Join us for our first event in 2021, this time we invited two guests from Hanoi. DI LINH is a young artist from Vietnam. Since she began the musical path, she has been making her mark by the diverse and colorful music selection. She is a part of Hanoi Underground Movement and resident DJ at Savage. JANKO's musical taste is eclectic as it encompasses a wide range of styles, moving seamlessly through house, disco, acid or breaks with a touch of weird sounds. A passionate digger and music enthusiast always has a surprise or two in his sleeve. Also on board, Saigon's pioneers Nic Ford & Chris Wolter. And last but not least Anh Vy & the two founders of Miteinander in Saigon, Yokosun and Steffen Sonnenschein.

Anh Vy

Anh Vy is one of the youngest Djs in the Saigon underground scene and one of The Observatory’s newest residents. He's recognised by the versatility and flexibility in music. He was one of the resident DJs of former Upper Saigon. As time goes by, he is making himself into an interesting and promising piece of Saigon’s underground scene as an artist and a contributor with his very own uniqueness.

Di Linh (HUM, Savage, Melting Pizza)

Di Linh is a young artist from Vietnam. Since she began the musical path, she has been making her mark by the diverse and colorful music selection. She is a part of Hanoi Underground Movement (HUM) and resident DJ at Savage. Till this day, Di Linh often plays in familiar places like Savage, Kobala, Smack Dab,... through local events HUM, Snug, SBD, This is, Guinguette, Unuzual and Quest, Duality, Recess, Studio Adventure, Epizode Festival. Besides, her name also appears the same night with well-known artists such as Lauer, Red Rack’em, Local Suicide, Haruka, Omer, Curses and many more around the world in Epizode. And the highlight of her music career was her performance in HUM Showcase (Epizode) with Marco Yanes, which also mentioned in the official review from Data Transmission. Each space gives her different inspirations, Di Linh is always looking and developing herself to give the audiences a fresh feeling, while still retaining her own unique color. She knows how to lead the audiences' emotions...

Janko (SRB/Hanoi)

Born in the early 90s in Belgrade - the city with a strong rave culture. He considers music as a very important and integral part of his life. Janko spent a great amount of time collecting old and new records - a collection of smooth and delicate electronic gems with no restriction for style, mood or era. He nurtures a sound that is both distinctive and abstract. His musical palette encompasses a wide range of genres, moving seamlessly through - house, breaks, electro or techno . His playful experimentation resonates with the positive expression of groovy and light elements. Board the musical spaceship and let it take you into the universe of sounds. Janko had the opportunity to perform in clubs and events all around Vietnam such as: Savage, The Observatory (HCMC), The Lighthouse (HCMC) , The Warehouse, Kobala, Birdcage;Festivals: Savage - Mai Chau Retreat Festival, Studio Adventure, Japonism (Da Nang) & Duality Festival.

Nic Ford

Nic Ford moved to Vietnam from the UK around 10 years ago, and has been running and featuring on lineups of parties throughout the region since then. He has been a resident of The Observatory since it first opened in 2013. Honing his skills since the mid-nineties, he held his first residency at Dry 201 in Manchester and is a voracious collector of a vast array of music. He’s also a highly acclaimed producer, being one half of MadderModes, a production outfit that has releases on a range of impressive labels including DRED, Voodoo Down Records and Millions of Moments.

Steffen Sonnenschein

Steffen is born and raised in east berlin, his first touches with the materia was thru his uncle , who worked in a club called "WM 66" at the end of the 90´s. He also started to produce and playing records in clubs back then, when Techno became the new revolution of berlin. Steffen is introverted and the Half of The Sexinvaders, but he’s also deeply focused on his very new project called after his real name : Steffen Sonnenschein. His tracks stand out, due to its saturated base complimented with matured deep beats. This transcendence between techno and deep house creates an individuating innovating style.

Incepted end 2012. New event promotor & music label in Playing & producing certain styles of underground dance music rarely heard in Saigon. Rooted in minimal, detroit / dub and deep techno. In babysteps Heart Beat is trying to build platform for styles of underground electronic dance music and other forms of art in the south Vietnam and connect with support the whole community promoting underground electronic music.
