about
When it comes to Sydney legends, they don’t get much bigger than this. These two mainstays have spent the past two (plus) decades making the dance floors of our city go off and were our go to last December for our one weekend of dancing.
Bumpy starts (hopefully!) aside, please welcome back two of the best to do it for all nighter to make up for the last couple of weeks of having dancefloors restricted.
Simon Caldwell b2b Kato
Two names synonymous with the sound of Sydney, Simon Caldwell and Kato. They both have shows on FBi Radio, they both throw epic parties and both have record collections that we wish we could steal.
Simon Caldwell is Sydney’s house music don. He can play a million times in a weekend and he’ll still draw a massive crowd. He co-promotes Mad Racket, one of the freshest and friendliest underground parties in Sydney and over the years has been invited to play with the likes of Derrick Carter, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Richie Hawtin and Frankie Knuckles, to name a few.
Kato is one of the Sydney club scene’s most recognisable characters, often spotted on the dance floor with his TUNE towel. He combines classic dance floor elements with cutting edge new sounds, ebbing between poly-rhythmic percussion, hunky house and tasteful techno. His most recent project Barney in the Tunnel with Tunnel Signs as well as his Alien party have given us even more reasons to love him.
These two are no stranger to the late night dance floor so we can only imagine what kind of a journey they’ll be taking us on at Tokyo Sing Song on May 22.
