    Hong Kong-based deep house / minimal / techno DJ Originally just a fan of hip hop and indie rock because of a 4-year stay in the US, Hugo discovered house and techno while working as an event photographer in 2010. The bold and mesmerizing music he heard inside legendary venues Bassment and Yumla / Midnight & Co. piqued his interest in the art of DJing. Now a dedicated DJ with his photography on hiatus, Hugo enjoys playing consistent, well-curated sets to diverse audiences. Arriving at each gig with an external hard drive worth of uncompressed music, there are always the right tunes at Hugo's disposal for the bar session, club night, or even a beach party, regardless of time and mood.

      Social Room is a loft-style, multi-functional flexible 2100 sq. ft. event space in Central, Hong Kong, ideally located next to the Central Escalator. We serve light lunch from M-F and have regular resident DJs playing until late on weekends. From the crew behind Bassment, one of Hong Kong's most beloved spaces for underground music, comes a new concept designed to expand and enhance the underground experience. The Social Room, perched above the Stanley St. market in Central, has two distinct but conjoined areas: a relaxed bar area with seating, harking back to the outdoor terrace at Bassment; and a large dancefloor area with a raised stage and DJ booth. With an improved soundsystem, double the floor space, and a third floor view, we will continue to bring the vibe of Bassment to Hong Kong in a brand new space. In addition to acting as a home for underground DJs and bands, the open space is also available to rent for corporate and private events, pop-up events, and art exhibitions. Lunch is also served during the week from Monday to Friday, 12pm - 3pm, with affordable pasta lunch sets and other goodies.
