhythmic structure emergent from patterns of percussion rather than layers of melodic harmonies. This deep understanding for rhythm and groove, combined with her multi-facetted knowledge of music and curious audacity to try new things makes DJ Gigola one of the most exciting DJs to experience on a dance floor.

The Russian-born Tel Aviv native Marina Rubinstein (the honorific is strictly cosmetic) moved to Berlin in 2012, shortly after beginning to spin, and swiftly became one of the sharpest party d.j.s anywhere. • Elninodiablo

̸BIOGRAPHY Elninodiablo's sound is conceptual and experimental - fusing organic sounds, field recordings, live instrumentation with synths and drum machines. Converging his club and DJing background with music production techniques Born on the beautiful but restless island of Cyprus, an environmentally idyllic place scarred by years of war, Stephanos Pantelas alias Elninodiablo began his journey in music collecting vinyl he would play on the airwaves of pirate radio stations. Though an inspirational crossroads of culture, Cyprus also proved to be rather unwelcoming towards LGBTQIA individuals, which soon prompted Stephanos to make the move to the ever effervescing city of London, whose electronic scene was booming in the mid-90s. From small bills to top-of-the-range discos, his DJing skills soon earnt him a resident position in the booth of some of the hottest gay clubs of the time, including Turnmills, Fabric and Heaven. Joining forces with Alan X, El Nino Diablo soon tried his hand at the art of remixing with outstanding contributions for Grammy-nominated Mexican band Kinky and British soul singer Mica Paris. This knowledge in production and jockeying, Stephanos would soon put it to broader use through his own eponymous PR platform; representing the likes of Horse Meat Disco, Salsoul Records, Jocelyn Brown, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Mulatu Astatke, Tegan & Sara, !K7, Strut Records and many more over the years. After eighteen years of grind in the English capital, time had come for Elninodiablo to explore new horizons. Packing his bags, Stephanos began the writing of a new chapter in his life. His sense-awakening voyage across the world took him to destinations as diverse as India, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, the US, Australia, New Zealand - where he got to live amongst intentional communities, looking to expand his vision and get more in-tune with nature. With the help of meditation, yoga and the therapeutic movement (5Rhythms, Movement Medicine) he found the second breath he desperately needed, triggering off a real creative rebirth as a result. “When it comes to sound, I’m inspired by my natural surroundings and life experiences. I’m fascinated with how sound can be a lived-in encounter having transformative qualities for both the artist and the audience. I envision to create mini-worlds with each piece of music, transporting the listener into a journey that bridges the gap between the conscious and the unconscious.” Settled-down in Berlin since 2016, Elninodiablo is further developing his music production skills at Catalyst Music, the creative arts & technology institute sheltered at the legendary Funkhaus studios. Taking cues from his traveling experiences, his sound has bloomed into an essentially versatile mosaic of sounds - deftly moving the cursor from hypnagogic dubs to hard-hitting club material, via downtempo electronica, easternmost-infused harmonics and weightlessly soulful hybrids spanning much more than traditional genres could encapsulate; evocative of broad visual expanses, from the vastness of desert scapes to the lush greenery of tropical jungles, and other dreamy interstates. In addition to his solo musical projects, Elninodiablo is also part of 3-piece improvisation collective TMDG (The Most Dangerous Gay), which quite finely sums up his approach to sound and its aura: “With TMDG it’s like standing on the edge of a cliff - I love the thrill of free improvisation, feeding off my bandmates and the crowd’s energy to create something new and unexpected. ̸BIOGRAPHY fka.m4a is tearing it up on dance floors across the world. “Everyone needs a dose of fka.m4a in their lives. The London-born artist moved to Berlin over two years ago and remains a constant source of warmth on the airwaves of the city’s HÖR Radio, where they bounce between Italo disco, chunky house, hi-NRG beats and pepperings of psychedelic techno with exuberant energy. Standing out like the intricately-coloured tattoos emblazoned on their chest, fka.m4a’s seamless, feel-good mixes have anchored their presence in Berlin’s dance music and queer scene. Recently signed to Apelago agency, there’s no doubt FKA.m4a is ready to take on an increasingly busy schedule of bookings that will propel their radiant sound worldwide, and the’ve begun to drop hints online about a solo production in the works, due for release at the end of the year.” - DJ Mag, 2021 fka.m4a has already seen tremendous success on dance floors around Europe. Hand picked by the likes of Peggy Gou & Amelie Lens for their events, debuts at Amnesia, Berghain, Circoloco, Boiler Room, Ministry of Sound and many more. 2022 has been a very strong year for the artist, with much more to follow for this rising star.

