A long-time record collector and connoisseur of jazz funk, disco, afro, reggae and other hidden rarities, Datodeo moved his vinyl to Vietnam from his native France and has since spent most of his spare time spinning around Saigon and the region. He also runs the Vietnam Loves Vinyl online community and worked on the Saigon SuperSound Compilation with Jan Hagenkoetter. Datodeo’s sets are rich explorations of hidden corners of the dance universe, from rare deep house cuts and lost disco and Afro gems to jazz funk movements and contemporary electronic twists. Party music at its purest and most complete, the sound he presents demands to be soaked in and danced to.

Bringing diversity to the decks as an avid dancer, organizer and DJ, Park Lee (Giang Bac) is a Vietnamese-mixed Korean who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City. Having spent some years away, Park was only inspired to start DJ-ing once he had relocated back to his home, where he found himself developing alongside the city’s burgeoning music scene.Park started off through playing at small house parties, and quickly grew into a regular in the local scene. This led him to begin organizing events with friends, most notably the GenderFunk party series in Saigon, a breakthrough collective and pioneer in creating safe spaces for local Queer artists and community, and their own brand of creativity, musical diversity and live performance since 2018.

Anh Vy is one of the youngest Djs in the Saigon underground scene and one of The Observatory’s newest residents. He's recognised by the versatility and flexibility in music. He was one of the resident DJs of former Upper Saigon. As time goes by, he is making himself into an interesting and promising piece of Saigon’s underground scene as an artist and a contributor with his very own uniqueness.

Nic Ford moved to Vietnam from the UK around 10 years ago, and has been running and featuring on lineups of parties throughout the region since then. He has been a resident of The Observatory since it first opened in 2013. Honing his skills since the mid-nineties, he held his first residency at Dry 201 in Manchester and is a voracious collector of a vast array of music. He’s also a highly acclaimed producer, being one half of MadderModes, a production outfit that has releases on a range of impressive labels including DRED, Voodoo Down Records and Millions of Moments.

One of The Observatory residents, Kin’s approach to his sets is intelligent, sensual and constantly evolving. Through his carefully chosen selections, he crafts a sonic flow that careens through the gaps between the physical and emotional. He slowly disarms and relaxes his dance floor while heightening its awareness with tracks from the more shadowy sides of house and delicate frequencies of techno. His dance floor can also be frequently surprised by licks of disco and other unexpected delicacies.

After having plunged into the depths of Saigon underground scene, Vynnibal moved behind the decks to bring her unique goofy, banging yet delicate sound to the aerial life. Despite her tender soul, Vynnibal is not afraid to explore unchartered territories, drive the crowd to unexpected places, mix feelings as she blends liquid emotions into multi-versed musical sets. With Vynnibal, expect the odd and the sparkly, the quirky and the severe, the kisses and the kicks. She is also behind “The Crisis” parties and regularly brings new acts and people together, contributing with passion to turning Saigon into a regional techno powerhouse.

Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, and after traveling near and far, he relocated to his home country in 2018. Quickly becoming one of the key players in Hanoi as part of the Savage crew, he recently moved back to Saigon, where he is now the newest resident of The Observatory. Khoi presents a fun and light-hearted attitude to dance music with eclectic selections and a dreamy, percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences to use on any dance floor he’s put in control of, with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

