Anh Vy is one of the youngest Djs in the Saigon underground scene and one of The Observatory’s newest residents. He's recognised by the versatility and flexibility in music. He was one of the resident DJs of former Upper Saigon. As time goes by, he is making himself into an interesting and promising piece of Saigon’s underground scene as an artist and a contributor with his very own uniqueness.

Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, and after traveling near and far, he relocated to his home country in 2018. Quickly becoming one of the key players in Hanoi as part of the Savage crew, he recently moved back to Saigon, where he is now the newest resident of The Observatory. Khoi presents a fun and light-hearted attitude to dance music with eclectic selections and a dreamy, percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences to use on any dance floor he’s put in control of, with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

A long-time record collector and connoisseur of jazz funk, disco, afro, reggae and other hidden rarities, Datodeo moved his vinyl to Vietnam from his native France and has since spent most of his spare time spinning around Saigon and the region. He also runs the Vietnam Loves Vinyl online community and worked on the Saigon SuperSound Compilation with Jan Hagenkoetter. Datodeo’s sets are rich explorations of hidden corners of the dance universe, from rare deep house cuts and lost disco and Afro gems to jazz funk movements and contemporary electronic twists. Party music at its purest and most complete, the sound he presents demands to be soaked in and danced to.

Hibiya Line is not Japanese. Behind that name hides Dan, a Swiss-Vietnamese guy who in 2006 began playing live acts mixing beats, house and techno in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland with two friends. They quickly made a name for themselves were invited to play in some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Motel Campoto name a few. His deep immersion in the Swiss party scene eventually brought him to Saigon in 2012, and in 2013, he opened The Observatory. Since then, Hibiya Line has become known as one of the most versatile and resilient DJs in the region, with more than enough capacity and drive to take full control of dance floors from the sundown to sunrise. Hibiya Line’s sound explores the house, disco and techno, but his dancefloor can always expect to experience some open-ended style tracks thrown in that make the audio journey more diverse and interesting...

Nic Ford moved to Vietnam from the UK around 10 years ago, and has been running and featuring on lineups of parties throughout the region since then. He has been a resident of The Observatory since it first opened in 2013. Honing his skills since the mid-nineties, he held his first residency at Dry 201 in Manchester and is a voracious collector of a vast array of music. He’s also a highly acclaimed producer, being one half of MadderModes, a production outfit that has releases on a range of impressive labels including DRED, Voodoo Down Records and Millions of Moments.

Bringing diversity to the decks as an avid dancer, organizer and DJ, Park Lee (Giang Bac) is a Vietnamese-mixed Korean who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City. Having spent some years away, Park was only inspired to start DJ-ing once he had relocated back to his home, where he found himself developing alongside the city’s burgeoning music scene.Park started off through playing at small house parties, and quickly grew into a regular in the local scene. This led him to begin organizing events with friends, most notably the GenderFunk party series in Saigon, a breakthrough collective and pioneer in creating safe spaces for local Queer artists and community, and their own brand of creativity, musical diversity and live performance since 2018.

One of The Observatory residents, Kin’s approach to his sets is intelligent, sensual and constantly evolving. Through his carefully chosen selections, he crafts a sonic flow that careens through the gaps between the physical and emotional. He slowly disarms and relaxes his dance floor while heightening its awareness with tracks from the more shadowy sides of house and delicate frequencies of techno. His dance floor can also be frequently surprised by licks of disco and other unexpected delicacies.

Born in Paris in the ’80s, Desnuages was immersed in music growing up with his mother dancer. Percussionist autodidact, he learns to play Darbouka and Djembe. Attracted by the Parisian night, he was quickly interested by the electronic scene and used to go to Concrete, Rex club with DJ friends where he discovers micro house, deep and minimal. He moved to Saigon in Vietnam in 2018 where he started to learn Djing with Dj friends and was resident at Arcan Club.

La Riff is Axel Riffaud nickname gave from his childhood friends. It lasted over the years as the strong friendship. Axel grow up with all kind of music in his ears. As many others he first been a dancefloor lover, always looking for the eclectic music. Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Palma de Mallorca, Hong Kong & Ho Chi Minh City been his playground. By the beginning of 2019 La Riff touched for his first time a CDJ, one month later he was starting performing in reputed venues for underground music of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Summer 2019, he started to produce his own tracks with the idea of feed his DJ Set. He immediately got the virus of that and quickly been recognize by professional of the industry for his work.