  • Gabrielle Kwarteng

New York-born DJ and Lot Radio resident Gabrielle Kwarteng is on a steady, slow-burning rise upward. Her guest shows won her a Mixcloud Online Radio Award and a regular slot, which garnered her a loyal following and led to bookings across NY and beyond. Gabrielle Kwarteng’s journey so far is one of passion, dedication and the occasional strike of fate. Born and raised in New York, Kwarteng’s name has recently risen in prominence throughout a challenging time for dance music and club culture. A DJ, radio host and curator, her sets have recently enchanted Panorama Bar in Berlin (four times in less than twelve months, no less), equally vital club spaces such as NYC’s Nowadays and Manchester’s own White Hotel, as well as a span of festivals including Love International, Glastonbury, Melt and Dekmantel Selectors. Listening to Kwarteng, whether in a cavernous rave hall, a sweat-soaked underground club or making intimate selections on the radio, is an experience that feels at once familiar but always energizing. Kwarteng’s diverse taste and open-mindedness lead first, allowing her to fluidly slip through a mix of heady 80s and 90s NY house, disco interpretations that traverse diaspora and eras, percussive passages alongside boldly broken beats and, as the lights get lower, an undeniable acid undercurrent. In an era of everything at once, Kwarteng weaves stories for the dancefloor that often look to the past, but always focus on possible futures. Kwarteng arrived at this position via a mixture of study and circumstance. Born in Brooklyn to Ghanaian parents but raised in the Bronx, her childhood was soundtracked by a mix of first-wave Highlife, Afrobeat and disco. Outside her front door, in a thriving neighborhood of diverse American experiences, entire sounds and scenes expanded and exploded as pop-culture began to mutate in new ways, both online and off. Crossing to Manhattan for school, the tempo changed entirely as rock, hip hop and experimental music filled Kwarteng’s ears while she studied intensely. Her academic focus was paramount, but Kwarteng couldn’t help but drift back towards the beat. First, from sciences to arts, where, at an esteemed upstate New York university, her dedication to trawling music blogs rendered Kwarteng the de facto DJ for house parties. She also began broadcasting on college radio; her daybreak show was a particular hit with professors arriving to work early to mark before lectures. Bouncing back to New York, Kwarteng continued to present a show on the burgeoning online radio station The Lot. In 2017, she was presented with the Mixcloud Online Radio Award for Best Eclectic Show, an early and completely unexpected acknowledgement of an instinct for music that traversed genre expectations. In parallel, Kwarteng played each and every Saturday night in the majestic ballroom of the SoHo Grand, amassing vinyl for a residency that helped define the uptown musical scene with her own downtown sensibilities. Now based in Europe, Kwarteng continues to criss-cross not only genres, but continents. Overcoming her inherent introversion to nervously approach Giles Peterson at a record store in Paris proved fortuitous; so impressed was the storied DJ by Kwarteng’s show on local station Le Mellotron, he invited her to appear at his own festival, Worldwide. Appearances at suitably open-minded spaces in Madrid, London, Bristol, Copenhagen and Kyiv soon followed. Wherever she performs, Kwarteng’s expertise serves to not only continue the championing of Black American genres such as house, techno and disco, but equally, to explore the continuum of global dance music as a whole. Having laid the foundations for a unique musical journey, it’s a level of respect that’s tangible on any dancefloor. In these increasingly sacred spaces, Gabrielle Kwarteng’s personal passion translates into collective ecstasy. The dig continues.