Nayla, founder of On Point Worldwide Records, is a producer and DJ born and raised in the UK, releasing a selection of instrumental Hip Hop, House and Disco Edits. As a DJ, his genre fluid track selection represents a spicy fusion of Garage, House, Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Italo and Bass, with a healthy injection of Global Sounds. As a producer, he released on imprints such as 禁 JIN, Ute and Siamese Twins under his own name, Mogambo and Khun Fluff aliases. As well as periodic ambient albums on his own Extans Mantra imprint. Which led to sought-after collaborations with Full Circle, Yu Su, S.O.N.S, Marc Pinol, and Benedikt Frey. Originally Teruu played as a drummer in a Tokyo based Hardcore Punk band for 10 years. He was taken over by the charm of dance music in 20xx and started DJing since 2015. His energetic, disco sets are fuelled by techno, house, afro and other obscurities. He was a resident at the infamous Savage in Hanoi before he moved to Saigon, where he was a booking manager of DJ bar WAM. Over the past year, DJ FFAN has been showing his strong presence in the underground club scene of Seoul, while playing liaison role between Seoul and overseas dance music scene. He has been hosting various party series including The Monkey Business, Dub Plate and Anger Management Disco Club, and making it very successful with a lot of great guests from Asia, Europe and North America, such as Chida, Eric Duncan, Justin Van Der Volgen, The Backwoods, Tiago, Gonno, Hugo Capablanca. FFAN is the son of DJ Lee Jin, who is the Korea’s very first club DJ, which means he’s making special geneology as the only second generation DJ in Korea. In 2009, FFAN started DJing as a resident DJ of Club Via. Then he made his mark by becoming a member of Lad Monkeys and Disco Experience. In 2010, he started hosting a party series called ‘The Monkey Business’, and raised himself as a next generation DJ of Korea’s Disco & House music scene. Jase is the original Bass DJ of Vietnam, he had been a pioneer of Jungle and Dubstep, Glitch Hop scene since 2007 in his native land. Jase self-taught himself the art of DJing in 2001 when he bought his 1200s. House was his first genre of choice for the first year. As Jase progressed, he found House's beat was too simple so the next genre was Nu Skool Breaks due to its popularity of it at that time in Sydney. He slowly moved toward Drum and Bass, Hip-hop and Reggae after-co founded the infamous Sydney's DNB promotional crew "Foreigndub" which made numerous successful parties bringing international DJs including DJ Marky and Stamina MC, Big Bud, DJ Patife & MC Cleveland Watkiss, Kenny Ken and many more.

Jauge has been a prolific creator of musical ideas and has been playing live sets at events such as Mutek, Future Music Everything and other various independent parties within the Welsh music scene. During that time he also had releases included on labels such as MTA Records, Food Music, and Bad Panda Records. After more than a decade spent building an enviable reputation for herself in the clubs of Paris, Jennifer Cardini has become an international concern. After all, what other DJ can lay claim to the title of Miss Teen Filipina Hawaii? How many can say that their first job in nightlife was when in high school, serving as the in-house dancer and serving rave smoothies at an all-ages club? How many, after moving to New York by way of San Francisco in the early ’00s, can say that they helped to rejuvenate the city’s then-stale nightlife via her residency at one of the best parties ever held in a hole-in-the-wall gay bar, the Mad Clams affair? How many have tasted stardom as one of the original members of the scene-making dance-music collective Hercules and Love Affair? Exactly one, and it’s Kim Ann. Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Loco Dice is a house DJ/producer with minimal leanings who is affiliated with labels including Four:Twenty Recordings, Ovum Recordings, Cocoon Recordings, M_nus, and Cadenza, as well as the label he founded with production partner Martin Buttrich, Desolat. Born Yassine Ben Achour in Tunisia, he began his career in the early '90s as a rap MC/DJ named Dice'C. As such, he experienced some modest success in his German homeland, for instance releasing the 12" EP Coming from D-Town (1996) on Flavour Records and opening for big-name rap/R&B performers such as Snoop Dogg and Usher. In time he switched from rap to house music and changed his name to Loco Dice in the process. He in turn secured a residency at the Düsseldorf club Tribehouse, where he met superstar producer/DJ Timo Maas, who signed him to his Four:Twenty Recordings label. ~ AllMusic

Originally starting off as a hip-hop and R&B DJ, Louise has grown up with sampling culture and been a crate-digger for a long time. In 2018, she released her first track, a rolling tune that reflects Louise's take on Horny House - "Reach" came out on Moxie's On Loop label and Compilation. Today she hosts radio shows on NTS, Rinse France, The Lot Radio in New York & DJs alongside acts like Floating Points, MCDE & Bambounou.