Min8 (TWH,Half.Half) started his career since 2013 in Hanoi and a few years then, in 2017, he has joined and became a dynamic DJ of Hanoi music underground scene. His music is a harmonic combination of House, Techno and 90s Trancey sounds, with no limit in mixing or need to differentiate genres in a music flow. Along with remarkable achievements in Vietnam, Min8 also gets his name at outbound events and clubs in Asia and Europe, especially is tagging his name to Berlin in 2019. Min8 had a time working for Savage (Hanoi) as resident DJ, and at the present is with The Warehouse (Hanoi). He also hosts [Half•Half] - an event series with missons of connecting and delivering the value of art and music from local artists to overseas communities.

Music has the power to alter emotions. MyHero a.k.a. Jordan Bates believes this power of music is best served hot, without limitation or rules. Growing up in 80’s suburbia, MyHero’s taste for electronic music was fueled by Düsseldorf, Chicago, Essex, New York City and Detroit mixed with queer club culture. Kraftwerk, Salsoul Orchestra, Talking Heads, Mr. Fingers, Klein & MBO, The ORB and Adonis are all the roots of MyHero’s house. As an active member of the Mugic collective of deejays and party promoters based in Singapore, MyHero continues his more than 15 years of playing lounges, clubs and parties in the US and across Asia. Nayla, founder of On Point Worldwide Records, is a producer and DJ born and raised in the UK, releasing a selection of instrumental Hip Hop, House and Disco Edits. As a DJ, his genre fluid track selection represents a spicy fusion of Garage, House, Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Italo and Bass, with a healthy injection of Global Sounds. Currently residing in South East Asia with a recent base in Ho Chi Minh City he is a regular face at clubs and events such as The Observatory, Kobala, Savage, The Lighthouse, and Studio Adventure. Indeed, his tracks are sure to satisfy an array of tastes and dispositions. S1cyr started his music education through classical and jazz, while being fully immersed into the 90´s golden era of Hip-Hop. His journey behind the decks started when returning to the Nam, following the path of the pioneers of the local under/over-ground. His style can be defined as raw and cosmic, minimalist and sophisticated, deep and groovy, warm and ice cold.

Originally Teruu played as a drummer in a Tokyo based Hardcore Punk band for 10 years. He was taken over by the charm of dance music in 20xx and started DJing since 2015. His energetic, disco sets are fuelled by techno, house, afro and other obscurities. He was a resident at the infamous Savage in Hanoi before he moved to Saigon, where he was a booking manager of DJ bar WAM. Recently, we focus on and promote DJs and producers from Vietnam and other neighbouring Asian countries as the founder of Mogra Radio.

Ume is the Japanese DJ originally from Osaka and currently based in Saigon. He began his path as a selector in the underground parties surrounding his hometown, He is a member of the Mogra Radio. His music is a delicate soundtrack to the “here and now”. It is difficult to attribute it to any single genre, it is a reflection of the moment in time, atmosphere and mood of music lovers around. His sets are always filled with rhythmic grooves, extravagance and echoes from different cultures and worlds.

A producer and DJ deep house and techno operating in Asia. Growing up in the heart of a techno scene in Leeds in the mid-90s, Dan moved to London just to be immersed in the bass of Heart & Soul parties, followed by relationships. The system through legendary Eukotech disc performance. Before long, Dan appeared in London's finest underground parties. More recently, after moving the capital to Brighton and the famous free party setting with Positive Soundsystem and Innerfield. At that time, Dan had a regular seat at the Backstage Bar of the Glade Festival. After years of refining sound and craftsmanship, the first 1DAN publication was published through the highly respected label deep house underground Atmospheric Existence in England. Coh-hul is a Tech Funk and Tech House DJ & Producer who is based in Saigon, Vietnam. His signature sound involves heavy basslines, tribal drum patterns layered with groovy sci-fi melodies. His sound is heavily influenced by the Dirtybird and Relief record labels. He is an established act in Vietnam, having residencies at the major clubs in Saigon. His biggest show was in Marseille at Le Chapiteau to a sold out venue laying down the best set of his career. Coh-hul hosts his own radio show “Play It Loud”. The monthly broadcast focuses on the hottest new Tech House and Tech Funk tracks before dedicating the last hour to a record label that gives him inspiration. His Youtube project “Seshnikov” is a one hour long production show that offers tips and showcases new track ideas. Currently all of his focus is spent on production, looking to get some of his own content onto dance floors. An exciting and driven future is what we have in store for this artist.

