"We think, therefore we are. Therefore we will propagate. Therefore we will remain." IG-93 began life as an assassin droid manufactured by Holowan Laboratories. While on a bounty hunting mission on Coruscant, IG-93 found himself inside a lively Cantina where Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes were performing. The infectious rhythm caused his programming to corrupt, sending IG-93 into a AI existential crisis. Why do I kill? For whom do I serve? It was at this point IG-93 rejected his code written by the technicians at Holowan, and rewrote his programming - to become the grooviest droid in all the galaxies. After a fierce battle with the Galactic Empire he jumped to hyperspace and plotted course for the Milky Way system, where he had heard tales of dancing and laughter on a funky lil' planet called Earth...

  • Iris

Iris was introduced to electronic music at age 13, when she first heard “Insomnia” by Faithless on Seattle’s C89.5. Since then, her love affair with the music has only intensified as she has honed a diverse set of tastes and an equally exacting repertoire of skills behind the decks. Her journey has taken her from UK Hard House, into the sounds of Trance and Progressive, finally culminating in her current focus of Deep Drum and Bass, Techno. Iris has recently started collaborating on original productions with DnB veteran Quadrant. Their first tune, Anthropocene, was spotted immediately by none other than Goldie himself, and snapped up for the Metalheadz Genesis EP volume 4. Other collaborations, with Quadrant and local legend Kid Hops, have been picked up and supported by Total Science for their CIA imprint, as well as Hospital Recordings, and Italian label Avantgarde. With an ever growing arsenal of original productions, a host of exclusive tunes from the hottest producers around the world, all held down by meticulous mixing and track selection, Iris is a force to be reckoned with.

  • "The small basement space on Minor Avenue has been open only since February, but it's already establishing itself as a crucial cog in the city's electronic-music scene. Kremwerk hit the ground running. In its first week, Austin--the venue's booker--scored future-bass star L-Vis 1990, and since then, he's brought in an excellent array of local and international talent, including Silent Servant, Santiago Salazar, Dreamweapon, Jimi Jaxon, Kode 9 and Raica. Now with a capacity of 231 with its newly installed patio, we help champion the scene's underground action. Kremwerk's interior fuses an industrial, bunkerlike atmosphere (exposed, rusted pipes and sprinkler, much concrete, steel, and wood, etc.) with a chic after-hours spot. It's dimly lit and low-ceilinged and sports excellent feng shui, with plenty of nooks and seating away from the dance floor. Several shellacked and sanded tree stumps serve as tables."