Fun-sized DJ based in Kuala Lumpur. Previously under the moniker, LissaZombie I play House, Techno and Disco - anything that will make you shake! LZZY is a Malaysia-based self-taught DJ, who has gone from teenage bedroom selector to regional club regular. From her early days of drawing inspiration by dancing it off to fidget electro, to spending summers in Europe, LZZY's sound has since grown to cover what she labels as high energy party music. After 10 years in the scene, she has graced the decks from Bali, Tokyo to Amsterdam. You can find her dropping disco on a sunny Sunday afternoon or creating chaos on the dancefloor with pulsing house, crunchy techno with dollops of acid.

MadderModes is a British deep house and techno duo consisting of Nic Ford and Andy Harper. Now a transcontinental project - with production taking place between Manchester and Saigon - MadderModes’ first official release came in 2014 with a self released 12" under their own Shift Coordinate Points imprint. After that came their 2015 release on Millions Of Moments 'Green Corn Moon EP' which contained a track entitled 'Myth Of The Muses" which was included on Berghain resident Nick Hoppners RA mix and made its way into the playlist of Move D. In late 2015 came "Dark Dust EP" on Andre Kronert's Night Drive Music and in early 2016 the "Empirical Evidence EP" was released on Voodoo Down US records - “The mood is warm and ever so slightly psychedelic across all four tracks on the Empirical Evidence 12”, not least on the sublime opening cut “Corinthian Columns” with its cascading new age melodic lines and delicate drum machine patterns.”

He felt strong sense of vocation for electronic music in the early days of his dj career while playing at underground parties. He has always been touched by the deep and minimalistic aspects of house/techno music. His unique music selection and exquisite mixing style embrace many of the timeless bits and pieces from both old and new electronic music eras, making him shine as one of the essential djs/selectors in the Korean underground scene. He has been engaged in forming a solid local music scene since 2011, as a resident dj for club Mystik where notable djs from around the world have showcased their talents and he is one of the resident djs for club Ring in Seoul since 2020. He is receiving lovecalls from world clubs and events such as Closer, Club Der Visionaere (Hoppetosse), Robert Johnson, Resoulte (New York), Sublime (Paraguay), Motif (Nicaragua). He also curates his monthly event, Voice where he invites likeminded international djs who share a common attitude to deepen the range of styles available in the Seoul underground scene.

The "IT PLACE" in Bucharest was Kristal Club, and he went there to enjoy his favorite artists and get a glimpse of the scene. Playing for friends and small parties was just the beginning for Mahony, getting more recognition as a DJ when he got the residency of Kudos Beach Club in Mamaia. With a full season and great reviews, Mahony was signed as a resident DJ in his favorite club, Kristal. He got to play alongside great artists like Pan-Pot, The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, Dubfire, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Loco Dice, and many more. His career fast forwarded playing for Sunwaves Festival over the years, as one of the residents.

Amsterdam born and raised artist Masalo has been making waves, in the Amsterdam scene and beyond, for the past few years. With roots in Japan, his diversified upbringing is strongly translated into his musical output. Masalo’s DJing is proof of this hybridism, unearthing organic music from the past and combining them with new era dance music in a seamless way. This year his tour de force Dekmantel Boiler Room together with Kamma, along a full touring schedule of club and festival appearances has put him in the international spot. Masalo’s production art embodies the same spirit, where hybridism is being a key philosophy in his work. His choice cuts have found their home on the Rush Hour label, the imprint he’s closely connected with. With the recent ‘New Dance’ EP and a remix for New York’s Tom Noble, winning the hearts of many dance aficionados around the globe, a prospect is emerging as brightly as his party’s name. Together with Kamma, he runs the dance party series Brighter Days, a colourful get-together celebrating dance music culture to the fullest. Mickey Zhang (Zhang Ran) is a godfather of Chinese dance music. His massive 20 year career spans DJing, producing, sound tracking, and numerous album releases. Well, most people outside of China wouldn't know the inland Chinese province of Ningxia, but that’s where young Mickey was grew up. His artistic family was the ideal launch pad into the Beijing Dance Academy at age 11. Mogwaa is one of South Korea's shining stars. Momoko "Moko" Goto, better known in the DJ world as Powder, has successfully taken her neon charged creations out of the Tokyo underground and into the discerning worldwide house & techno public. After her debut on Lovefingers’ ESP Institute, Powder’s cosmic rhythms found a home on Samo DJ’s Born Free & Discodromo’s CockTail d’Amore Music, pushing her tribal-inspired, hypnotic sound further into a surreal house, techno and psychedelic disco territory. She recently ushered in a brand new mix series for Beats in Space, a further testament to her DJ skills and sensibilities. Beyond her work as a music creator, Powder’s DJing backs up her production style with many influences. As a selector, she has notably eclectic tastes, which run the gamut from house to no wave to Japanese synthpop, utilizing extended loops and subtle blends to create a genre-defying, transcendent experience.

