about
Jason Chue, better known as Wookie, is a UK garage musician. He scored a UK top 10 hits in 2000 with his song, "Battle". Chue's career began in 1991 as a producer for UK R&B/reggae artist Wayne Marshall, producing most of Marshall's debut album 90 Degrees and Rising in 1994. Shortly after, Chue became writer/producer for Soul II Soul at their studio, working with Jazzie B for several years. He would also go on to produce for Dynamite MC and Doom Man.[2]

Chue has remixed tracks by Destiny's Child, Public Enemy and Nas, among others. In the late 1990s, the 'Wookie sound' became apparent in his bootleg mixes of songs by Whitney Houston, Brandy and Debelah Morgan.

  • ÂME

Two friends meet outside Karlsruhe, in Schwarzwald. One is an explorer of galaxies far away, the other a composer of fragments. Together they create a joie de vivre, arranging and deconstructing their creations, their own formations. Beneath their feet, a stone world rests against the living world, touching rivers, mountains, forest floors and the first foot trails between Schwarzwald, Vosges Mountains and Naturpark Pfälzerwald. This stone world is made of smooth subterranean rock that swirls and folds. Altered from its original igneous by pressures a hundred thousand years strong. What was once sharp is now smooth. Lines become curves, reversals. If you were to try read its origin, its strata, you would not tell which direction the past flowed or the future began.

  • Commodo

An artist with a minimal online presence, Commodo is one of an increasingly rare few who make waves through the strength of their music alone. He builds bass-focussed beats with soul and substance that never perpetuate a formula, distancing himself from contemporaries with ingenious sampling and sound design influenced by his long-time affinity with the vibrancy of hip hop.

  • DJ Hatcha

Hatcha’s roots go deep back into late ‘90s UK garage, Croydon and pirate radio. Originally the buyer at the now defunct Big Apple record shop, Hatcha was one of the very first DJs to pick up on the new dark strains of 2step that were being made by local producers like El-B, Artwork and Horsepower at the turn of the millennium. As the producers came into the shop to sell white labels of these niche new sounds, a community arose. The shop began its own label, Big Apple Records and its first release was the dubstep classic “Red” by the shop’s resident producer Artwork. The next releases came from his two protégés, Benga and Skream. As the garage sounds from south London began to take on their own unique, dark swung direction, it became clear that the nascent scene needed a home. In 2001 Forward>>, dubstep’s founding club, started with Hatcha a resident. It was here he began to up the ante. While other DJs came with a collection of white labels (tracks immanently due for a public releas

  • Eats Everything

Bristol, England DJ and producer Eats Everything started out spinning jungle and drum'n'bass. Over the years, the man born Daniel Pearce incorporated more bass-loaded house into his repertoire, crafting a party-starting sound the likes of Carl Cox. His non-stop party started in 2011 with his debut track, "Entrance Song" (Pets Records), a heartier and richer version of Disclosure's deep house. The Eats Everything EP followed on Dirtybird, and Pearce, preferring performing over studio time, continued with a series of consistent releases over the following years. A slew of honors helped move along his exposure, notably a few essential mixes for Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show, as well as the DJ Mag award for Best British DJ in 2012. In addition to filling dancefloors, he also left his mark on works by Adam F, Jamie Jones, X-Press 2, Four Tet, Skream, Sinead Harnett, and Disclosure. ~ AllMusic

  • Mantra

Representing real drum and bass at it’s finest, Mantra’s deep and emotive sound in the mix comes from an intense passion for the music. With a selection that’s both inspirational as well as educational, her sets bring the beats into balance and cross the spectrum of dark and uplifting styles. Much more than just a DJ, Mantra has already made an impact across the drum and bass scene and looks set to keep rolling strong. Conscious of the history of the music she loves yet always looking to push things forward, she’s no newcomer and her involvement with drum and bass runs much deeper than just a hobby. Having worked for record distributers SRD as well as promoting her own regular club night, Rupture, she’s learnt from the ground up and built a solid foundation on which she continues to grow.

  • Sam Divine

A born entertainer with a burning desire to play music to people around the world, Sam Divine’s enigmatic sets are an effortless schooling in pure, unadulterated house. From her early days as the sole member of the Defected street team in Ibiza to fronting their radio show and now headlining some of the world’s biggest clubs and festivals, The First Lady of Defected, has become an intrinsic part of the UK house music scene. The seeds of Sam’s DJ career can be traced back to a pair of belt drive turntables and a battered Numark mixer set up in her Mum’s shed; a pirate radio show broadcast from her bedroom using ‘borrowed’ equipment from the local college and MSN Messenger, and time spent expanding her musical knowledge working at Spin Central in her hometown of Weston-super-Mare and Chemical Records in Bristol. ~ Soundcloud

  • Sasha

North Wales native Sasha became one of the world's most renowned and popular DJs, known for populist fusions of house, techno, and trance. Starting out in the late '80s as a club DJ, the former Alexander Coe got his first big break when he was hired by the dance club Shelly's to spin and rework popular sounds of the day. It was there that the young DJ found fame with the dance and house crowd, but it wasn't until he started laying down his grooves at the Haçienda and Renaissance that he become known nationally and, eventually, globally. ~ AllMusic

  • SHERELLE

SHERELLE is leading a new generation of high-speed ravers who are addicted to jungle, drum ‘n’ bass, footwork and juke. Through her DJ sets, radio shows and record label she gives a platform to both scene elders and new talent and is committed to pushing 160bpm+ dance music into the future. The London-born DJ has been busy since that Boiler Room sent her signature brand of low-end energy viral: She’s held down a year-long Radio 1 residency that’s seen her showcase cutting-edge dance music to a mainstream audience as well as host OGs like DJ Spinn, 4Hero, Kode9 and Luke Vibert as well as next gen disruptors like Mantra, L C Y, Yazzus and Fracture; She’s started the Hooversound label alongside partner in club music Naina with releases from Hyroglifics, Sinistarr and Deft; And she’s co-founded the incendiary 6 Figure Gang squad with Fauzia, Jossy Mitsu, Dobby and the aforementioned L C Y and Yazzus. Let the takeover begin.
