After getting to know each other in Zürich in 2008, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer became inseparable, not just as friends, but also as artists. The two men carved out a career as one of the most consistently delivering DJ/producer duos in the house and techno scene: Adriatique. The key to an enduring partnership is, of course, to complement each other, and the two Adrians do so admirably. Music-wise, their various tastes combine into one unique sound, and their respective preference for studio work and performance means that both aspects are equally well covered. Adriatique’s DJ performances as well as their productions are long, meditative, relentlessly building affairs, ever challenging the listener with subtle twists interrupting their hypnotic groove. Two friends meet outside Karlsruhe, in Schwarzwald. One is an explorer of galaxies far away, the other a composer of fragments. Together they create a joie de vivre, arranging and deconstructing their creations, their own formations. Beneath their feet, a stone world rests against the living world, touching rivers, mountains, forest floors and the first foot trails between Schwarzwald, Vosges Mountains and Naturpark Pfälzerwald. This stone world is made of smooth subterranean rock that swirls and folds. Altered from its original igneous by pressures a hundred thousand years strong. What was once sharp is now smooth. Lines become curves, reversals. If you were to try read its origin, its strata, you would not tell which direction the past flowed or the future began.

One of dance music’s brightest stars, 27-year old Berlin based producer and live act Ben Böhmer has had another monumental year. His debut album ‘Breathing’, released on Anjunadeep at the end of 2019, has since attained over 25 million streams, drawing admirers from across the Electronic music spectrum; including Boris Brejcha, who remixed the title track and pronounced Ben as his ‘Breakthrough Artist of 2020’. A string of other singles and remixes released across the year have seen Ben become a mainstay in the flagship Electronic playlists and Beatport 100, as he sets his sights on his second album, due out towards the end of 2021.

Glasgow-based DJ/producer Hector Barbour (aka Denis Sulta) creates vivacious, melodic house with underground sensibilities. Born in Glasgow in 1993, he grew up with a keen interest in dance music, landing his first job at the infamous record shop Rubadub. It was during his tenure there that he took up both music production and DJ'ing under the guidance of his co-workers, who were all very passionate about the scene. His early tracks were darker in tone, but as he started playing more and more gigs, his music became more uplifting. To reflect the change in style, he reversed the name Atlus to Sulta and adopted Denis as a prefix (originally spelled "Dennis," a printing error led him to drop an "n" in favor of Denis). From there he went on to release EPs, eventually setting up his own label and brand, Sulta Selects. Barbour took the brand on a global tour, which became so popular that it spawned a full festival, FLY Open Air: Sulta Selects, held at Hopetoun House just outside of Edinburgh. ~ AllMusic

British deep/tech-house DJ and producer Daley Padley has achieved a remarkable amount of success under the name Hot Since 82. His tracks are energetic and a touch dramatic, yet smooth and not over-produced, and perfectly tailored for clubs and dance festivals. After collecting some of his initial singles and remixes as Hot Since 82 on the 2013 full-length Little Black Book, Padley founded Knee Deep in Sound in 2014 and continued releasing singles and mix CDs on the label, as well as others such as Truesoul and Moon Harbour. ~ AllMusic

After learning the ropes at Amsterdam’s legendary club 11, Job began his adventure at the renowned Innervisions label in Berlin. With all Job has achieved so far and a current heavy touring schedule, including appearances spanning from Burning Man to Panorama Bar, one can only wonder where he will go next.

JP Enfant has quickly established himself as a prominent figure on the techno scene with his melancholic yet potent sound. The Amsterdam local has achievements such as residency at the former Trouw and now De School, as well as performances at Berghain, Klockworks, and Dystopian on his resume.

Kléo aka Clélia Zida is a French born Dj and visual artist based in Amsterdam. An intuitive force behind the decks, she selects from a vast record collection, bringing the dance floor together with seamless all-vinyl mixes.

Amsterdam based DJ and producer Luuk van Dijk (’96) is dominating the house scene through his productions and on stage with his contagious energy and radiant personality. Known for his strong basslines and groovy vibe with a clear old skool vision, Luuk’s sound remains instantly recognizable. Van Dijk has performed at a range of local and international clubs and festivals, including Paradise, Awakenings, elrow, DGTL and Cocoon, playing alongside artists such as Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Sven Väth, Joseph Capriati, Patrick Topping and Kerri Chandler, to name a few. His productions have been picked up by massive labels such as Hot Creations, Eastenderz and Solid Grooves. Establishing his very own label Dark Side Of The Sun in 2019 to release his own tracks as well as those of other tastemakers, Luuk van Dijk has just begun showing the world his musical vision.

DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann is recognised as one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno. Widely associated with iconic trademarks including Berlin, Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of electronic music, integrating art with the scene. Raised in the former GDR, in a small town near Berlin, Dettmann had already begun to develop his passion for electronic music in his youth. Bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Front 242, as well as post-punk and industrial, count as his earliest influences, long before he discovered his affinity for techno. His hometown lacked a record store specialising in electronic music, so between 1995 and 1998 Dettmann began selling vinyl from his own home. He purchased records from various distributers, Hard Wax amongst others, both to resell to his friends and to cement the foundation for his own considerable collection. Like many of his friends, the mid-nineties saw Dettmann frequenting Berlin’s nightlife. This included club institutions E-Werk and Tresor where the resident DJs of that time aroused his passion for the Chicago and Detroit influenced sound. In 1999, after many (including self-organised) parties, his turning point came; Dettmann began to work as a resident DJ at Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor. Shortly thereafter upon receiving a job offer from Hard Wax, he finally moved to Berlin. His apprenticeship as a vinyl buyer and seller as well as DJ, granted him an extensive depth of musical knowledge and intuition. Dettmann quests tirelessly for new ways and inspiration to further develop his own concept of electronic music. His label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records) serves as a platform upon which to shape his musical vision, and through its releases, to launch new talent onto the techno scene. As a curator and producer, Dettmann fosters the call to create in a way which is equally timeless and innovative. His own releases comprise two albums on Ostgut Ton, numerous singles and remixes for artists of various genres – Junior Boys, Fever Ray, Moderat, Commix, Clark and Laibach to name a few. Furthermore, he has produced compilation albums for London’s fabric club, Berlin’s Berghain, the Belgian techno label Music Man and one issue of the DJ Kicks compilation series on !K7 imprint. Outside of the club context, Marcel Dettmann has established himself as a multi-faceted artist. He designed the sound concept for „New Works“, an exhibition of photographer Frederike von Rauch, contributed to the contemporary dance project „Masse“ – together with Frank Wiedemann and choreographer Nadja Saidakowa in cooperation with Berghain and the Berlin State Ballet. His single “Seduction feat. Emika” provided the soundtrack to director and screenwriter Parker Ellerman’s short film of the same name. As a passionate DJ and one of the faces of Berghain, Dettmann seeks to inspire his listeners with sounds both reduced and rough, balanced by emotional and surprising moments throughout his sets. Between pure techno, banging Chicago, tracks old and new of the past twenty-five years, Marcel Dettmann communicates his message with an apparent effortlessness.

With a sound born in New York and refined in Berlin, Margaret Dygas is an artist whose sound possesses a true international resonance. Her productions and dj-sets incorporate the deep and dub-influenced sound she loves, whilst retaining the driving funk of her musical past.

Meetsysteem is a project by the 27-year-old Ricky Cherim, born and raised in Amsterdam. Having spent most of his youth in the basement of his parents making music - he finally found his voice through tech house, beat scene and rap, and in the Dutch pop song.

“Nicolas lutz has been influenced by his father's record collection”....Errr., NOT.. As much as I wouldn't like to discard one's childhood influences to forming one's artistic make up (that is not Nico's case anyway, hehe) I would still prefer to focus on other aspects which are equally, if not more important when talking about this specific artist. What that artist name (and real name) entails is a very deep trip into an extremely creative mind, a very interesting one. The main and very special aspect of what makes Nicolas Lutz him artistically is the ethos in how he stands by his music, his vision. Nicolas' medium of choice is vinyl and the cultural tradition it brings with it. In such a digital age the tendency from the general public to think that Djs that only use vinyl are ‘dinosaurs’or ‘behind’ or ‘limited’ is apparent and the beauty about Nicolas is that he proves them wrong leaving them wondering what has hit them on a dance floor. Nina Kraviz is one of techno’s most iconic DJs. Famous for both her dynamic and varied DJ sets, captivating performances and her acclaimed label трип (Trip), she’s been a techno powerhouse since she launched on the scene in 2009. In 2020, she played a series of live stream events and virtual festivals including an empty Dance Arena at EXIT and even on top of Mount Olympus in Greece. She also collaborated with streaming giants Spotify when she was chosen to be part of their trackID series, providing a regularly updated playlist to the platform that includes tracks from her own label as well as a diverse collection of releases from across multiple genres. That genre-hopping is also evident in her sets, where trance, techno, ambient and hardstyle can all be heard in one swoop, with her inimitable presence in the booth adding to the allure of Kraviz’s sets. As the DJ who played the most sets of any other in 2018, we’re sure she’ll be the first to hit the road again once it’s safe to do so. ~ DJMag

