Bonner is the pioneering force behind the infamous LGBTQ+ party Shoot Your Shot - a party which has helped champion leftfield dance and electronic music in Glasgow. The parties are joyous, captivating affairs which always leave revellers with a story or two to tell. Smoky rooms, dimly lit, become the backdrop to a whirlwind extravaganza as Bonner commands dancers through the night with long free flowing mixing. Euphoric highs are paired alongside delicate poignant selections reminiscent of the collective escapism and abandonment they seek to find for themselves upon the dance floor. None of this has come without hard work. Still in the early stages of her DJ career, Brina Knauss is an accomplished music selector, whose scintillating sets have catapulted her into the limelight.

̸BIOGRAPHY Larry McCarthy creates postmodern rhythmic drama at the burning intersection of UK dance music. Bruce's music operates at all speeds without any predictable formula. Some tracks stutter and thump with cybernetic power; others flutter and glide in poignant shades of blurring colour. It’s a fragmented, low-frequency meltdown, evocative shimmers of light emanating from the cracks. Sometimes what you're listening to is suddenly scraped off and wiped away, leaving only silence as you blink in disbelief. With a deep understanding of tension and release - essential for thrills and head-spins - McCarthy has been a fundamental force in the continuing output of the pioneering label collective Hessle Audio since his 2014 debut. Since its inception, McCarthy has been also a close affiliate of the Timedance label, where he’s continued to expand his sound, along with Livity Sound and Hemlock. McCarthy’s hyperactive and surreal humour allows him to recreate the process of converting experimental abstraction into exhilarating energy when he’s performing as a DJ. His nuanced dancefloor approach has already taken him on tour as far as Japan. He further explores his own marriage of heartfelt music and daft humour via his monthly Noods Radio show, ‘Get Loose! Italian born Budino is one of these DJs, hers is a constant quest for fresh material to weave in her sets – sets that exist in clubbers minds as glorious psychedelic tapestries sewn from dark trance-inducing beats, tribal percussion and rich cosmic textures. Given this dedication and dexterity it’s unsurprising that praise is heaped so readily on Budino’s sets. After moving to Berlin and playing throughout the city since the age of eighteen, she was soon co-running the party series Oscillator at the now defunct and much lamented iconic club Griessmühle, along with its sister vinyl only label. She soon became a mainstay behind the decks at the infamous institution of queer hedonism that is Cocktail d’Amore and has since held a residency there for many years. With a diligence to seek out the perfect music for every moment, Budino has spent many years honing her craft creating unique edits that breathe versatility into the music she has dug deep to find. This often means when you hear her play, it may well be the only moment ever in which will you ever hear that version. However, a handful of these edits have seen the light of day on New York vinyl label JustWhatTheWorldNeeds. Budino has also been responsible for curating the fourth edition of Love International festival’s compilation series ‘The Sound of Love International’’. It reflects her interpretation of the ideal soundtrack for an endless and idyllic day into the night on the beaches of Tisno on the Adriatic coast, nodding to her comprehensive taste as a selector. With her enthusiasm, devotion and impeccable ear for music, Budino continues to go from strength to strength as a DJ and has plenty more of her passion to share with dance floors around the world.

