DJ Roxanne

Born, but not raised in the Bronx of New York City, Roxanne moved to Florida in 1984 and at the age 15 she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Dillard School of Performing Arts where she gained a background in music theory. Being involved in music most of her life, she was an accomplished guitarist in local bands but that gave way to her desire to be involved in all styles of electronic music, especially Drum and Bass.
Roxanne discovered electronic music in the mid 90’s while working in a nightclub. "I was fascinated by the way a DJ could control a crowd and how much energy would be in the room". Once hooked, Roxanne spent much of her time learning the skills to become a DJ. After only six months of dedication perfecting her skills, her hard work paid off in the form of bookings. Her style developed into mainly the harder, darker and more aggressive sounds of drum and bass and she is able to peak the energy levels within a set again and again. She has been ripping it up at parties throughout South Florida and playing at events all over the U.S. for the past 14 years.
During the summer of 1999, Roxanne relocated to Los Angeles to further pursue her career as a top notch DJ and producer after outgrowing the scene in Florida. Since moving to L.A., Roxanne has become a favorite at many of the weekly drum and bass clubs including the longest running most successful Drum & Bass night in Los Angeles “Respect” and has earned quite a reputation at the larger events both locally and out of town. She has had several releases including "Hypnosis" which was released on Vortex Recordings, and has remixed E-Sassin’s track entitled "Fragment" on Thermal Recordings.
Over the past two years Roxanne has been widening the scope of her music selection by branching out and playing other styles of electronic music including Techno, Electro, and Breaks. This veteran DJ is quickly becoming a favorite within these genres all over Los Angeles at local clubs and on various radio shows.

  • Star Eyes

Queen of heavy bass Star Eyes is synonymous with raw underground bass music. A founding member of the world-renowned Trouble & Bass crew, currently at the helm of the Chaos Clan, this Los Angeles-based DJ/producer causes mayhem on the dancefloor with a style that swiftly connects the dots between regional American bass sounds and the hardcore continuum. Though her style moves across breakbeat, grime, bassline, Bmore/Jersey club, baile funk, and beyond, her aesthetic is continually inspired by jungle, old-skool hardcore, and the L.A. illegal warehouse parties in which she was raised. Star Eyes began DJing at age 15 – her name soon became synonymous with California jungle scene, and she was a longtime resident at the pioneering female-led drum 'n' bass night Eklectic in San Francisco. Eventually she founded America's first UK garage duo Syrup Girls (with DJ Siren) and moved to New York City, where she became a co-founder of the Trouble & Bass crew & record label, who were the first to bring Skepta, Skream & Benga, Night Slugs, Rusko, Elijah & Skilliam, Flava D and more to NYC. In 2009, she began releasing her first original productions and remixes on labels like UTTU, Mixpak, T&B and Worst Behavior. Since T&B disbanded in 2015, she has run her own digital label and party series called Chaos Clan and she's currently a member of L.A. renegade party crew Warp Mode alongside Bianca Oblivion and AK Sports, along with holding down a monthly radio show on Dublab. Star Eyes has played at Outlook Festival, Sonár, Fabric London, EDC, Burning Man, Stealth, Bossa Nova, Elsewhere, Rinse FM, and beyond. She is also an alumni of Red Bull Music Academy, a former radio host on RBMA/Red Bull Radio, a noted music journalist and the host of the RAVE TO THE GRAVE podcast (available on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, etc). With world-class skills and an irreverent attitude, Star Eyes has definitely earned the title "queen of heavy bass.” ̸ SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY Bell Curve - For the Birds (Star Eyes Remix) (Worst Behavior, 2021) Star Eyes - Sunset 95 (Good Room Brooklyn Compilation, 2020) Statiqbloom - Silver Face (Star Eyes '88 Remix) (Synthicide, 2020) Star Eyes - Overdose (Chaos Clan, 2020) Star Eyes - Leather Strap (Bound, 2020) Star Eyes - Ice Palace (Floor Drugs) (Magic City, 2019) Star Eyes - Close Yr Eyes EP (Chaos Clan, 2016) Star Eyes - Hardest Now EP (Chaos Clan, 2016) Flinch & Star Eyes - Ya'll Ready Know (Smog, 2015) Spooky - Code 9 (Star Eyes Remix) (Hot Mom, 2014) Star Eyes & Jubilee - Merkwood Estates (UTTU, 2013) Dark Ages - First Born EP (Frite Nite, 2012) Star Eyes - Lost Girls EP (Trouble & Bass, 2012) Star Eyes - White Gloves EP (Trouble & Bass, 2011) Michna - Triple Chrome Dipped (Star Eyes Remix) (Ghostly, 2011) Star Eyes - Disappear (Trouble & Bass, 2009)
