After getting to know each other in Zürich in 2008, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer became inseparable, not just as friends, but also as artists. The two men carved out a career as one of the most consistently delivering DJ/producer duos in the house and techno scene: Adriatique. The key to an enduring partnership is, of course, to complement each other, and the two Adrians do so admirably. Music-wise, their various tastes combine into one unique sound, and their respective preference for studio work and performance means that both aspects are equally well covered. Adriatique’s DJ performances as well as their productions are long, meditative, relentlessly building affairs, ever challenging the listener with subtle twists interrupting their hypnotic groove. There is more to the duo than just a well-oiled electronic music machine, however. They also live together, draw plans together, and support art in all its forms together. ~ Official Website

Considering his meteoric rise to fame, it would be easy to stereotype Black Coffee as just another black diamond, a BEE beat magnet out to mine the insatiable upwardly mobile urban house-party market. But as he proved on his South African Music Award-winning album Home Brewed, this DJ and producer defies convention. Sidestepping Afro-house clichés and stage-managed highs in favour of restrained sophistication, Black Coffee’s penchant is for true Afropolitan house: home-brewed but trendsetting, fashion-conscious and future-focused. Expect almost sculptural balance and beauty.

Simon Green aka Bonobo is back with his sixth album – the masterful, magisterial “Migration” – is a record which cements his place in the very highest echelons of electronic music and beyond. By turns lush, manic, beautiful, melancholy, joyful, packed.. Bonobo’s last album, “The North Borders”, went Top 30 in the UK and was number 1 in the electronic charts in both the US and UK. In support, his 12-piece collective (over an 18 month period) played 175 shows across four continents and 30 countries, wowing a total audience of around 2 million people. In fact, Songkick reckoned him to be amongst the most travelled artists on the planet that year. The tour included two sell outs at the Sydney Opera House, an all-day festival at the Roundhouse culminating in a sold out show at Alexandra Palace (10k cap) plus a number of high profile festival slots. Over the course of five albums for the legendary label Ninja Tune, a myriad of tours, singles, remixes and production work for other artists, Bonobo has built a large, loyal and engaged global fanbase: over half a million album sales and over one hundred and fifty million streams on Spotify point to the levels of success achieved by this quiet, self-effacing man. Most recently, Bonobo curated an international series of Outlier events including a sold out all day festival at Tobacco Dock in London and further parties in Berlin, Madrid, Paris and New York. After the epic North Borders tour, Bonobo relocated once again, continuing his gradual move westward by laying down roots in Los Angeles. He had spent almost three years out on the road with no fixed home and on returning to New York, he found it a “noisy, stressful environment” and decided to try the other coast. All this – both the monumental live and DJ tours and his new home in a city full of people from somewhere else – has fed into what makes “Migration” such a special record. Drawing on both a new interest in found-sound and the “euphoric, spiritual moments” he experienced when playing his all-night DJ sets at his Output residency (where many of “Migrations” tracks were road tested) in New York and his Outlier events around the world, Green has placed the unstable, the heartbreaking, the often beautiful migratory life at the core of how he understands humanity, and hence how he understands music. Migration is to him, “The study of people and spaces,” he expands, “It’s interesting how one person will take an influence from one part of the world and move with that influence and effect another part of the world. Over time, the identities of places evolve.” It’s also true that the person will be changed. Green’s newest work is itself a statement of this change and growth.

Claptone is a German DJ and producer duo which specializes in house and tech house genres. They are recognizable by their plague doctor-style golden mask, which serves to intrigue the public as well as keeping their identity hidden. Claptone first surfaced in 2011 with a series of digital singles on Shir Khan's Exploited label. These tracks were generally built around recognizable samples, such as a cover of "Light My Fire" or the haunting melody from Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M." Claptone soon became highly prolific as a remixer, with clients including house producers George Morel and Riva Starr as well as pop groups such as the Pet Shop Boys.

Jamie Jones is a Welsh DJ, producer and two time DJ Awards winner. A modern-day example of a powerhouse in the music industry; as well as his own productions on a multitude of dance labels, he co-founded the globally successful label Hot Creations and launched the conceptual party Paradise, hosting events the world over including an eight-year residency at DC-10 in Ibiza. A highly respected DJ/producer that pioneered a new genre of house music, Jamie has a dedicated fanbase, hard-working ethos, and a solid team behind him that's been there since the beginning; with such a striking presence in the house and techno scene for the last decade, his entry into the Top 100 DJs poll is long overdue. Next year the Paradise Ibiza residency will launch in Amnesia for the first time, with a new theme — ‘An Age Of Love’. The terrace is a dancefloor that holds many nostalgic memories for Jamie, and we’re sure there will be many more moments to come following his legacy at DC-10. ~ DJMag

Nina Kraviz is one of techno’s most iconic DJs. Famous for both her dynamic and varied DJ sets, captivating performances and her acclaimed label трип (Trip), she’s been a techno powerhouse since she launched on the scene in 2009. In 2020, she played a series of live stream events and virtual festivals including an empty Dance Arena at EXIT and even on top of Mount Olympus in Greece. She also collaborated with streaming giants Spotify when she was chosen to be part of their trackID series, providing a regularly updated playlist to the platform that includes tracks from her own label as well as a diverse collection of releases from across multiple genres. That genre-hopping is also evident in her sets, where trance, techno, ambient and hardstyle can all be heard in one swoop, with her inimitable presence in the booth adding to the allure of Kraviz’s sets. As the DJ who played the most sets of any other in 2018, we’re sure she’ll be the first to hit the road again once it’s safe to do so. ~ DJMag