Since then she has been intimately involved in the experimental music scene having performed at CTM festival in January of 2021. Serendipity found Enyang in Berlin and it was this city that transformed her passion for music and took her on a new path, one which would expose her to some of the most cutting edge artists of the world. Having worked intimately with the releases of some of the most experimental artists of our time, Enyang’s own musical sensibility and need for experimentation aligns closely with the roster of her impressive clientele. Crossing to Manhattan for school, the tempo changed entirely as rock, hip hop and experimental music filled Kwarteng’s ears while she studied intensely. Her academic focus was paramount, but Kwarteng couldn’t help but drift back towards the beat. First, from sciences to arts, where, at an esteemed upstate New York university, her dedication to trawling music blogs rendered Kwarteng the de facto DJ for house parties. She also began broadcasting on college radio; her daybreak show was a particular hit with professors arriving to work early to mark before lectures. Bouncing back to New York, Kwarteng continued to present a show on the burgeoning online radio station The Lot. In 2017, she was presented with the Mixcloud Online Radio Award for Best Eclectic Show, an early and completely unexpected acknowledgement of an instinct for music that traversed genre expectations. In parallel, Kwarteng played each and every Saturday night in the majestic ballroom of the SoHo Grand, amassing vinyl for a residency that helped define the uptown musical scene with her own downtown sensibilities. Now based in Europe, Kwarteng continues to criss-cross not only genres, but continents. Overcoming her inherent introversion to nervously approach Giles Peterson at a record store in Paris proved fortuitous; so impressed was the storied DJ by Kwarteng’s show on local station Le Mellotron, he invited her to appear at his own festival, Worldwide. Appearances at suitably open-minded spaces in Madrid, London, Bristol, Copenhagen and Kyiv soon followed. Wherever she performs, Kwarteng’s expertise serves to not only continue the championing of Black American genres such as house, techno and disco, but equally, to explore the continuum of global dance music as a whole. As many kids who have grown up in the early 90s in the South West of Germany, Gerd Janson was a regular guest at Mannheim’s legendary Milk Club. Although this venue was most popular for putting jungle on the map in Germany, Gerd always used to wait eagerly for the early morning hours when the pace slowed down and US styled house was the ruling sound. In the following years, his deep love for house and disco music was fed in Frankfurt’s Wild Pitch Club by Heiko MSO and Ata. In 1998, Gerd Janson finally had his first DJ residency at Darmstadt’s Café Kesselhaus.

GiGi associates textures and colours to sounds within the music, giving her a unique approach to collecting, selecting, playing and making music and affording a natural ability to create atmospheres and ambience unlike many others. Grace Dahl is a Techno DJ and producer from Amsterdam with a mixed heritage of Finnish and Hungarian descent. The Vault Sessions resident plays a refined selection of styles, with a focus on hypnotic yet powerful Techno that showcases dominant percussion and draws inspiration from both old school and hard groove influences. Her deep-rooted love and passion for music can be traced back to her parents, who organised electronic music events in Budapest during the 90s. Influenced by her parents' musically driven upbringing, she ambitiously embarked on her career when she was a mere 18 years young. Fast forward to present day, Grace is currently at the forefront of the thriving scene in The Netherlands and is swiftly accelerating within international circuit. She has been showcasing her craft at various renowned events around Europe with a jam packed 2023 schedule, playing at the likes of Awakenings, Vault Sessions, FUSE, Sziget Festival, RSO, Rotterdam Rave, Soenda Festival, Intercell and By the Creek, among others. Gramrcy is a British-born DJ and producer currently living in Berlin. His productions draw elements from the UK’s rich rave history while pushing a resolutely forward-facing sound. EPs on cult UK labels Ancient Monarchy and FTD established a restless, anything-goes approach to music-making, while a recent collaboration with Hodge on the Singapore-based label Midnight Shift displayed a tougher and more upfront side. DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann is recognised as one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno. Widely associated with iconic trademarks including Berlin, Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of electronic music, integrating art with the scene. Raised in the former GDR, in a small town near Berlin, Dettmann had already begun to develop his passion for electronic music in his youth. Bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Front 242, as well as post-punk and industrial, count as his earliest influences, long before he discovered his affinity for techno. His hometown lacked a record store specialising in electronic music, so between 1995 and 1998 Dettmann began selling vinyl from his own home. He purchased records from various distributers, Hard Wax amongst others, both to resell to his friends and to cement the foundation for his own considerable collection. Like many of his friends, the mid-nineties saw Dettmann frequenting Berlin’s nightlife. This included club institutions E-Werk and Tresor where the resident DJs of that time aroused his passion for the Chicago and Detroit influenced