As time went on, word of mouth began to spread about Dixon and his talents. While in college he accompanied The Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit as an accompanist/bandleader for their productions and concerts as well as performed all over the city and state. Jon currently teaches multiple group piano classes at the Michigan State University Community Music School in Midtown Detroit. • KASKADE

“Kaskades signature sound is as unmistakable as it is beautiful; a combination of dewy female vocals, tough electronic underpinnings, and memorable melodies.” — Billboard,The New York Times may have called him the “new face of electronic dance music” in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade. He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more. In doing so, he has helped to lay the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift: a post-rock EDM revolution that has captured the imagination of a new generation of music lovers across North America,Kaskade has been named America’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ. In 2012, he will appear at this year’s Coachella, for which he has a special performance planned, and will hit the road in May for his biggest headlining tour ever — 50-plus North American shows in just over three months. His own live show is a jaw-dropping spectacle that finds him performing in front of an 80-foot wide, three-stories tall LED screen that blares images synched with the music while strobe Lights scan the crowd. Kaskade’s belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city’s status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.,Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Raddon was heavily influenced by New Wave bands like The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Smiths that ignited his love for melody and lyrics and was strongly impacted by the house music scene that developed in Chicago. Following stints spinning throughout college and in A&R at OM Records, he began working on his own music, which includes multiple singles, EPs, and remixes, as well as the albums: his most recent 2011 release Fire & Ice – which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 17 on the Top 200 Albums chart, while the iTunes version debuted at No. 4 on the overall album chart. The Fire disc contains ten original songs geared firmly toward the dancefloor, while on the Ice disc, Kaskade delivers the perfect down-tempo post-club experience by remixing all ten songs. Both discs showcase the musical versatility tat has characterized his work ever since he began writing his own songs. This album was preceded by It’s You, It’s Me (2003), In the Moment (2004), The Calm (2006), Here & Now (2006), Love Mysterious (2006), Strobelite Seduction (2008), Dynasty (2010) and Dance.Love (2010).

Invited by Richie Hawtin to open for him at his millennium celebration: Epok, Magda was entering a new phase in her career.,In the time since, Magda has expanded her work with Hawtin, becoming his sole choice to open many of his recent Detroit and international events, including: Jak DEMF weekend :2001, Control. labor day weekend: 2001, as well as earning an envious position on the line up of “From Our Minds To Yours” the Plus 8 ten year anniversary party.,The next few months will see Magda going on her third european tour alongside Richie Hawtin and making the jump from dj to producer, releasing music under the moniker: Run/Stop Restore on the Minus label.

  • MARK FARINA

Over the last ten years, Mark Farina has built himself up to become one of the most sought-after DJs in dance music today. Though he is mostly recognized for his deep-house DJ prowess, it is Farina’ wide-ranging musical knowledge that helped shape the Mushroom Jazz series, a continuously mixed collection of down-tempo, dance-floor jazz for the turntablist generation. A mix-tape made over eight years ago was the project’ original seed – a similarly-styled tape of jazz tunes that articulated a mellower counterpart to the up-tempo “Acid Jazz” movement of the day.,Farina’ “Mushroom Jazz” sound subsequently became popular through a long-running San Francisco club called Jazid Up, then through various Mushroom Jazz clubs thrown domestically and abroad.,Farina began his DJing career at the age of 15, inspired by the strong house and dance music scene pulsating in Chicago’ underground. Along with long time friend and DJ partner, Derrick Carter, Farina cut his teeth on the college radio airwaves of Northwestern University’ WNUR every Friday night for 2 years. Farina has released one album, Mood.,(Nettwerk UK Records, under the name Symbols and Instruments), and several other mix projects including Seasons (Domestic Records), United DJs of America (DMC) and Imperial Dub’ compilation (Imperial Dub) in addition to the Mushroom Jazz series and his mix on OM Records’ “San Francisco Sessions’” debut.

