about
Music collective-turned-apparel imprint Yeti Out bridges east and west with its series of pop-up raves and record releases. The euphoria of late nights and early mornings are transformed into graphic-heavy apparel, artwork, and audio tapes akin to the crew’s resident sets on NTS radio, while it’s label Silk Road Sounds is a reflection of youth movements that shape creative culture in cities that never sleep. Launched during the height of Hypemachine’s digital frenzy era, YETI OUT was founded by Erisen Ali and brothers Arthur and Tom Bray In 2013, Yeti Out moved back to Asia to bridge the Orient with sonic influences gathered through promoting parties in the UK. Now headquartered in Hong Kong, Shanghai via London, Yeti continues to bridge East and West via the introduction of new acts from the US and EU to China and Southeast Asia, while also debuting Asian talent in London and Europe. Yeti Crew, an ever-expanding cohort of 8 - 10 selectors include key members such as Subez Yeti, Fergus Heathcote, Allan Marshall, and others, all of who head subsidiary club series: Mean Gurlz Club, South Canton Soul Train and Yeti Dis:ko alike. Yeti raves blur the line between garage, house, sino grime, Jungle and Dubstep.. With residencies on Hong Kong Community Radio to London's NTS Radio, and monthly showcases at BEAM Bangkok, OIL Shenzhen to Arkham Shanghai, YETI OUT shows no signs of slowing down, and continues to fill the calendar with headlining shows at Sonar to Low End Theory, playing alongside, Flying Lotus, Harvey Sutherland, Nosaj Thing, Aphex Twin to name a few.

  • Arthur Yeti

Arthur Bray is one of the Hong Kong/Shanghai/London-based collective Yeti Out, the 30-year-old has worn plenty of hats – model, DJ, editor… the list goes on. This flexibility is something he’s emphasised for Yeti Out, which started as a party-promoting music collective that has now branched out into everything from art shows, a record label and a creative agency. And of course, more parties. Well-known DJs on the Hong Kong and Shanghai party circuit, Arthur and his twin brother Tom are pushing the envelope for underground music in Asia. They’re helping genres such as grime, garage, Afrobeat, bass music, house and techno gain momentum in a city that’s probably better known for its EDM or pop-filled nightclubs than anything else. Right now, they’re setting their sights on local events such as Sonar and Art Basel in March, while concurrently working on an audiovisual set for their record label, Silk Road Sounds. Get to know Yeti Out here – and make sure to catch one of their crazy parties soon.

  • Yao

Yao, pronounced (yow), marries moods and moments thru music. This multifaceted producer and DJ brings a wide sound and scope to the music he presents. Coming up DJing around the turn of the millennium in the Bay Area, the soul, hip hop, jazz, and electronic music of his record collection soon inspired him to making beats and producing. After releasing his maiden voyage, "Plantain is Public" in 2006 on the record label(Solos Records) that his friends DJ Enso and Roche began, Yao has since voyaged to close and far away lands encountering people and places that inspire him and his art. Original productions as well as remixes for the likes of NY band Lemonade, labelmate Bookworms, Lil Wayne, and Animal Collective draw from his creative vision as well as flashes of impulse. The finish of 2015 saw him release a 5-track EP, entitiled "Coconut Dreams" which was inspired by life & love in HK...