sound. In 1999, after many (including self-organised) parties, his turning point came; Dettmann began to work as a resident DJ at Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor. Shortly thereafter upon receiving a job offer from Hard Wax, he finally moved to Berlin. His apprenticeship as a vinyl buyer and seller as well as DJ, granted him an extensive depth of musical knowledge and intuition. Dettmann quests tirelessly for new ways and inspiration to further develop his own concept of electronic music. His label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records) serves as a platform upon which to shape his musical vision, and through its releases, to launch new talent onto the techno scene. Palms Trax is a producer and Dj based in Berlin, Germany. His first record was released in October of 2013 on London-based imprint Lobster Theremin. For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier. You know the one; curious yet naive son of the English Riviera lands a job at one of London’s leading record stores and discovers the masters of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Later, stumbling around Berlin, his primitive attempts to emulate the sound of his newfound heroes accidentally land him a bona fide dance floor hit. A gradual but steady stream of EPs courtesy of Dutch dance music powerhouse Dekmantel have allowed his productions to blossom in richer, smoother directions. On 2015’s ‘In Gold’ EP, and throughout the following year’s ‘High Point on Low Ground’, halcyon hallmarks of house - euphoric piano lines, bubbling acid and luminescent keys - are shot through with Donaldson’s tough, distinctive percussion. Pushing the London sound and the contemporary productions from his peers, DEEZ always turns up with a bag full of tricks and a story to tell. Picking up the USB stick and blowing sentimental moments off forgotten wax, DEEZ toured the Dutch radio stations like a bat out of hell and reclaimed a space at the table with his refreshing curation. Playing a set pretty much every week during a pandemic made DEEZ hard to miss while we were all sat at home reminiscing our beloved club scene. Even though reality shows have been trying to prove otherwise, a successful career as a musician, even as a pop star, cannot be forced with a pre-packaged crash course. As of 2010, Paul Kalkbrenner has tallied up more than 15 years of experience as a producer and live act, all the while learning what it means to go purposefully from one step to the next. When the Berlin Wall fell, he was 12. The soundtrack of his youth, and of the majority of his generation, was still in its infancy, awaiting its breakthrough: techno music.,The fall of the wall meant reunification, but above all, a sense of no holds barred. The eastern part of the city became the anarchic, creative playground for a euphoric youth, now freed from bureaucracy. The early 90s were formative years for a young Paul Kalkbrenner as well. Eventually, in one of many long and sleepless nights on the dancefloors of E-Werk, Planet and Whale, the dream was born to make music himself, and anything less important would be put aside. A job as TV editor got him through the mid-90s and financed his first music gear. By this point Paul had already decided that he did not want to be a typical DJ playing other people’s records, but rather to play only his own music, live in a club setting. His first tracks were released in 1999 on Berlin-based BPitch Control (the newly founded label from Ellen Allien) as the Friedrichshain EP, titled after his home district in the city’s east. A series of further singles and two full-lengths (Superimpose and Time) followed, plus continuous live performances that threatened to shatter the grid of his calendar.,Together with Paul Kalkbrenner, BPitch Control gained a strong momentum. Interviews in respected German magazines like Spex and De:Bug paved the way for regular international bookings. The Lufthansa fetishist had now become a frequent flyer. Paul’s third album Self (2004) would mark the beginning of a new era. His melodic sound, with its affinity for grand emotional gestures, obeyed the logic of the dancefloor, but Self introduced a narrative aesthetic, serving as a soundtrack to a film that didn’t exist (at least, not yet…). It was Paul’s most musical and mature album to date, although still taking cues from the dancefloor and rave culture, offering a first glimpse of what was yet to come. "Gebrünn Gebrünn”, released one year later, became a crossover hit found in every DJ’s record bag and finally cemented Paul’s status as a Techno MVP.,In early 2006, German director Hannes Stöhr, an avid fan of Self, decided to get in contact with Kalkbrenner. His idea was to produce a film about a musician in Techno City during the new millennium, and Paul would compose the soundtrack. The two met, traded ideas and experiences, and soon after began working on the screenplay’s first draft. In the course of their exchange, Hannes had the realization that Paul should not just contribute the music, but that he would be the perfect choice as the film’s star. Without hesitation, Paul accepted the offer. They decided to title the film Berlin Calling. For the soundtrack’s production, Paul and his friend (and BPitch colleague) Sascha Funke spent half a year in Cézanne’s hometown of Aix-En-Provence in southern France.,Unencumbered by the cold, gray Berlin winter, Paul devoted himself entirely to the musical aspect of the project. One song already had a title: “Sky and Sand” with vocals by Paul’s brother Fritz. Upon Paul’s return to Berlin in 2007, the filming began, and the finished work was brought to German theaters in October 2008. Berlin Calling and