As far back as the early '90s, Ricardo Villalobos began building an impressive discography of 12" releases on respected dance labels like Playhouse and Perlon, and around the turn of the decade he was one of the most revered producers and DJs in dance music. In his youth, the Chilean-born Villalobos moved with his family to Germany in order to avoid the military dictatorship of Pinochet, and he eventually fell in with the country's fertile house community. A minimalist at heart, he trotted the globe to study percussion in order to apply his knowledge to his productions, which almost always sound remarkably expansive despite their simplicity. He has solo releases on Nilla and All Inn Records and previous collaborations out on Culprit, Souvenir and Turqouise Blue among others. Roustam was born in Moscow and grew up in Chicago which has left a lasting imprint on his creative and artistic life. He was raised on a steady diet of classic US House and techno in the Midwest and is a forward thinking and talented dj and producer, spending his time between Chicago, Berlin and Moscow. After studying classical music in her youth, Sonja Moonear set aside the piano in favour of the turntables and bought a Roland R8. Surrounded by the Swiss mountains, Sonja immersed herself in the Geneva underground before finally infiltrating the ranks of the Weetamix residents in 2002. From that point on, participating in ever more ambitious projects, she was tapped by an international agency and started the road trip. Moonear slowly began collaborating with artists and friends like Luciano or Cosmic Chile Zürich, along with Dandy Jack as Junction SM. She has acquired an impressive international reputation, playing in clubs and festivals worldwide. In the last couple of years she has been releasing her own tracks and remixes on renowned international labels such as Karat and Perlon. She runs the label Ruta5 and organises various events in Switzerland as well as the growing Kiss Me festival.

Mei grew up near the vibrant megacity Chengdu in the lush Western China Sichuan Basin. At the age of 9, she began to learn the traditional Chinese Erhu, a genuinely mysterious folk instrument, two-stringed, played with a bow and made from carved wood and snakeskin, sometimes known in the Western world as the Chinese violin or the Chinese two-stringed fiddle. First blowing a gale as a forerunner of the new wave of Melbourne dance producers, Tornado Wallace’s distinct and perceptive electronics now find him in a constant rotation of both hemispheres, spending most of the year based in Berlin. From formative house beginnings, the ESP Institute initiation Thinking Allowed proved Tornado Wallace as a force to be reckoned with - the driving groove and Will Powers stargazing quickly matched by an EP of eco-electro burners on Beats In Space. This two timing continued for another round with ESP issuing the elegant Circadia, while Beats In Space got their churning acid two-tracker Kangaroo Ground/Ferntree Gully. Yaya grows up in Torino, in the resonant Babylon of his home, where the rhythms of his father’s, singer and leading voice of the ensemble M’bamina, drums prophesied a multi-ethnic Italy. During the 70’s the sound of M’bamina spread an exotic afro-beat sound in the smoky clubs of the cold Torino of those days. As a boy Yaya grew up surrounded by the sound of the albums released by one of the pioneer band of afro sound in Italy. Since his teen age, Yaya approaches with the rhythm performing as a drummer around the city. It is when at the age of 17 he purchases a pair of decks, that his blood’s rhythm takes an electronic turmoil driving him to house music: Yaya begins then playing at clubs and parties of the flourished techno-house scene of Turin. At 18, he lands for the first time in the island of music hedonism, Ibiza; his vivacity lead him to play at several afterhours and his musical assertiveness allowed him to be noticed by the entrepreneurs of the white island’s big electronic circus..