̸BIOGRAPHY Meg10 is a Berlin born and raised club DJ whose genre-bending sets ranging from Hip Hop & Dancehall to Tropical sounds, Electronic beats and Club music will leave you gagged on the floor, always and forever wanting more. Gizem Adiyaman aka Meg10 is one of the most compelling DJs to come out of Berlin, Germany. Her political outspokenness and love for Y2K Hip Hop & RnB are key components to her musical ID. As the co-founder of Germany’s most talked about femme focused club night and soundsystem Hoe_mies, Meg10 and her work have been featured in many press outlets, including High Snobiety, Vogue Germany, Hypebae, and Vice, which named Hoe_mies “Germany’s most important DJ-Team”. With her genre-bending sound that combines both, so called ‘urban’ & electronic music, as well as her feminist stance to foster a more female and queer inclusive Hip Hop scene, Meg10 has been taking over Germany for the last 4 years. She’s opened for and toured with some of the most relevant artists in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria – including Shirin David, Loredana and Bilderbuch - and even curated stages at acclaimed festivals such as Splash! and Melt. It is hardly surprising to find that Meg10’s mixes on Hör Berlin have garnered support internationally, earning her appearances on stations such as Triple J in Australia and Foundation FM in the UK. At home, in Berlin, her club night Hoe_mies – a female & LGBTQ inclusive party pulling together a broad spectrum of genres from Hip Hop, Dancehall, Afro & Baile Funk to Jersey Club, House & Breakbeat - is still overhitting capacity and empowers its community to take up space in male domains. Bring your buckets and your mops because Meg10’s sets boasting with bass music, femme energy, and explicit lyrics to lipsync to, will make you sweat to say the least…

  • Phoebe (1)

̸BIOGRAPHY A necessary agitator in the city of Lisbon's underground, Bruno Trigo Gonçalves, aka Phoebe, has delivered some of the most urgent and desirable sonic infusions around today. Anyone who is, in fact, aware of what is being built on the clubbing circuit in Lisbon, away from the media attention, will hardly have not come across Phoebe. Whether as the founder of Troublemaker Records, at the helm of Rádio Quântica, as a programmer for the festivals Ano 0 and Rama em Flor, resident DJ at the mina or one of the pillars of Planeta Manas. In the midst of so much activity, it's almost a miracle that Phoebe manages, at the same time, to create a highly idiosyncratic musical journey, in permanent sound mutation, not letting himself be imprisoned by expectations of obeying a rigid stylistic scheme. The EP that now arrives from the hands of Discos Extends (joining a luxury catalogue composed of records by Diogo, Rabumazda, Luar Domatrix or V i L) has that urgency of someone who is always running in search of something, a light that illuminates bodies in the midst of the chaos of everyday life. “Sempre a Correr” follows the EP that Phoebe released in the summer of 2021 on Rotten \ Fresh, entitled “if i was simple in the mind, everything would be fine”, an authentic exercise in catharsis between the noisy sound walls of shoegaze and the rubble of ambient, without ever losing sight of the dance floor and the rave appeal. Since then, Phoebe hasn't stopped. At the end of 2021, he created the “Sweet Love Making” label with BLEID, through which the split “Love is patient, love is kind, love will make you lose your mind” (2021) came out, which included the songs “Marrazes” and “Causeway Bay”, authentic punches in the stomach from percussive polyrhythm. Throughout 2022 several themes were released that helped to map Phoebe's musical path, without ever seeing this puzzle completed (and thankfully): “Club Tool; “Down to Whatever;” “Estou Perdido”; and “K-LUBE 01/02”. Bruno Gonçalves, or Phoebe, will always continue to run, there is no doubt about that. The new album proves that unstoppable urgency that distinguishes him and his music ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Affection, Troublemaker Records; 2019 Living On Valued Time, Quantica; 2020 If I Was Simple Everything Would Be Fine, Rotten fresh; 2021 Sempre a Correr, Discos Extendes/Extended Records; 2022