Di Linh is a young artist from Vietnam. Since she began the musical path, she has been making her mark by the diverse and colorful music selection. She is a part of Hanoi Underground Movement (HUM) and resident DJ at Savage. Till this day, Di Linh often plays in familiar places like Savage, Kobala, Smack Dab,... through local events HUM, Snug, SBD, This is, Guinguette, Unuzual and Quest, Duality, Recess, Studio Adventure, Epizode Festival. Besides, her name also appears the same night with well-known artists such as Lauer, Red Rack’em, Local Suicide, Haruka, Omer, Curses and many more around the world in Epizode. And the highlight of her music career was her performance in HUM Showcase (Epizode) with Marco Yanes, which also mentioned in the official review from Data Transmission. Each space gives her different inspirations, Di Linh is always looking and developing herself to give the audiences a fresh feeling, while still retaining her own unique color. She knows how to lead the audiences' emotions...

Record salesman, drummer in different bands, always attracted by the music he goes in the late 80s to djing discovering his new love: hip hop, he learned the basics of the mix and the love to create a musical universe. Discover House Music in the early 90s in a club near his home in the south of France and begins to become obsessed by this music. 1992 a friend already resident of a bar asks him to replace him and thus begins his career of Dj where he begins to explore the different facets of House Music. For more than 25 years he continues to explore all the different genre of this music wich he considers the richest and varied in emotions.

̸BIOGRAPHY Despite his humble persona, as a DJ and producer, DOTT is an integral player in Bangkok’s ever-expanding underground house and techno scene. Can be sure his sounds will be typified by a deep house and minimal ingrained, tripping groove focused mentality. Although his sound is constantly evolving, DOTT interests is stapled to music for dancing. The approach in both his production and DJ sets is rooted in love for deep house and minimal, combining indelible bassline grooves with an intoxicating analogue sound palette. Despite his humble persona, as a DJ and producer, DOTT is an integral player in Bangkok’s expanding underground house and techno scene, he has played in some of the cities key venues such as BEAM, Glow, Safe Room and De Commune. His reputation has spread across the dance music scene network from clubs to festivals bringing his unique style to Singapore’s Headquarters, Epizode Festival, TAG Chengdu, Wonderfruit, Montreux Jazz Festival, Karma Kastle and a few of illegal and secret parties DOTT is also one of the three founders of "More Rice", an Asia-based, vinyl only label together with Sarayu and Mikhail, in which the direction is more towards obscurity. Their main vision is to support Asia's upcoming talents by creating great connections between them and other international artists around the world. He has played alongside the likes of Roman Flügel, Maayan Nidam, Dandy Jack, Thomas Melchior, Archie Hamilton, Alexi Delano and Eric Volta to name but a few. More recently he has toured Europe, bringing his sound to Paris, Lausanne and Fribourg. As a producer he has released on Body Parts, Oblack, Little Helpers, Whoyostro, Baile Musik as well as his own imprint More Rice and many more.

With a mix of various genres, using techno, indie dance, electronica, down tempo, and more, I wish to bring ravers deep impressions and new concepts of beauty in contemporary music. Manny is a Paris native, currently living in Saigon. Manny’s love for hip hop music started with 90’s French hip hop music and later blossomed when he had started to listen to American hip hop artists, such as 2-Pac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and the NWA. He then went on to co-produce "Le Plan Deb", a French rap lyrics band. His passion for hip hop started to evolve while listening to one of the Wu-Tang Clan’s sample compilations, “Shaolin Soul”. That paved the way which led him into soul funk disco music. Since then, Manny has dabbled with many genres, such as African and tropical culture. He has developed his own styling of soul to topical groove with a touch of modernity. Every so often his music tends to be a little bit wilder, as he explores deeper dark sounds.

It would be wrong to start talking about where Ouissam comes from – after a decade in Asia, he’s now something of a regional entity that has managed to change the dance music scene wherever he has laid down roots. His approach to a dance floor is as simple as it is intuitive and elegant: nothing that can make a room shudder with joy is barred from his selections.As the founder of Hong Kong’s Cliche Records, he was one of the first in that city to cultivate a disco-house-techno synthesis that shifted the understanding of what could be danced to there. He went on to create the magnetic Homesick and Fragrant Harbour labels, before suddenly setting his sights on Hanoi in Vietnam, where he has established the dance mecca Savage where he runs the monthly queer night Snug. And on top of all that, he found time to curate the coveted Equation festival, now entering its second year..

