Jeff Chong

Jeff Chong was born and grew up in Hong Kong.He enjoyed learning from elder musicians, when he was 14 years old, he was deeply attracted by Deep house and techno music which pushed him to become an underground DJ. Since 2013 Jeff Chong immersed himself in Shanghai and Hong’s underground scene in a lot of well-known undergrounds and clubs in Shanghai, Bangkok, Osaka, and other cities, after 3 year djing he began to organize his own team , party brands, and music labels such as SPAN SHANGHAI, VOUIS RECORD, MOIST with the purpose to promote the established local music, also he never stop searching the sound which able to make people smile while they are dancing. Disco Funk, to Deep House with swing Jazz elements, Funky Techno, and groovy tech house, are all Jeff’s DJ trump cards, Jeff pursues the remixes and the rhythm. He takes advantage of every opportunity to play, and he also enjoys “Long mix” in his gigs, Jeff is never restricted by the music genre, good at “mash up” between house and techno. 土生土长的“香港人”，于2010年定居上海，90后的他喜欢与比自己年长的人交流，因此相比同龄人更早的接触到了电子音乐，对Techno,Deep House有种独特的情怀并开始接触DJ行业. 2013年开始于香港,曼谷,大阪,上海等城市等多个知名俱乐部及音乐节担任演出嘉宾,并成立SPAN,MOIST等本土派对厂牌,短短数年时间内不停探索能让舞池躁动的音乐从Disco, Funk,到House,Deep House加入即兴感强烈的Jazz元素,及带有灵魂的Techno加入弹性十足的Funky元素，这些都是Jeff Chong让舞池里的人笑着跳舞的必杀技，Jeff Chong擅长将House与Techno融合Mash up的打法，不受风格局限，喜欢以Long Mix的手法混音,从小关注贝斯手的他,在电子音乐里同样注重每首歌里Bass呈现，追求现场律动，把握每一次出场机会,在每个城市用自己的音乐让繁忙的都市生活添加上色彩。

Beginning to learn the art of DJ-ing at 16, in his DJ sets one will find a nice blend of different genres ranging from Deep, Tech, House, Techno, Minimal, Acid, Electro, Balearic, Soul, Funk, Disco, and more. Having a lifelong love for a wide spectrum of music, Jeremy delivers a rocking DJ set every time with his impressive knowledge of tunes of all sorts. Jeremy surely knows a lot about the styles of music, the labels, the re-mixers, and the producers who create these tunes. Going beyond the music he plays, Jeremy strives to surpass the art of mixing. Reviews from the clubbing scenes often mention his tight solid mixing, awesome selection, and sequencing of his tunes. For those who have gone to see Jeremy’s spin before, they know that he is a DJ who knows the stuff well beyond many counterparts for a long long time! He holds residencies for top Underground clubs in Hong Kong which includes Oma and Social Room. Besides Hong Kong, he has also performed in many other top clubs and venues around the world.

OMA is proudly one of Hong Kong's only dedicated club for underground house, Techno, Trance ,bass & break music , which boast more watts per square foot than any other venue you can imagine. The rough cosiness in a petite but yet bombastic environment with a massive screen playing to your mind with crystal-clear (HD) psychedelic graphic patterns over few drinks is one of a kind experience not many clubs can offer. The same spot has played host for over 12 years to a large and ever-loyal clientele and new customers alike in various guises,namely, Phi-b's, Yumla & then Midnight & Co. OMA was born in 2014 to carry on the fine traditions it has inherited and had taken fun to the next level. It continued the no fuss, underground madness, where music and ONLY music matters with the best local and overseas DJs gracing the booth and letting the music to do the rest of the talking. In the 6th year under this badge, OMA had invested heavily in upgrading the decoration (whilst maintaining the original New York and Detroit underground music loft culture) and in June 2019 we have further installed expensive new music systems & hardware to supplement the improved decoration. Precision Devices drivers (as used in Funktion-1 speakers) and best Lab Gruppen amplifiers and award winning mixers (Xone-96 & Midas Venice F16) were added to the booth stable together with dbx 4800 crossovers to up the music a few more notches. Come and feel the difference...you won’t regret your visit and maybe addicted to the sounds!