̸BIOGRAPHY S-Candalo is a DJ duo made up of Tania and Dominik Humeres-Correa (THC & DHC). They are siblings, and in their sets, one can hear alongside a deep honour for the oldschool sound a kind of telepathic link that siblings share. Raised in Germany with Colombian and Chilean roots, they are well-acquainted with the act and mindset of mixing (tracks, attitudes, languages) and keeping one’s back to another’s back. In the past years the siblings have engaged in fields ranging from music management to fashion and in their blends there is also a certain synthesis of passion and defined taste that speaks, simply, to fierceness. Fearsomeness, too – their sound is burning and relentless with seductive vocal samples, loopy synths, and bright, punchy kicks. On their recent mixes for platforms such as MARICAS, Radiant Love, Rinse FM, and HÖR, obtuse melodies from the 90s blend with sassy club bangers, then into polyrhythmic grooves, and so on. Their sound is overflowing with the queen and the queer, an energy they also direct into Venus Vessels, a non-profit music collective hosting parties and programming a residency on radio8000. With upcoming gigs this year in London, Amsterdam, Athens and Berlin, expect scandals and heated speakers from city to city.

̸BIOGRAPHY Performs as DJ since 1993. Residency: Berghain / Panoramabar, Freerotation, Dance Tunnel Label: OstGut Ton. Style: Deep, dry & funky news and classics from House to Techno including Disco, Broken Beat, Afrobeat .... I started out in a bar called Drama in Kreuzberg, which has been an important hang out for the scene and one of the first bars ever to feature its own djs at the weekend. The Drama has been one of the few locations featuring house music, instead of techno dominating all the other clubs and bars at that time. I used to play a lot of soulful vocal house and quickly became a resident at Globus/Tresor, as well as at the gay Saturdays at Café Moskau. „My motivation is and has been a mixture of fun and communication. Verbally as well as non-verbally. I love to create and play with different moods and atmospheres. I’m still fascinated by the fact that music can release a huge amount of energy and how music creates fun, jollying anyone along without any reason or principle. Music and bass in particular can make people happy!“ Since 1997, when I have been a resident at Globus/Tresor, I gradually opened up stylistically and didn’t feel the need anymore to go along the lines of the techno and house division. Since 2001 I regularly played at the gay/lesbian „Dance with the Aliens“ parties at the old OstGut and consequently at the end of 2004 I became a resident at the new Panorama Bar / Berghain. In the meantime I developed a varied style ranging from new and classic House to Techno including a lot of Disco, Afrobeats..... It is fundamental to my work as a DJ that I manage to let the music, the crowd and myself run freely. I have to turn off my head and go with the flow. This always is the challenge and if it works it is big fun. The crowd and i have to get kind of cosy with each other. And if I manage to build my set up and down, to go to lots of different places, it is perfect! ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY - Prosumer & Tama Sumo: Play up / Brothers, Sisters (OstGut Ton 14 / March 2008) - Tama Sumo: Panoramabar # 2 Mix CD (OstGut Ton CD 10 / October /2009) - Tama Sumo & Prosumer: Alien Mutts (Diamonds & Pearls / October 2009) - Prosumer & Tama Sumo: Rarified EP (OstGut Ton 36 / May 2010) - Mount Kimbie: William (Prosumer & Tama Sumo Remix) (Hotflush Recordings / May 2010) - Mary Boyoi: Zooz (Tama Sumo Remix) (Süd Electronic) - The Knife: Ready To Lose (Tarantism Remix) (Rabid Records)