Paul’s debut acting performance received positive reviews, and the film, thanks to its authentic depiction of the Berlin club scene and drug culture, became, slowly but surely, a cult classic.,The soundtrack and especially the single “Sky and Sand” broke all sales records. That track in particular went gold in Belgium where it remained in the charts’ Top Ten for weeks. The 2009 DVD release of the film brought Paul to a new, much larger audience around the world. EP; subsequent releases on the label include Winter Ceremony (2007), Natural Gun (2007), and Summer Ceremony (2007). Also in 2007 he released 12? Drawing on her early love for brooding New Wave and Post-Punk, she became Perel, an electronic producer, vocalist and DJ who spent much of the 2010s shaping her sound – and to just praise. As well as being the first German artist to sign to James Murphy’s seminal dance-punk label DFA Records, Perel has performed internationally as a live act and DJ, from the floors of throbbing techno clubs to major city festivals. Growing up in the East German state of Saxony, she learned how to write and produce songs, inspired by Apex Twin, Kraftwerk and The Cure, among others. Later drawn to Berlin and its underground club scene, she took on the persona of Perel, writing, producing and singing on solo material for labels like Running Back, Uncanny Valley, Kompakt and Permanent Vacation. In an ever-evolving club scene with myriad faces, Perel stood out by singing over her DJ sets, bridging the mood of her own live sound with her selections. Perel drifted into the orbit of the heads of DFA Records, who released her debut solo album Hermetica in the spring of 2018. Like most figures of the Birmingham techno scene, her tracks are often hard, dark, and minimalist, with heavy pounding beats and gradual suspenseful development. An avid clubgoer since her youth, she began spinning records in 1996, at the age of 16. She spent several years as a model in order to provide financial support for her DJ career. She released an edit of the Mighty Dub Katz's house anthem "It's Just Another Groove" in 2004, but her first original productions, starting with 2007's "Toad in a Hole," were minimal tech-house. Richie Hawtin played an essential role in developing the sound of minimal techno, as well as spreading its popularity throughout the global club scene. While most of the electronic music follows a clear and often monotonic pattern, you never know what you will get from Roe Deers. Liudas tend to step out of what is commonly acknowledged as a standard formula of success, but it doesn’t make him distant from his audience. Roe Deers employ all shades of love in his shows so that the only response you can give him is dance.

Russell has painstakingly cultivated a unique artistic expression that integrates and investigates themes around process, technological innovation, the archive, and decolonization. Their works have taken the form of vinyl records, digital audio releases, live A/V performances, and special archiving projects. Russell’s work has been featured in publications like the New Yorker, Resident Advisor, the East Bay Express, New York Dance Music zine Love Injection, and Bermuda’s national paper, The Royal Gazette. Their dynamic performances have helped them keep a busy tour scheduled, traveling as far and wide as Ukraine, France, Portugal, and the Netherlands to name a few. Through their work with modular synthesizers, Russell has been awarded grants and positions as a featured artist. In 2016, Russell began working with the Synthesizer Library in Portland, Oregon as an artist in residence. There they recorded, performed and held workshops for students. As an extension of this work, Russell’s expertise as an electronic musician was documented in the book Patch & Tweak by Kim Bjørn. This is an educational book about the development and implementation of modular synthesizers. In it Russell shares the intersections of their experiences as a Black, Queer, Trans immigrant in America and how that has informed their process as a musician. In 2019, Russell was awarded the Traveling Scholars Fellowship from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts to continue their work with modular synthesizers at the Synthesizer Library’s Prague, Czech Republic location. They would utilize this time to create over 30 compositions, some of which have been featured on NYC label Mr. Saturday Night and pioneering Berlin techno outfit, Tresor. Most recently, in 2021, Russell has worked as a featured artist, digitally archiving records from the collection of House Music pioneer, Frankie Knuckles, as part an installation created by Theaster Gates in a group show curated by renowned writer and curator, Antwan Sargent, titled “Social Works”. They have also featured on a digital and vinyl compilation celebrating the 30th anniversary of pioneering Techno organization, Tresor. Russell also works professionally as a recording, mix, and mastering engineer, an educator, and a consultant for special audio projects and films. ̸BIOGRAPHY Amsterdam based dj Between the binaries of darker moods and bliss energies - Sarkawt Hamad's sound is unmistakable. Grown up in the Netherlands, the Erbil born- Amsterdam based artist finds inspiration in all sorts of elements: from fascination for rock music, to dreamy pop and her roots. Firmly entrenched in the Dutch underground scene, she translates this experience into a melodic flow behind the decks. Diverse in sources, her sets ebb effortlessly between genre - from breaks, to leftliefd techno and house, all connected through a contagious energy. Sarkawt creates a space in which euphoria, more pensive states and deep soft noise can coexist.

