As a producer, musician, DJ and serial collaborator, Chris Schwarzwälders distinctive style of deep, restrained house is hard to pin down, but you’ll always know it’s him when you hear it. Born in Frankfurt am Main in the 80s, he started playing hiphop in the 90s. While making beats on his MPC2000, he dropped into Offenbach’s Robert Johnson club and fell in love with techno. In 2009, Chris moved to Berlin and started DJing at KaterHolzig, where he found a group of people who thought about music in the same way he did. In contrast to the trends of the late 00s, the sounds being made from this little paradise on Berlin’s river Spree were slower, softer, and more soulful than a lot of what was being played in clubs at the time. It was here that Chris began to cement his reputation as both a solo producer and collaborator, who was capable of bringing his trademark sounds to a whole number of side-projects - many of which have gone on to play to crowds around the globe. He joined the Feathered Sun collective in 2013, together with a group of friends including Acid Pauli, Nu, Jo.Ke and Raz O’Hara. Dreamy, groovy and often improvised, the collective represented a special kind of musical freedom in which a group of producers came together to create something new in a singular, live moment. At the same time, Chris’ friend Mira was making moves of her own, and they started to play back-to-back sets, soundtracking the legendary Monday mornings of KaterHolzig, and now, Kater Blau. ̸BIOGRAPHY As a producer, Marcus has been closely linked with Dixon and Âme’s Innervisions label and their unique brand of emotiveclub music for the entirety of his career. Friendship and a genuine interest in human interaction continue to inform all of his creative efforts. Those principles have led to collaborations with Peter Pardeike, Osunlade, Prins Thomas, Âme’s Frank Wiedemann, Daniel Bortz, Mr. White (of Larry Heard fame) and UK singer/songwriter Fink. Whether it’s original material or remixes for The xx, Tevo Howard & Tracy Thorne, UR’s Gerald Mitchell and labels like DFA or Running Back, Marcus’ tracks run the gamut from dancefloor-ready jams to the expansive ambience of Vermont, his production duo with Motor City Drum Ensemble that has brought forth two acclaimed LPs on Cologne institution Kompakt Records. His latest release with Innervisions, „Broad Horizons“ not only showcases his connection with house music, it also hints at his love of dub and reggae. This open minded approach to music is what makes Marcus Worgull succeed as a DJ who can perfectly read his audience, without losing his instinct for deep haunting grooves that feed his soul.

̸BIOGRAPHY Midland is a DJ, Producer and Record label owner from London. Through his productions, DJ sets and record labels, Midland's output comes across as unassuming and surprising in equal measure, at once subtle, refined and totally raucous. As a Producer Midland’s style has nimbly evolved from one record to the next. From his debut release with Pearson Sound (aka Ramadanman) “Your Words Matter” via “Trace” to his most recent EP “The Alchemy of Circumstance” he has explored a vast range of styles whilst managing to keep a core sound that is truly his own. In 2013 he started his label “Graded" to focus on releasing his own music, “Archive 01”, “Drumtrak” and “Blush” all followed. This was followed by the arrival of another label, ReGraded, in which he explored the art of sampling with “Double Feature” and culminating with the release of “Final Credits” a sleeper hit that went on to be voted Mixmags song of the year in 2016. His label InterGraded was launched in 2018 focussed on releasing music by new or emerging artists. He has remixed, amongst others, Dua Lipa, The Chemical Brothers, St Vincent and Darkstar. He helped with production on Jessie Wares “Save A Kiss” alongside James Ford. It is arguable however that he has made his biggest impact with the other side of his craft: DJing. Delivering his kaleidoscopic taste with a mixing technique that nods as much to his British lineage as it does to a smoother European style, he has distinguished himself with an ability to switch styles in a way that always feels totally natural. From the carpeted dance floors at Free Rotation, via regular slots at Berlin’s “Berghain” and “Panorama Bar”, Offenbachs’ “Robert Johnson”, Glastonbury’s “NYC Downlow”, San Francisco’s “Honey Soundsystem”, London’s “Fabric”, “Horse Meat Disco” and "Chapter 10" or any of his “All Night Long” sets at “Phonox” he is able to play in a way that shows a deep understanding of the space and what is needed to bring it alive. In the words of Resident Advisor “there’s a perfect record for every moment, and he usually has it”. His recorded mixes have become word of mouth favourites and in 2016 he won “Essential Mix of the Year” for his entry into the series. In 2017 he recorded “Fabriclive94”, described by Pitchfork as “one of the year's best” and earned compilation of the year from Mixmag who featured him as their first cover of 2018. Fact Magazine said of the mix "Quietly, and without much fanfare, Midland has grown into one of the world’s best DJs. Fabriclive 94 is a testament to what makes him so great”. Mira is that rare kind of DJ whose music can immediately transport you into her world - a midnight circus in Berlin, where time loses all definition and anything becomes possible. Born in East Germany to a renowned photographer and a classical musician, she began DJing in 1996 and quickly became part of the growing underground techno scene around Leipzig and Halle/Saale. Her dedication to her craft and natural talent swiftly paid off with a series of rapid successes, leading her to substantially shape the electronic music scene of Eastern Germany from that point on. In 2006, Mira moved to Berlin, Europe’s capital of electronic music, where she found her musical home at the legendary Bar25. Situated on the banks of the river Spree with parties that lasted into the middle of the week, Bar25 was the embodiment of Berlin’s club scene in the 2000s. In the company of notable artists such as Nu, Acid Pauli, Feathered Sun and Christopher Schwarzwälder, a musical language was being formed that looked past the minimal trends of the time towards a more nuanced, organic musical language.

