A pilot concert for Mallorca Live Summer 2021 with Catalan group Sidonie is set to take place on June 25 in the Old Aquapark of Calvià, Spain. The event will facilitate the use of Digital Covid Certificate (‘Certificado Digital Covid’ in Spanish), where attendees are required to present their certificate in order to access the concert’s venue. This is after Spain had announced that it would join the EU COVID-19 certificate trials from June 7.

The certificate will prove the holder has been vaccinated against the virus, has recovered from the illness and has a period of immunity from its reinfection, or has taken the negative antigen tests within 48 hours, or a negative PCR within 72 hours before the concert. This is to ensure that appropriate sanitary conditions are fulfilled to guarantee the safety of the event.

In line with regulations issued by the government, the event will only be open to a maximum of 5,000 people. Attendees will also be required to wear face masks at all times despite not needing to follow social distancing measures for the event.

The consumption of beverages will only be allowed in a seated bar that is separate from the concert area within the Old Aquapark venue.

This follows after another 5,000-person event that was held in Barcelona on March 27 reporting zero infections by researchers. The event was a part of a series of pilot events that aimed to test the effectiveness of rapid coronavirus testing as a way to prevent infections at large events.
