about
An American dub and reggae connoisseur previously based in Hong Kong, The Groove Thief [TGT] currently lives in Denver, Colorado, USA. Including the influential Pomegranate club residency, TGT promoted hundreds of events in the 852, leading the South China Morning Post to name him “among Hong Kong’s leading arbiters of musical taste.”
In Colorado with his Pomegranate Hi Fi sound system, TGT has organized backyard boogies, guerrilla pop-ups, and sponsored collaborations, plus he’s rapidly becoming a leading American voice celebrating reggae and sound system culture. Beyond releasing live sets, mashups, and mixes, he also hosts monthly “Reggae Transfusion” and “Dub Palace” radio shows for KGNU, and is a regular guest host of the famed “Reggae Bloodlines” show. In addition, he’s a co-founder of the Hong Kong-based Pomegranate Sounds record label, which has released music from both local and international artists.
