    Deep from the jungle of Brazil, near the seaside town of Praia Brava reigns one of the world’s most infamous & amazing clubs…. WARUNG Beach Club.
    Loved in the hearts by every Brazilian around the globe & known as the cream of the crop of Brazilian Clubs, Warung for the first time in history will be making it’s way across the seas to Australia to present for one night only WARUNG CLUB SYDNEY!!!
    Two of Warungs most prolific & long standing residents will be making the journey over to Sydney for the event & will also double as their debut Australian performances – Abuquerque & Leoz!
    A third headliner & newly appointed bi-monthly resident of Warung will also be joining us, flying in direct from Barcelona & good friend of S.A.S.H – Rick Maia.
    We’ve also enlisted our most highly regarded Brazilian locals here in Sydney on support to play in room 2, no doubt they will be bringing their Brazilian vibes for the night for us all.
    Venue - ARQ Sydney
    A venue typically used by the LGBT community, we’ve gained special permission to use this super club for this very special event.
    This 2 level, 2 room super club is spectacular in every way, with the huge main room boasting a wrap around balcony overlooking the main dancefloor – mad!
    The venue will be transformed on the night to make you feel more at home, we’ll keep this a surprise for the moment but think jungle, lush green, bamboo….
    Sound – For this event we will be bringing our favourite purple boxes & lots of them at that!
    We’ll be filling up both rooms with Funktion-One (Official) sound, you may expect sonic bliss everywhere you turn.
    Join us on the momentous occasion for the first ever Warung Sydney in a space we don’t usually get to play in!!

      Rick Maia

      Rick Maia is a DJ with extraordinary technical ability and a producer with music making waves with many other artists on the scene. He has the passion, intelligence and a understanding of the dance music environment which makes him a truly exciting prospect. Recent highlights include DJ shows at Space in Ibiza and festival sets including Creamfields UK, South American Music Conference in Argentina, Dimensions Festivals in Croatia and Exit in Serbia where he has featured alongside a diverse range of acts from Kevin Saunderson to Subb-An and Kenny Larkin during 2013. This has been a pivotal year in his career culminating with his residency for FACT Worldwide events combined with a relocation from London which has been his home for the past five years to Barcelona, which is a European hot bed of both established and emerging musical talent.
