Record Label Ninja Tune takes on sustainability in an unexpected collab with AIAIAI for a custom made headphones made out of recycled vinyl!

The TMA-2 Headphones boast the latest sound system from AIAIAI with their Bio-Cellulose S05 drivers, and can provide up to 20 hours of high quality wireless audio via Bluetooth 5.0. Choose from both on-ear and over-ear vegan leather cushions, with a hardy headphones system that is designed to last for a functional lifetime to result in less waste for the planet.

The idea of recycled vinyl isn’t new, but it usually involves repressing old records into new vinyl records. With the TMA-2, the old blends into the new. The speaker unit itself is also made from recycled Ninja Tune vinyl as part of the label’s experimentation into reducing their waste impact.

Ninja Tune’s Senior Designer Joe Durnan said: "For Ninja Tune as a label, we are keen to not only celebrate the past but also mark our intentions going forward both sonically and ethically. We are keenly aware of the need to explore more ecological and earth positive means of manufacturing. To continue to exist as an industry we need to place these topics at the forefront of discussions and decisions.”

The limited edition TMA-2 headphones are now available online.