  • THC

̸BIOGRAPHY Bogotá-born, Berlin-based Tania Humeres Correa plays under the moniker of her own initials: THC. It’s not a gimmick – to hear a track slammed into another so deftly is a psychoactive experience. THC’s sets are kinetic, propulsive in this way. High-energy without a loss of soul, hard-hitting and still very playful and very gay. We are reminded that techno need not be a gloomy, rumbling march, and that house has a whole range of attitudes at the same time ruthless and smiling. She blazes, to put it simply. Having heated Berlin dancefloors and airwaves for a few years, THC is one of the founders and resident at La Noche and Venus Vessels. She has her own show HOT BOX at HÖR radio, and has released mixes via DJ Mag, Fact Mag and NTS. The last year has also seen her playing alongside her sibling DHC as the duo unit S-candalo. Regardless of format, there are always those THC-signatures: punch; euphoria; and streaks of vocal samples intoning the classic dancefloor theme of unity, be it political, sexual, spiritual or some sweaty mixture of it all.

Her music taste has been shaped internationally, starting from her early years in London, and polished as being an important part of Kyiv’s rising scene, where she curated the Outside Festival and Gems party in the underground club Otel’. Her sets are always unique and unpredictable, with the strong favor towards 90’s and 2000’s flavors, mixture of broken and straight beats, classical acid basslines and groovy sounds. • Violet (PT)

̸BIOGRAPHY Producer and DJ from Lisbon, Portugal DJ, producer, boss of Naive records, co-founder of Rádio Quântica, and mina resident Violet has been shaking up Lisbon’s nightlife culture. Since moving back to Portugal in 2016, Violet’s talent for elegantly blending techno with breakbeats and acid basslines has been recognised. Inês Borges Coutinho, aka Violet, sees her role in the Lisbon underground far beyond making and mixing music, using her seemingly boundless energy to amplify other artists all the while progressing her own creative practice. Violet began producing records in 2012, and her output includes The Chain and River Styx EPs on One Eyed Jack’s. Based in London for a time, Coutinho returned to Portugal full of drive, which pushed her to start Naive and found online station Rádio Quântica, both in an effort to give a platform to marginalised artists. Her positive energy and openness began to attract the LGBTQ community, and she began working with mina, a collective that aims to bring ravers and DJs together with sexual and gender liberation causes. Mykki Blanco named Violet as one of the most influential DJs in the underground scene: “it became clear to me who was moving and shaking things up in this city…Violet represents to me the change I want to see in this world, which is powerful women running electronic music and beyond.” At Lisbon Pride, as a demonstration against the lack of representation for the trans community, Violet invited various trans artists to gatecrash her DJ set and occupy her platform. Since the release of Violet’s Togetherness EP, her label naive has staked its claim as one of underground dance music’s most exciting new labels. In 2018 came three critically acclaimed 12’’s from Violet and BLEID, Almaty’s Gennaro, and Octo Octa & Eris Drew. At the end of 2018, Mixmag named Naive one of their top 25 records labels of the year. ̸SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Violet - Togetherness (naive) Violet - Eternal Fountain (Paraíso) Violet - River Styx (One Eyed Jacks) Emauz - 1968 (Violet Remix) Violet - Night Song (Snuff Trax) Violet - The Chain (One Eyed Jacks) Violet - Collective Data (Wicked Bass)

  • y.unan

̸BIOGRAPHY In Istanbul’s vivid electronic music scene trends come and go. Only a handful of properties remain, regardless of this rapid and constant change. Yeşim Unan is one of these rare phenomenons of the city, who keeps her groove steady for a long time. Starting to put together her musical library in the late 90’s, she soon became a sought after name in the growing dance music scene of the 2000’s. Adopting Juliewinters name at the early period of her career, she was not only a mainstay at the booths of the renowned clubs and festivals of the era, but also a creative force contributing to the scene as a graphic, stage and concept designer, event manager, editor, radio programmer and musical director. In 2008, Yeşim was chosen as Turkey’s participant to Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona. From there on she carved herself a distinguished style, while doing the nightshift at the iconic venues of the local scene like Pixie, Arka Oda, Wake Up Call, Suma Beach or Mama to name a few.
