When it comes to the Korean underground music scene, it’s all about funk, ska, soul and a side of psychedelia. Pushing through these genre-breaking boundaries is the foundation of South Korea’s new bass rave culture.

Up next as our second guest DJ for Electric Soul Radio is grime-dubstep queen J’Laurel, hailing from the underbelly of Seoul.

Heading up the OOZZEE SOUND Crew as the director, J’Laurel is spearheading the bass rave revolution in Seoul underground music scene. Her style can be described as a delectable mix of Dubstep, Grime, Breaks, Halftime, and Jungle Music. Having spent five years together with the YCOC crew, J’Laurel is familiar with the underground DJ scene and parties where music and arts blends together.

When not behind the decks, J’Laurel flexes her creative muscles through pottery to create ceramic works of art. The creative entrepreneur also runs a side hustle where she creates potted arrangements and gardening materials, fitting right in with her whole jungle vibe where you feel one with nature.

The mix today is a calming one that borderlines on trance-y with its groovy breaks and hypnotic beats. Gradually working her way from eclectic to dreamy synths before going deep and dark, feel the music deep within your soul with this one.
