about
Guido Balboa started his music journey in Hong Kong, his style is highly influenced by his roots that are based in the country of the Dolce Vita. As he is slowly introducing himself in the Hong Kong scene he is discovering everyday something more about the well known and the forgotten artists of his native country. Born in New York City, currently Hong Kong based by way of Rio de Janeiro, Ani Phoebe aka Phoebe draws from a multicultural and multilingual background in her sets, especially influenced by the sounds produced during the 80s and 90s and new, underground productions from different local scenes. Leaning towards obscure, oddball and cosmic synth sounds, she plays across a range from downtempo 80s records to underground techno. She made her festival debut at Atlas Electronic Festival and regularly contributes sets for The Lot Radio. Ani co-founded minasö, a feminist collective of female DJs and musicians in Rio de Janeiro, which also serves to create DJ workshops and practice time. Ani is also a writer, journalist and editor. Drawing from a background studying feminist social movements and the role and leadership of young feminists, her work has examined collective, decentralized and popular resistance. Her writing has been published in The Guardian, VICE, Open Democracy, Teen Vogue and more.