Scalping are a Bristol based live techno band. Blistering performances are known for astute production formed through a love their hometown’s visionary off-the-wall dance music as well as full throttle noise and punk. Starting in 2017, the band played live for two years, almost exclusively in Bristol, before releasing any music. Through their time in other bands, they hooked up with promoters they trusted and focused on doing fewer shows with better results. After a couple of years, Nick Berthoud was brought in, on guitar; a “fan first, member second” who was impressed by the developing live show and attuned to their conceptual frustration. “As a live band, your entire output is dependent on your equipment, but guitar music is historically always so far behind electronic music, and how that technology and the language around it can change the music itself”, says Rushforth. “The ideas that people try to push with guitar band technology are naturally limited. We’re taking elements of guitar culture, like distortion and smearing, and inserting them into the technology and language of electronic music. We’d seen bands try to do this before, but it always felt too ‘arty’, happy, or unstructured. We wanted to do it but make it heavy, and create focused, structured songs.” By sourcing band-centred equipment that pushes boundaries, they incorporate bass-amplifying techno elements into their repertoire. Rushforth’s bass guitar set-up comes with two octave pedals, subharmonic generators and two amps – “effectively bringing a soundsystem around with us” – to play basslines “one or two octaves lower” than a bass guitar traditionally can. Berthoud’s guitar is sidechained from Jones’s kick drum; “which everyone’s done in the studio for decades, but we found it difficult to find a single guitar pedal that would allow us to do it at gigs”, Berthoud says. Their curiosity and resourcefulness has paid off. Since forming, SCALPING have performed across the UK and Europe, at festivals such as Glastonbury, Visions, Green Man, Simple Things, Pitchfork Festival and End of the Road, and as support for Black Midi and Squarepusher. Live, the effect is immense. SCALPING play continuously for the duration of their sets, generating a storm of metal- and-techno through a rising beats-per-minute count; starting between 80-90bpm, ticking gradually up to 140bpm – and then, for maximum dynamic impact, dropping to 70bpm and playing in half-time. In the heat and darkness, it’s a swarm of low-end frequencies and ripping guitars, somewhere between Black Sabbath-esque psychedelica and The Bug’s sub-bass headfuckery. “Within each section of each song, we can push and pull it,” says Hill. “We have a setlist, and once we start playing we don’t stop…. we move through the various songs and tempos fairly seamlessly, and try to emulate the feel of watching a DJ.” As the coronavirus pandemic stopped SCALPING from playing together for over two years, their songwriting was transformed into a series of retro-fitting techniques that would leave most bands lost in an organisational fog. Their debut album, “Void”, out on Houndstooth this April, necessarily became a mammoth undertaking. “We wrote this whole album without playing a single note of it together,” says Hill. “We produced all of the songs using the computer – as a blend of recordings and samples of our live drums, guitars and drum machines into production software – and then translated it all back into a live performance. And although there are structured songs on the record, there’s no explicit focus on exactly recreating those songs live, either,” he continues. “Everything is adapted to work into a set that flows well. A lot of album parts are rewritten during rehearsals for the good of the live set as a whole.” On “Void”, SCALPING are heavy metal in 4D; the sound is moody, distorted and rhythmic, but the use of electronic techniques gives the finer details room to breathe. Their early lust for “all loudness, no nuance” has cooled, too, making more