Just visualise a metropolis blanketed in austere ruin, coloured by an ominous soundtrack with a heart of iron and stone. Such is the harsh dimension introduced by Muto Masashi, a name that’s bobbed along the surface of the Singaporean electronic scene for some time now. After years of cutting his teeth in the local DJ circuit, the Japanese selector has finally released Ishi, his debut EP that translates his imagination and influences into these dystopian musical fantasies.

After migrating to Sydney from his native Japan, Shigeki discovered his passion for house music when he hit the clubs on Sydney's famous Oxford Street scene in 1999. This experience was the catalyst for a sea-change and within a few short years was born one of the hottest stars on Sydney's club music scene after scoring weekly residencies at Sydney's legendary venues, Stonewall and Midnightshift. He established himself as a credible master of the decks week after week, and he was admired for his impeccable technical mixing and inspiring track choices. Shigeki soon graduated to larger-scale events as his unique, dynamic sound captured the hearts and attention of both local and interstate promoters. Before long, Shigeki had some of the Southern Hemisphere's biggest events under his belt: Sydney Mardi Gras Party, Sleaze Ball, Big Queer Nation, Harbour Party, Inquisition and Toybox to name but a few. IIn 2005, Shigeki made his international debut at Happy in Singapore; this spurred his subsequent relocation to the island nation three years later. Having relocated to one of Southeast Asia's nightlife hubs, Shigeki grew his international following: he has been a regular guest DJ for Atlantis Cruises and has spun in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Hong Kong, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei. In Singapore, he has graced the decks at Play, Rewind, House, The Vault, White Rabbit, Tanjong Beach Club, Stereolab, Privé, Velvet Underground and me@OUE. Shigeki played at KU DÉ TA Singapore as a resident from 2010 to 2012, which was followed by Kyō from 2013 to 2017. His current residencies include W Singapore Sentosa Cove and PS.Cafe ASH Park. Over his 15-year career, he has played alongside a wide spectrum of artists including Francois K, Miguel Migs, Kiko Navarro, The Carry Nation, Horse Meat Disco and Robert Owen. Shigeki's music styles are always soulful and groovy, and he plays a wide spectrum of genres; from deep and soulful house to tech house; from nu disco to classic disco and disco re-edits with playfulness. Outside of the DJ console, Shigeki compiles playlists for bars and restaurants, and edits music for theatre and event performances. He was also in the cast of The Hossan Leong Show in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and MediaCorp Suria's 90an Gerek! in 2010 and 2013.

Soft Crash is the collaborative project of Pablo Bozzi & Phase Fatale Soft Crash is the new music collaboration formed by Hayden Payne, aka Berghain resident Phase Fatale and Pablo Bozzi of Imperial Black Unit. Combining references such as William S. Burroughs and J.G. Ballard respectively, the project also functions to explore the fetishization of technology and the body and how the line between those is perpetually blurring. Increasingly, humans are reshaped and controlled by modern technology to an abysmal state; meanwhile, this technologically-made music can reinsert some emotion to try to bring back out a romantic sensibility and connection. Bozzi and Payne, both based in Berlin, have been at the top of the industrial techno and ebm circuit through the last several years and have shared the stage on numerous occasions in their respective projects. As well, Bozzi released his debut solo EP on Phase Fatale’s label BITE earlier this year. But their mutual love for music outside of that sphere is what brought them together to form this alliance. Attempting to throw off the dark and authoritative stereotypes of the current music scene they helped foster, Payne and Bozzi look to their core influences of synthwave, disco, and early techno to carve a new path as italo body music pioneers.

He burst onto the scene with his debut EP on Munich label Permanent Vacation, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem called his EP 'really nice, gentle and strong". Soon after he formed his own label Maeve Records with close friends Mano Le Tough, Baikal and Lil Dave. The label releases highly regarded electronic music, scoring some big records along the way. His talent as a DJ has allowed him to tour the world, playing at highly regarded venues as Berghain/Panorama Bar, Pacha, Space, Trouw, Robert Johnson and Coachella. He has also made respected entries to the Boiler Room and Beats In Space DJ mix series. He has become an in demand remixer over the years, showing a knack for putting his own spin on things. His love of music is not bound to genre, his radio shows and DJ mixes a case in point. His most recent EP Ultraviolet on Maeve Records comes with his own vocals on the lead track, another string to his musical bow. The EP has garnered plenty of attention thus far and with Summer tour dates, remixes and collaborations on the way, 2023 looks to be a banner year for The Drifter.

Amsterdam-based devotee Van Anh is a DJ pur sang with over a decade of experience to her name, making her the respected artist we get to enjoy today. Her love for digging, selecting, and mixing oozes through every vessel of her body. The name 'Van Anh', which translates to 'clouds', fits her way of mixing like a glove, allowing her to resonate with the sound waves of her liking. Very much like clouds, her sound takes on multiple shapes and forms, varying from deep ethereal ambient to hard, uncompromising techno. Never monolithic, what makes listening to Van Anh so enjoyable is the intricate way of combining all these sounds, bridging music from the past and the present.
