    We are happy to announce that Hong Kong-based Techno collective Cipher is periodically going to take over 宀 for a whole new event named Cipher-X, an satelite event of Cipher, held at our sister club Acadana.For the first chapter, Cipher X-I, the crew is going to showcase their best talents: Finsent C, Meta and Dan-Neo.Finsent C is an artist native to Hong Kong, who has seen his sound evolve innumerably since his initial foray into DJing in 2009. Having been a drummer and member of a local band in his formative years, he eventually sought refuge in electronic music; cultivating a sound that can best be described as fluid, and with an emphasis on the hypnotic spectrum of techno. He perceives sets as flowing journeys, which requires time, and an element of patience to achieve.

    • Dan-neo

      As a film critic and scholar, Dan-Neo is a firm believer in storytelling. His DJ sets often bring you ups-and-downs by merging different genres across countries and eras, drawing elements from disco, house, techno, dub-step and more. He can demonstrate an effortlessness of going from hard bangers to soft chill-out tunes, and vice versa. The unique texture of his sound is a result of adopting both minimal and maximal approaches to musical selection and mixing skill. Nonetheless, his musical taste is deeply rooted in those beats and tunes that embrace a cinematic and cosmic tone. Dan-Neo has been honing his skills as a DJ after he joined Acadana - the best kept secret in Hong Kong - back in 2016. Apart from managing parties and events at Acadana, he regularly plays at different bars and clubs across Hong Kong, such as, 宀 Club, Ruby, Oma and Social Room. Dan-Neo's carefully curated selection also brings him to other respected underground venues across the globe, such as, Oil Club in Shenzhen...

      Finsent C is an artist native to Hong Kong, who has seen his sound evolve innumerably since his initial foray into DJing in 2009. Having been a drummer and member of a local band in his formative years, he eventually sought refuge in electronic music; cultivating a sound that can best be described as fluid, and with an emphasis on the hypnotic spectrum of techno. He perceives sets as flowing journeys, which requires time, and an element of patience to achieve. His music project - Cipher, is a metaphor for his musical direction and vision – 'experiencing' parties that verge on the ritualistic, to which point they have been described as otherworldly. Artists both locally and internationally continue to be invited to express their various forms of deep, experimental and meditative sounds.

It has no literal meaning but can be likened to a roof or shelter. This is a place where you can express yourself freely. This place is for dancing. This is a place to learn. This is safe space where you will not be harassed, discriminated, criticised or harmed emotionally or physically. This is a place where all Races, Genders and Sexual identities are welcome. To safeguard this vision, there will be a no-photo policy applied inside the club. 宀 has been imagined by a group of music and audiophile enthusiasts who have chosen a Funktion-One soundsystem in a room carefully engineered by one of the region's leading experts in acoustics.
