about
SF-based techno by way of London and NYC, and with one foot always in the Balearics. Airpusher Collective resident; FM radio host (Big Love Show).
The Bermuda Triangle of techno...Jon Barnes has disrupted navigation in dark rooms with flashing lights throughout London, New York, Ibiza and San Francisco. Originally a jazz musician, Jon caught the dance music bug from the contagious sounds radiating from New York’s Twilo in the late 1990s. His musicianship and grasp of the genre keep his tastes constantly evolving, always forward thinking, and never losing sight of his roots: sun-drenched, late-morning walks home from West 27th Street, and Balearic afternoons spent shaking the sand out of his clothes from the afterhours.
Today Jon calls San Francisco home and turns dials with the Airpusher Collective, a crew of SF-based DJs taking Burning Man by storm. From 2004-2014 he was resident and co-host of the Big Love Show on KZSU 90.1 FM, one of the longest-running house music radio shows in the US.
