Independent Underground Radio. Made in Seoul. Established in 2016, Seoul Community Radio (SCR) is an online music broadcasting platform at the centre of Asia’s fast-growing electronic music community. Since formation, the South Korea-based station has helped to inspire and nurture new DJ and artistic talent from home and abroad. Our goal to incubate fresh sounds and new faces has seen SCR co-create a regional network of like-minded radio stations and collaborate with some of the most forward-thinking brands across music, fashion and technology.. After nearly four years in our inaugural home, SCR recently opened ‘Studio Two’ - a unique radio + bar concept space in Itaewon. Studio Two will for the first time allow access to the public for certain events and will serve as culture centre for Seoul’s diverse music communities, hosting live shows, pop-ups, workshops and other artistic endeavours.

Wavecord is a DJ crew formed in 2016, playing mostly broad range of Disco. With the founder DJ Mellan, all members(Baxa, Tiger Disco, Junmo, Jesse You) have different taste within the genre of Disco. Baxa who is also a designer, taking care of visual outputs with Kim Gwal. EDW DJs are really focusing on presenting all aspects of genre, hidden or leftfield, new or classic, for instance, from underground Italo gems to Post-Punk influenced music which has some clue to Disco. So to say, we call it Disco more like a sense of ‘discothèque’ that is a meaning from 'record library'. No barrier, no boundaries, just spreading happiness and joy. EDW stands for it.

MODECi is a hot new nightclub that was opened in 2017 by the popular apparel shop HENZ SHOP. The club is located on the fifth floor of a mixed-use building in the heart of the Hongdae area. While a broad mix of musical genres is played, the club’s specialties are hip hop, soul, and funk. Korean DJ’s such as DJ Soulscape, who is well-known in Korea’s underground scene, DJ’s from overseas, and even bands occasionally perform here, attracting a wide range of people. From the rooftop you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, making it a nice spot to cool down from dancing. The rooftop area is also often used for a variety of parties. In the basement of the same building, there is another club called HENZ CLUB, which is run by the same company. Unlike MODECi, this club focuses solely on bass-heavy music. Sometimes there are joint events that invite clubbers to move between the two clubs, so be sure to check MODECi’s schedule before going.