Some artists fully deserve their hype and Powder is definitely one of them. Momoko "Moko" Goto, better known in the DJ world as Powder, has successfully taken her neon charged creations out of the Tokyo underground and into the discerning worldwide house & techno public. After her debut on Lovefingers’ ESP Institute, Powder’s cosmic rhythms found a home on Samo DJ’s Born Free & Discodromo’s CockTail d’Amore Music, pushing her tribal-inspired, hypnotic sound further into a surreal house, techno and psychedelic disco territory. She recently ushered in a brand new mix series for Beats in Space, a further testament to her DJ skills and sensibilities. Beyond her work as a music creator, Powder’s DJing backs up her production style with many influences. As a selector, she has notably eclectic tastes, which run the gamut from house to no wave to Japanese synthpop, utilizing extended loops and subtle blends to create a genre-defying, transcendent experience.

Based in Vietnam and born in France, Robat’s music is often a savant mix of Disco, New Beat, Breakbeat and diverse House, embellished by some big dives into deeper electronic sounds. At the age of 11 when he innocently pressed PLAY on a Miss Kittin record. Few knew that this would change his approach to music forever. The intro of dark synths and the beat slowly creeping in made his head move with a new and wonderful feeling. The Filipino DJ/producer started behind the decks at 15 and tinkered with personal production two years after. Since then, he’s carefully carving his corner: an altogether irresistibly groovy one. Across his recent releases, "Caught Up" (FuFu Records) "Still Life” (More Rice Records / Thailand) and “Over and Over / For The Floor” (Transit Records / Philippines) are easily breaking through as foreseeable dance floor bangers post-pandemic. Slowbirds started DJing and Beat Making in Tokyo at the end of 90's. He moved in Saigon and started the underground bass music party "Base of the Bass" in 2014 and has played at many parties in Vietnam. Co-Founder of Mogra Radio.

A Manila born – Boracay Island based DJ who started spinning back in 2016 and since had a voice in the Philippine underground music scene. She is a Production and Graphic Designer at Area 51 Top Secret Party Facility ( A venue known for The Black Moon and Full Moon Parties that has been running for 8 years in Boracay Island, Philippines.) where she realized her musical inclination by practicing mixing during sound checks.

Steffen is born and raised in east berlin, his first touches with the materia was thru his uncle , who worked in a club called "WM 66" at the end of the 90´s. He also started to produce and playing records in clubs back then, when Techno became the new revolution of berlin. Steffen is introverted and the Half of The Sexinvaders, but he’s also deeply focused on his very new project called after his real name : Steffen Sonnenschein. His tracks stand out, due to its saturated base complimented with matured deep beats. This transcendence between techno and deep house creates an individuating innovating style.

Steve Obi is a lover of anything that makes a dance floor move. A dj career that spans over 11 years has seen him play in all the top clubs in his hometown of Dublin and also more recently in Hanoi where he is now based. Steve is also avid vinyl collector, club night promoter and familiar name on the Irish festival circuit. Expect to hear sounds across a broad sonic spectrum ranging from classic disco, old skool 90's house and African grooves, to retro italo bangers, acid techno and everything in between.

Snake charmer born and located in Thailand with Indian and Japanese roots. Co-founder of Siamese Twins record label focusing on psychedelic sounds rooted in Asia. Co-runs the Karma Klique collective known for raves at obscure locations. As a producer, he released on imprints such as 禁 JIN, Ute and Siamese Twins under his own name, Mogambo and Khun Fluff aliases. As well as periodic ambient albums on his own Extans Mantra imprint. Which led to sought-after collaborations with Full Circle, Yu Su, S.O.N.S, Marc Pinol, and Benedikt Frey. A household name across the region for over a decade playing spaced-out music in forests, warehouses, and castles.

She has a natural affinity to music. While everyone enjoys music, she responds to music as a vehicle to heal, relax, and to uplift the soul. Naturally perceptive, without even trying she tunes into the feelings of others, and the mood of her surroundings. Her DNA spells electronica. Born In Belgrade, Serbia, as an offspring of a famous music producer, she grew up in a studio. Her whole upbringing shaped her musical perception and refined her taste. In order to promote and redefine an urban party concept, in 2016 she has founded Atipik Agency, a platform that merges contemporary art and music, offering local, upcoming talents an opportunity to showcase their work in a unique framework of events, breaking free from gallery/club stereotypes. Youssef The fresh faced Moroccan has been developing his style fast, always ready to throw down. Traveling through time and space, moods and cultures. He may begin with you in the far East and wrap up with the sounds of Berlin. Charismatic. His ear for intricate beats that move the room has helped vastly as he's been finding himself as a DJ, after offering huge support of the music scene in Vietnam with endeavors such as Sacred hill festival, HANYA NIGHT, and Electric Bazaar, as well as being instrumental in the growth of the collaborative outfit Sacred Sounds.
