Growing up in New York City, DJ Tynee ( Real name Elaine Shin ) had a strong passion for electronic music that became apparent by age 7; the year she became a proud owner of her first Ghetto Blaster. From that moment on, a lifelong love affair ignited, as she paired music with everything she did. Submerging herself in music earned her an abundance of music knowledge. From Miami Freestyle to the UK New Romantic sound, soulful House to the origins of Electro Breakbeat, she was constantly seeking the world for fascinating new music. DJ Tynee’s obsession with music and all its meticulous details were perhaps a sign of things to come.

Returning to Hong Kong, she was overwhelmed by the underground U.K. Progressive and Breakbeat club movement taking place at the time. This was a time when DJ heavyweights like Sasha and John Digweed first surfaced in Hong Kong.
