The only woman featured on Worldwide FM’s Sydney broadcast, and having recently produced her first old out all-femme-identifying showcase featuring musicians, visual artists, poets and DJs, 20-year-old Ella Haber has worked toward her debut for 15 years. Shocked by a hushed crowd reaction at her first public performance, Ella’s realisation her voice could halt and occupy an audience’s thoughts bleeds into all aspects of her life. With early demos of her debut EP, CLAY, reaching the ears of Brisbane-raised, London-based musician Jordan Rakei, the recent Ninja Tune signee - impressed with her vibrant songwriting and compositions - lent his production chops to the project, arranging and recording live instrumentation at Old Paradise Audio in London, while Ella worked on vocal recordings in Sydney.
With his roots in Assam, northeast India, and his hustle now based in Sydney, the psychedelic soul-savant known as jitwam. has cemented his reputation as a world-class DJ, live performer and label head at The Jazz Diaries. Following his Detroit Swindle collaboration 'Coffee In The Morning' and his 'Back To My Place' outing on Darker Than Wax, his new EP 'Sun After Rain', with French producer Folamour is a keys-driven dance floor groover, complete with triumphant brass stabs and a rock solid rhythm section. Delivering a promise of the brighter tomorrow that the world is currently yearning for. Utilising knowledge acquired through years spent digging through dusty crates, and talents honed as a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and vocalist, jitwam moves freely between the dancefloor and your headphones, fusing musical identities and stitching together ideas into some of the warmest music you’ll hear all year.
The highly anticipated project of long-time friends Hans Müller and Wolfgang Schneider bring to you LAZYWAX. Meeting at a discotheque in Berlin, the duo immediately began finding similar interests in their favourite Italo-disco producers and composers. Their instant connection lead to the birth of their first track ‘Pluto’ at Han’s studio on an 8 track tape machine, Minimoog Model-D and a Juno 60.
Since the inception of the LAZYWAX project, the pair have been devoted to the studio where they have been tirelessly working to create an array of quintessential discotheque tracks which draw on elements of modern European disco, whilst still paying homage to disco deities of the seventies and eighties. Although the project has been kept tightly-sealed over the years, the rumours have finally surfaced about a string of live performances set to take place in the near future.