space for experimentation. Tracks such as “Tether”, featuring Oakland rapper DÆMON, puts a modern, metal twist on Bristolian trip-hop, whereas album closer “Remain in Stasis” features fast-rising artist Grove, a Bristol-based rapper and self- professed metalhead whose commanding presence sets the track alight. With several tracks to his name all made in the space of the last twelve months 2004 has been a massive year for Nick aka Sub Focus: the year has seen him breakthrough in unprecedented fashion armed with the likes of the technically astounding “Acid Test”, the simple yet devastatingly effective “Strobe”, the lively “Get on Up” and the altoghether awesome “X-Ray”. In a matter of months, he has gone from being one of many wannabe producers to become a permanent fixture of the award winning Ram Records family. Artists like Sub Focus are what “Best Breakthrough Producer” awards are made for.,Even though Nick has been obsessed with dance music, both its creation and its culture for a large chunk of his formative years, his first experience with making music came from playing bass in a rock band at school. However his involvement with the band didn’t last very long as on hearing dance music Nick was totally blown away by it’s diversity and the variety of sounds on offer. Consequently he decided that the tone of rock music didn’t satisfy as he felt it to be far too limited, in contrast Nick found the unlimited tonal possibilities of dance music to be extremely exciting. Particular music that got him hooked included; General Levy’s “Incredible” and most things from Prodigy’s early years.,Nick actually started making beats at the tender age of thirteen on an old Acorn computer, although to begin with he was just messing around he quickly found his passion and this light hearted hobby gradually became an obsession. It’s important to note that until recently Nick has been entirely self taught, his only aid coming from a whole host of software instruction manuals which he enjoyed reading from cover to cover.,Things didn’t really start to happen for him until last year when he made a conscious decision to take his production process extremely seriously. Nick enrolled in a renowned sound engineering course in London’s East End, where he found himself polishing up his self taught skills, whilst also going deeper into the realms of truly understanding the concept of sound.,Eventually Nick managed to make a few things that he felt proud of so he began to give out some CDs for his friends to listen to, only looking for a bit of feedback. However, a certain friend decided to take one of these “Don’t Play Them to Anyone Else” CDs and give one to award winning DJ and Ram Record’s label owner Andy C. On hearing the tracks Andy not only saw talent but he saw a release, within hours Nick had the phone call and within weeks Nick had his first release on Ram’s much respected sister imprint Frequency: a 12" featuring “Down the Drain” with “Hotline” on the flip.,With this new found confidence in mind; in recent months Nick went in the studio and rolled out three brilliant bits of production in quick succession. To Nick’s delight all of them got the stamp of approval; “Acid Test” and “Get On Up” will act as his follow up release on Frequency whilst his brilliant “Strobe” is to be included on Chapter Six of the Ram Raiders series on Ram Records. All the above tracks have been really well received by the scene’s top flight DJs but to Nick’s surprise press and radio have been in support too; they’ve all received regular airplay on both Grooverider’s BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass show and Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 prime time specialist show.,All that remains to be said is remember the name and watch this space.

Which led to sought-after collaborations with Full Circle, Yu Su, S.O.N.S, Marc Pinol, and Benedikt Frey. A household name across the region for over a decade playing spaced-out music in forests, warehouses, and castles.