A familiar face on Amsterdam's thriving underground scene, Pieter Jansen has been bubbling away beneath the surface of the Dutch scene since the early part of the decade. Watch him cultivate a personal DJ style that prioritizes darker and deeper records while remaining focused on the dancefloor.

Dutch producer-duo Polynation stormed the scene in 2015 with their lustrous debut EP Allogamy. Adopting both rhythmic tension and a wide range of acoustic and electronic tools, Stijn Hosman and Hessel Stuut gradually translated their intricate studio finesse to the more improvisational, spontaneous dynamic of live performance. In the process, tracks like ‘Why You’ and ‘Anther’ amassed wide international acclaim, earning airplay by Gilles Peterson on BBC6 and performing festivals like Amsterdam Dance Event, Best Kept Secret, Eurosonic and Pitch Festival. In May 2019, Polynation’s full-length debut Igneous is released on Atomnation - a product of two laborious years of studio tinkering.

DJ/producer Prunk is working at his own pace, but this doesn’t mean he’s taking things slow. His label PIV, which he started in 2015, has been steadily releasing EP’s, like his own production ‘Sexy Brasil’ that was released on the imprint in the spring of 2016. Together with his sparring partner Chris Stussy, Prunk released the ‘Material’ EP on EWax in the winter of 2016 and the two also released ‘The Machine’ EP that came out on the notorious Nervous Records and EP’s on Moulton and Innercity Records. These EP’s caught the attention of vocalist Alex Mills, who you can hear on Miguel Campbell’s hit Something Special. Prunk and Mills hooked up in the studio with No Cure as a result. Other labels Prunk has released records on are: Electronique, City Soul and King Street. Next to producing Prunk is a resident STRAF_WERK and he is a regular at DGTL and Jenja (Bali), has played in Monaco, Barcelona, Zürich, Lille, São Paulo, Ibiza and at Awakenings Festival. His warm and sexy, but always dancefloor orientated...

ROD is just one of Benny Rodrigues many alter-egos. ROD’s debut was the critically acclaimed ‘Malmok’ was released on Ben Klock’s imprint ‘Klockworks’ in 2011. Under this moniker, Rodrigues explores everything from Detroit to Chicago, acid to dub, and industrial to offbeat.

During recent years, Steven Julien has grown to become one of the UK’s finest electronic musicians. Known to mix house, soul, boogie, and techno with finesse, Steven will without a doubt provide grooves galore while bringing it all together into one danceable whole this September.

Los Angeles-based Egyptian Lover aka Greg Broussard was one of the early pioneers of the hip-hop/electro fusion-movement and made history with the singles Egypt Egypt (1984) and Freak-A-Holic (1986). Started to make mixtapes as a teenager with tracks he recorded off the radio, Broussard soon took his music to the streets of LA as a member of Uncle Jamm's Army. This living legend will take the stage in September, make sure to lock it in.

Now based in Amsterdam, he moved to the Dutch capital in early 2018 — and has barely had time to pause for breath since. A producer who boasts an impressively prolific streak, Toman started his musical journey at an early age. More recently, his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets such as We R House, Cyclic, META, No Art, PIV, Blind Vision and Inermu, yet Toman’s story is no overnight success. On the contrary, his is one that that’s as attributable to a ceaseless work ethic as it is a music-loving upbringing and an unyielding appreciation of sound. Fascinated by all things percussion, Toman began learning the drums in his early teens, a move that would eventually steer him toward what he considers the “unrestrictive complexities of electronic music”. A producer with an endlessly eclectic palette, Toman cites the likes of Underworld, Minilogue, and Terry Lee Brown Jr as influences, all of whom attest in some way to his own eclectic palette.
