  • Al Burro

Al Burro (London) first got interested in electronica back in 1994 when he first heard Jeff Mills’ Transmission 1. Drawn to the futuristic soundscape, he and a friend bought their first set of belt-driven decks back in 1995 and this began a longstanding affair with techno. After annoying the neighbours for a couple of years, they decided to branch out and start annoying people at private parties and smaller venues, and annoy them they did. But, with practice and time came a more well-rounded sound; after which, he took a 5-year sabbatical from DJing and took his turn on the dance floors around the world. Al Burro is equally at home in industrial warehouses as in ambient pastures. He is a firm believer in variations on a common theme: It's about the mood not the genre. He has held residencies at Korner in Taipei and Delta in Hong Kong. Al Burro (London) first got interested in electronica back in 1994 when he first heard Jeff Mills’ Transmission 1. When next Al stopped travelling long enough to make owning musical equipment logistically possible, Al discovered a more mature sound. The Detroit Soul and Motown roots remained, but added to this was a drive for a more worldly sound and an appreciation of other forms of music including jazz, hip hop, swing, house and too many more to mention. Al cites as some of his influences: Gilles Peterson, Ninja Tunes, Mr Scruff, DJ Food, Jurassic 5, Radiohead, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Derrick May, UR and the list goes on.

  • Lucia Lu

The Berlin-born DJ and full-time Icon is fusing punchy sounds with her highly energetic presence to serve a musical specialité through every night which made her way scratching through the surface of Berlin's yet so dark electronic underground scene. In a city of DJ transplants, the born and bred (East) Berliner LUCIA LU is a standout in more ways than one. The DJ, community organizer, podcaster, model, and co-founder of the popular Hoe_mies collective has become an unmistakable figure in a notoriously homogenous scene. Both in her former work with Hoe_mies, whose mission is to create safe spaces for marginalized people in a scene dominated by cis, white males, and in her distinctive sound as a DJ, Lucia Lu challenges the narrow conception and antiquated stereotypes of what “Berlin techno” looks like and sounds like, and most importantly, who it is for. Lucia Lu’s warm, upbeat, and soulful sets, which merge the cathartic danceability of house and techno with sassy pop, hip-hop, and disco anthems from yesteryear, are powerful protests against the austere, self-serious atmosphere that dominates the electronic music sphere. ability to appease die-hard hip-hop and techno fans alike, with Lú you can expect the exxtraordinary!
