Whilst the clubs have re-opened in Vietnam and then shut again, freshly announced festivals and events have also been constantly announced and then postponed again in light of COVID restrictions. Hanoi dance mecca Savage has broken their silence with the teaser of yet another festival.

The first of its series, (Re)Treat, will bring punters to the North of Vietnam for a musical escape over the Easter weekend from 2 to 4 April. The rager will take place in a town three hours away from Hanoi called Mai Chau nestled in between two towering cliffs and rice paddy fields, where festival goers are able to experience music, nature and people together. The festival will have two dancefloors – party in the sun amongst the lush green fields during the day at Mai Chau lodge, then retreat into the depths of the Mo Luong cave as night falls.

Fans of Ouissam will recognise the cave from his latest livestream rendezvous with Phởq Sessions, giving attendees a little trippy taste of what’s to come. On why he chose the location, Savage shares that the “Mo Luong Cave is a natural cave in limestone blocks with magnificent stalactites. The cave is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by majestic mountains and poetic streams. With a ceiling dome that retains an average height of ten metres, the cave makes a perfect acoustic environment for sound, and a perfect stage for our Savage presents (Re)treat.”

Headlining the event is of course Savage’s founder, Ouissam, alongside the club’s other residents Di Linh, Miya, Rifain, Zwi, and Khoi Mai. Over the weekend, they will be joined by other DJs and friends like Barke, Dane, Dusan, Friend, Janko, HUMB, Marco Yanes, Much Love (Hilda X Tobes X Ouissam), Nayla, Njuns, TrinhNu, Tok, Teodora Van Context, Techa, Useph, and Wat De Phoq.

Pre-sale tickets start from 300,000VND until 25 March, and normal tickets start at 500,000VND, and can be bought online or at Pond Records and Coffee Shop. For those lucky enough to be able to make it to the North of Vietnam, we’re keeping our optimism high for you to dance in our stead!

In other news, Savage has also teased of the return of Equation in 2022 and the re-opening of their club doors after the sudden closure due to the spike of cases in February.
