about
Female, funky and Eurasian: if anybody embodies the future of music in the 21st century, it’s Hong Kong-born, internationally renowned producer, label boss, composer, photographer’s muse and DJ, Janette Slack.

Taking Asia’s dance music scene to the next level with her high-heeled sonic canvases that mix everything from sensual house and progressive, to electro- and ghetto funk, spiced with swing mash-ups, and overlaid with lavish rock riffs, cinematic stabs and soaring a cappella vocals.

The first female winner of London’s prestigious Denon DJousts competition, she has also won Pink Armada European Female DJ competition, beating out a field of 200. Celebrity collaborations have meanwhile come thick and fast, among them with D. Ramirez, the Preset Warriors, Javone Prince, Kickflip, Fabian, Some DJ and MC Tuhin Chisti. Slack has also appeared on Sky 1’s Gadget Geeks show, test-driving DJ equipment; on BBC 1’s Secret Service; and in Richard Curtis’ latest film, About Time.
