With his determination and passion for music, Charles-Eddy Vitry (Mr. Pitiful) landed his first residency in 2001 at the era-defining Parisian nightclub: Les Bains Douches, quickly making a name for himself on the Paris club scene, followed by stints in New York, Montreal and Switzerland and Australia. With a perplexing ability to mix anything from rock ‘n’ roll to electro; soul to house; acid jazz to minimal tech, Mr Pitiful has played alongside international and local artists at venues and festivals including Strawberry Fields, 161, Revolver, Toff In Town, Railway Hotel, My Aeon, Lounge, Section 8, St Jerome’s, Third Class and Glamorama.

Acid chess club enjoys the soundscapes of anything smooth, jazzy and melodious, whilst also being attracted to dubby, breaky rugged rhythms, depending on time of day! Like any other, A.c.c’s hobbies include running a chess club at Good gnocchi on tuesday nights and smashing some keys with their band, San of the Rambutan on a wednesday. A.c.c. can be seen spinning a diverse range of records, such as new-wave jazz fusion, balearic, hip-hop funk, breaks and electro at Strawberry Fields Festival, Daydreams, Bunker, Nightcat, Sub club and Dr Morse to name a few.

The phenomenally talented Amadou Suso is a master of the kora, a traditional West African stringed instrument, and is also a direct descendent of the world’s first kora player, Koriang Musa Suso. As a music maker, or ‘jali’ by birthright, Amadou embodies the griot traditions of the Mandinka of West Africa. Known widely as the ‘Jimi Hendrix of the kora’, Amadou fulfils his ancestral duties to share the culture of his people through an intoxicating contemporary mastery of the African harp.

Melbourne artist DJ Smilez -- known for his curated sets and infectious vibe, has fans calling his unique experience "the Smilez effect". A local to the city of Melbourne, Australia – DJ Smilez has been recognized to have changed the path from a nightclub DJ to one of the most respected within the industry. He made a name for himself not only for his choice of music but for the energy he brings when playing – by championing a sound that blends Latin Rhythms, Brazilian Drums and Hip-Hop – otherwise known as the genre Baile Funk.

嶋田会希 – Elle Shimada is a violinist, producer, curator, DJ and multi-instrumentalist from Tokyo based in Melbourne. Fluidly fusing Tokyo’s futuristic underground sound with influences from London and Detroit House, Shimada’s production and live sets are a kinetic succession of dance beats and abstract compositions. Shimada has independently collaborated with a myriad of artists in Melbourne and overseas, performing and recording with Clever Austin, Paul Bender (Hiatus Kaiyote), Jace XL, Allysha Joy and Dufresne – music that can be found on releases by Worldwide FM and Stamp The Wax. With an undercurrent of feminism, cultural curiosity and a political mindset, Shimada’s musicianship been shown on stages supporting Lonnie Liston Smith, Giles Peterson and The Australian Art Orchestra.

FOURA (previously Lotus Moonchild) is Melbourne's dance music bench mark, confidently djing and producing a path through bass, electronic, garage, house and techno. FOURA’s ability as a selector for dancefloors has garnered the position as resident at Revolver Upstairs, Glamorama, Section 8 and Lucky Coq, all institutions within the city of Melbourne.

Hailing from Singapore, JPS move to Melbourne in 1999 opened up the world of Drum n Bass to him. Launching the successful Bassix, local parties with Blanco allowed him his first taste of promoting and secured his place as one of Melbourne’s most respected DJs. This led on to the establishment of Elementz, with Blanco and DJ Fletch, which is now one of Australia’s most successful DnB events teams. Bandleader Lachlan Mitchell (Laneous, Vulture St Tape Gang, Harry James Angus, Jazz Party) directs an ever changing lineup of musicians through an improvised jam using only a whiteboard and a pen, shifting and contorting the composition of each song in real time with the unpredictable brilliance of a mad scientist. Featuring a rotating cast of familiar names from stalwart projects such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Barney McAll and Sex On Toast, Uncomfortable Science have earnt themselves a cult status in the Melbourne music scene.

Walla C is a hip hop producer and DJ from Brazil now resident in Melbourne. His compositions are known for their signature percussive style, feature intricate synths and draw inspiration from jazz, funk, and Afro-Brazilian sounds. His Roland SP555 live beat sets are spontaneous and complex, combining originals with reworks of contemporary classics. His DJ sets are dynamic and rhythm-driven, as he weaves effortlessly between Afrobeat, trap, raw baile funk and tropical bass to ignite dancefloors.
