  • Byron The Aquarius

“I think that’s what music is missing: Live frequencies. I miss those days when people just created from the love of music.” When Byron The Aquarius talks about live frequencies, his enthusiasm is infectious. A keys player by trade, Byron’s love for melody and harmony has consistently drawn the attention of electronic music’s leading labels and producers. In 2015, Byron released a ten track solo album on BBE entitled “Planets of Love.” When he wasn’t working on his own music, he was playing keys in the studio with Kai Alce. These creations got into the hands of Theo Parrish, who loved the sound of his sublime jazz-infected house and picked two tracks to release on his legendary Sound Signature label in 2016. The resulting “Highlife EP” has been hailed as “stunning”, “intoxicating” and “essential.” In the years since, Byron has released a consistently high level of music on Wild Oats, Eglo records & more. In the past 3 years Byron has released three LPs, starting with his debut album “Astral Traveling” released on Mutual Intentions. The following year Byron released “Ambrosia LP” on Jeff Mills’ label Axis Records, & most recently, Byron released “The New Beginning LP” on the UK label Shall Not Fade. He has toured the planet playing festivals such as Dimensions, Dekmantel, Suncebeat, Lente Kabinet, All Points East and many more as well as a plethora of the worlds best clubs. 2022 will see the beginning of Byron’s own label TALKNOI$E Records kick-off with a five-track EP coming out in June and will be available as a limited vinyl-run along with digital release on all platforms.

  • Jacq Jill

̸BIOGRAPHY DJ, curator, and all-around trouble maker, Jacq Jill is an undeniable force in the American underground. Known for being as versatile as they are technically gifted, featuring all across the spectrum of the Underground in the Mid-Atlantic US and beyond. Splitting their time between DC and Baltimore, Jacq has been spinning energetic “techno-adjacent” sets for nearly a decade. Jacq has multiple releases on a who’s who of mix series and is featured on the 2019 Boiler Room North American Tour. Selection is so important, as is energy. As much as they work hard to be a diverse and conscious selector, they work twice as hard to be an energy provider and community organizer. Their goal is always to elevate a room whether that be through having a wide soundscape or creating a space that welcomes the outsiders. A friendly face bringing you disrupting rhythms, old school rave and trance infused sounds, anything techno or techno adjacent, with a healthy respect for queer underground history.
More recently, Jacq has been featured in the Washington Post discussing the current state of American dance floors and navigating the pandemic, as well as a feature in Extend Magazine, where they recall the transition from conservative Texas to the East coast, bringing their favorite southern sound influences along with them.
Expanding their reach, Jacq has made multiple noted appearances at Elsewhere NYC, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Hot Mass Pittsburgh, Nowadays, and The Lot Radio. This summer they made their SF debut alongside globetrotters, Beautiful Swimmers, played alongside queer royalty at Wrecked & Carry Nation’s NYC Pride extravaganza, and launched a new daytime rave series BODYSERVICE in the heart of Baltimore underground. Jacq Jill is best known for their captivating energy on the decks, it’s impossible not to be pulled in.

  • Priori

Under the Priori Moniker, Québecois musician Francis Latreille has established himself as a crucial voice in underground techno. His 2019 full-length debut On A Nimbus, released on his own NAFF imprint, was a haunting foray into the possibility/impossibility of technological utopia, where elements of dub techno, drum & bass, IDM, and tech-house curiously converged, resulting in an album at once familiar, modern, and undeniably singular. Francis followed that with a string of essential releases–from the slow-burning techy meditations of SCN and Little Flower to the anthemic, trance-inflected Infinity–ending with 2021’s Your Own Power. Priori is also an accomplished mixing engineer; a quick search will reveal an exhaustive list of credits on projects by Roza Terenzi, D. Tiffany, Escape Artist, Bambii, Gene Tellem, Maara, and ex-terrestrial, to name a few. Between the label he runs with Adam Feingold (aka ex-terrestrial) and the studio he runs with Patrick Holland, Francis is quietly shaping the course of underground electronic dance music in Canada and abroad.