After his long-time residency night “Vicious Circle”, formerly based in the once notorious Bob Beaman club, he and his colleagues decided to explore new territory with Blitz Music Club, where he holds a residency in, without any doubt, one of the most ambitious clubs in Europe. After moving to Vienna, Leo hesitantly got involved in the local scene. But becoming part of the Lighthouse Festival family (former crew of renowned club Pratersauna) definitely set the ball rolling for him. As one of the residents of Leipzig’s Distillery since 2012, he happily gets to share his passion for dance music regularly. Next to this he also runs the Leipzig based label Unitas Multiplex. The vibes during his DJ-sets are often described as energetic, fast, enthusiastic and sometimes even relentless, without ever sacrificing taste or quality. Vladas Dieninis is a drummer, percussionist and multidisciplinary artist working in the fields of sound art, theater, dance and cinema productions. The most recent solo output from Vladas balances his talent to combine electronic percussionist techniques with multilayered soundscapes. His performances are improvisatory rituals where hazy ambience meets oriental rhythmic ornaments. The hypnotic effect of motorik patterns here intertwines with free-floating soundscapes with delay effects. The minimalist means here are employed for a maximalist as sometimes you get overwhelmed by the vast array of sound coming from just one person on stage.

Amsterdam based DJ and producer that also runs his Safe Trip label. There was a time when Marco Sterk a.k.a. Young Marco’s talents as a DJ and producer were among Amsterdam’s best-kept secrets. For well over a decade, he plied his trade, largely unheralded, on the city’s underground dance music scene. It was here, via several now infamous residencies, that he learnt his craft, gaining a reputation for ballsy, genre-defying eclecticism, playing sets that joined the dots between everything from tropical rhythms, afro gems and quirky Middle Eastern disco, to lost proto-house, throbbing techno and industrial-strength jack-tracks. These days, the Dutchman’s talents are widely known around the World. His position as a crate digger, record collector and infamous party-starter now guarantees a packed schedule of gigs in Europe, North America and beyond. His passion for working a dancefloor with “strange music” and “unclassics” is renowned, and it’s this that makes his sets so special. This humid, off-kilter obsession with the inspired and unusual has become a hallmark of Marco’s music, too. Once a key part of the Rush Hour family – the legendary Amsterdam label releasing a number of his early singles – in 2011 he made his debut on Lovefingers’ highly regarded ESP Institute label. His first two EPs for the label set out his now-trademark style, and won support from the likes of Dixon and James Murphy, amongst others, along the way. It’s perhaps unsurprising that a string of remix requests followed, leading to now classic reworks for the likes of Heatsick, Joakim, Francis Bebey and Soft Rocks. His 2013 remix of Tony G’s “Dreams”, a killer chunk of blissful new age deep house, became one of the most in-demand and sought after records of that year. At the tail end of 2015, the best of these remixes were gathered together on Sorry For The Late Reply, the first release on Marco’s freshly minted Safe Trip imprint. 2014 saw the release of his most accomplished studio work to date, the superb debut album Biology on ESP Institute. Wonderfully picturesque, melodious, humid and glassy-eyed, it received rave reviews and confirmed his status as one of electronic music’s truly unique voices. The same year also saw the release of Clouds, a magical collaborative fulllength written and produced in a weekend with Italian ambient pioneer Gigi Masin and British artist Jonny Nash. Credited to Gaussian Curve and released by Amsterdam’s Music From Memory label, it was the unfeasibly beautiful sound of three like-minded musicians working towards a shared goal. In 2017, Marco is as busy as ever. He’ll be hitting the road April onwards with Gaussian Curve for a handful of live dates around the world in support of their second album The Distance, while his contribution to Dekmantel’s series of crate-digging compilations, Selectors, is due to hit in March. His own label – Safe Trip – will be picking up steam with a string of releases that explore electronic music in many different directions. As usual, you’ll also find him spreading his love of weird, wonderful and eccentric music in basements, warehouses and clubs the world over.

Her tracks are therefore built around a gritty and rough baseline that sets the mood for frenetic body dances. Melodies and sounds inherited from her home country - Morocco- completes her soundscape in a way that is her own. During her DJ sets she invites the public on a captivating journey from light to darkness, an oscillation between joy and melancholy sometimes punctuated by oriental melodies. Co-founder and resident of the Laisse Tomber Les Filles collective, she works to celebrate women on the decks, freedom and diversity, values that never leave her, especially behind the decks.
