ANKR’s latest event at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park on Sunday, the second party held by the group to date there, was an event that impressed with its scale. Booths were set up for vendors selling food and merchandise, while an array of lights transformed the atmosphere of the garden area where the event took place.

Before the event, an exhibition was also held at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. The exhibition showed some of ANKR’s past live sessions, spotlighting Taiwan-based artists performing in outdoor settings that demonstrate Taiwan’s natural beauty. The exhibition drew high-profile visitors including Premier Su Tseng-chang. Facemasks with images of nature were handed out to attendees.

The Sunday event, termed the “Garden Mingle”, featured both DJs and live acts. This included DJ sets by Tek, Vice City, and Sonia Calico. Live sets consisted of performances by A.P.R.A, Lemonfacer, and B E N N. The events started in the afternoon at 3 PM and went until night at 9 PM, with what was overall a relaxed atmosphere, drawing members of the party scene as well as the general public as a perfect close to the weekend. Screens were set up throughout the venue, along with laser projection.

Garden Mingle was a return to form for ANKR, with electronic music events in Taiwan having been canceled and clubs closed for six months due to a COVID-19 outbreak that began in May. Though Taiwan had been COVID-free for well over a year, the outbreak was Taiwan’s first major brush with the pandemic, leading plans by ANKR to hold an outdoor beach party to be put on hold. However, with the pandemic situation stable, parties have again begun to take place.
