about
Detroit’s very own Seth Troxler is taking over Beatport’s Twitch channel in February, in honor of Black History Month. The four-week series kicks off on Monday, with a conversation between Seth Troxler and American philosopher, political activist, social critic, author, and intellectual, Dr. Cornel West. The two will discuss the importance of the African American origins of house and techno, before sets from Tony Humphries, Ron Trent, and Seth himself. Each episode will follow a similar theme, beginning with a roundtable discussion where Seth and guests will reflect on the history, influences, and important records that helped shape moments and movements in house and techno. They’ll then play music centered around the day’s theme, with guest artists hailing from cities like Chicago, Brooklyn and Detroit, including Stacey Hotwaxx Hale, Paul Johnson, Al Ester, Channel Tres, and DJ Holographic.
