  • Kali Malone

̸BIOGRAPHY Kali Malone's solo works implement unique tuning systems in minimalist form for analog and digital synthesis often combined with acoustic instrumentation, such as pipe organ, strings, choir and wind instruments. Using synthetic and acoustic instrumentation in repetitive and extended durations, Malone’s rich harmonic textures emit a distinct emotive hue serving to generate a captivating and uncanny depth of focus. Kali’s work has been presented at Berlin Atonal, Moogfest, Cafe Oto, Intonal, Norberg Festival, The Swedish Radio, EMS Elektronmusikstudion & Fylkingen, Angelica Festival, The Royal College of Music, Robot Festival, and Boiler Room among others. _ “Malone’s solo collection of pipe organ musings seems rich with the kind of divinity only discovered alone, in an inner welderness […] These are less dirges than devotionals, holy modal communions with sound and space and self. The music remains minimal in that it is unadorned, naked. And by revealing all, nothing need be implied” - Britt Brown, The Wire _ “Magisterial, glacial, attention-demanding and powerful exposition of Buchla 200 synth tones mapped to acoustic woodwind and brass […] a quartet of diaphanous and slowly unfolding electro-acoustic landscapes that externalise a highly personalised form of emotive topography” - Boomkat

He is also a writer, and a member of the collective member of the collective Ende Wieder. Kassel Jaeger’s works are a complex balance between concrète experimentalism, ambient noise, and electroacoustic improv. He has released several well-received albums on various labels including the boutique CD imprint, Unfathomless, the Italian experimental label, Senufo Editions, as well as Editions Mego where his fifth album, Deltas, was released on vinyl. In Deltas, Jaeger explores geological associations with sound, a theme he expanded in an installation for the exhibition Multinatural Histories at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. He used eight channels in the mineral room to make mineral resonances audible. He also runs the tiny Antisolar label producing small-run endless loop cassettes tapes in series.

  • Loraine James

Loraine James is a producer who uses a minimalist setup and unbound creativity, she utilises IDM glitch aesthetics with an improvisational, jazz-rooted spirit and a unique talent for integrating her diverse influences into cohesive and emotive pieces. Hailing from Enfield, North London, adventurous producer Loraine James is a rising voice in the electronic music community. Taking piano lessons as a child and growing up listening to a wide range of genres has instilled a voracious musical curiosity in her that resonates throughout her productions. While classes at college, and later on Westminster University’s Commercial Music course, facilitated her encounter with the basic tools for digital production, her approach is closer to DIY culture than formal training. Often expressing her love for IDM, her intricate, highly intuitive and emotional tracks, composed used minimal, easily-available setup, and openly queer identity stand in direct opposition with the genre’s traditionally male, white and gear-fetishising intellectualism. James’s music is at once abrasive and vulnerable, a powerful dichotomy used to fuse together the many disparate elements from London’s sound universe which she integrates into her music, moulding grime, R&B, jazz and ambient into novel sonic creations with an instinct for improvisation. In 2017, her self-released debut album Detail caught the ear of many music aficionados, but 2019’s sophomore For You And I LP on Hyperdub would make her a breakthrough star, receiving unanimous acclaim from peers, fans and critics at the likes of Crack, DJ Mag, The Quietus, Mixmag and Pitchfork. On Nothing EP, her second Hyperdub release, she explores new directions with a diverse group of international collaborators including Uruguayan producer Lila Tirando a Violeta, Jonnine Standish of Australian duo HTRK and Iranian-British rapper Tardast. by Andra Nikolayi
