Crossing borders is a familiar experience to David Mayer. Though being born in south Germany, he spent most of his youth living in Norway and (for a change) in Lanzarote, before Berlin happened to become his home in 2004... As he prefers thinking outside the box, Mayer has always been equally interested in experimenting with diverse forms of music, no matter what musical genre they derive from, although his passion for funked up and heavily pounding 4/4 beats clearly dominates his creative output. Both when spinning records and producing tracks, he is presenting his own interpretation of catchyness, mixing up Techno and House, adding a little deepness, but always keeping an eye on making his audience shake some. His dedication has found its way in several musical excursions on labels like Connected Frontline, Ouïe, Objektivity, Gruuv, Audiomatique and Keinemusik and accounts for pieces like the "Drained" EP and the remix of "Lust" by Tigesrkin & K.E.E.N.E. feat. With an extended discography of over 200 tracks across dozens of labels, Enzo scored a n.1 House track “Sometimes” on Defected in 2015 as well as receiving worldwide support and appreciation including a WMC nomination. His “She Babao” anthem has gathered over 10 million plays online and countless features on documentaries, TV programs and series across the globe as well as being the soundtrack for the 2022 Adidas promo campaign. SHIMZA - BIOGRAPHY Unquestionably one of South Africa's brightest talents, Shimza real name Ashley Raphala (29) has made the transition from aspirant industry young blood to leading light of the global afro house scene at almost breakneck speed. The Tembisa-born DJ, producer and promoter’s musical skills can be traced as far back as the age of fifteen, fuelled by the support and encouragement from his family. And his resultant rise to fame is littered with accomplishments too numerous to list but include winning a string of high profile DJ competitions to single handedly hosting his One Man Show event brand - a large scale outdoor party held every Christmas Day to raise funds for under privileged children. A philanthropic focused initiative started in 2009, Shimza’s One Man Show sponsors school uniforms and stationary for school kids from his hometown of Tembisa whilst also driving job creation. Over the years, the event has showcased some of South Africa’s hottest artists including AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick, Black Coffee, Mi Casa, Black Motion and many more.
