Born in the land of the rising sun and now based in the vibrant city-state of Singapore, Aya brings a diverse array of influences to her electrifying sets. Drawing inspiration from dark techno grooves, the gritty textures of industrial music, and the unbridled euphoria of the underground scene, Aya has crafted a sound that pushes the boundaries. Aya weaves an intricate tapestry of pounding rhythms, hypnotic melodies, and unexpected fun groovy beats, all fuelled by an infectious enthusiasm that keeps dance floors vibrating till the break of dawn.

Just visualise a metropolis blanketed in austere ruin, coloured by an ominous soundtrack with a heart of iron and stone. Such is the harsh dimension introduced by Muto Masashi, a name that’s bobbed along the surface of the Singaporean electronic scene for some time now. After years of cutting his teeth in the local DJ circuit, the Japanese selector has finally released Ishi, his debut EP that translates his imagination and influences into these dystopian musical fantasies.

Fast paced raw rhythms. Strongly shaped by the raw and forward-leaning sound of 90’s Techno, Milan based artist Alarico Zucchi started his journey into electronic music in 2015 making his way through clubs as a DJ while learning the art of music production. The inauguration of ‘Alarico’ occurred in 2019 after previously exploring several sub-genres of Techno. The alias was formed as a statement to showcase a style that was personal to him. Personal in a way that he became captivated within the patterns and structures of his own sound. Known for fast paced rhythms and kinky grooves he has released music consistently since his debut in 2020 on Joton’s imprint ‘Newrhytmic Records’. Shortly after he launched the vinyl imprint “Katana Records” which showcases the more nose-bleed and mental side of his idea of Techno. Also 2021 so far has been a prolific key year for Alarico. While the world fell seemingly more and more asleep, he continued honing his craft: His debut on Amsterdam based label ‘OOM Records’ was followed by an invitation to a highly acclaimed artists label, which is soon to be disclosed. The same goes for an upcoming remix. Alarico continues to position himself as a unique music lover, continuing to explore the depths and possibilities of sound. He stands for continuously pushing boundaries and stirring this attitude with his background of Hip Hop and Japanese culture.

Versatile Techno Both as a DJ and a producer, Patrick Gräser aka Answer Code Request has honed a hybrid musical approach that stands out in a world of uniform 4/4 techno. Melding pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks and an industrial sonic palette, Gräser has occupied a unique space within the Ostgut Ton cosmos since debuting on the label in 2012 and becoming a Berghain resident shortly thereafter. His various releases and remixes for Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe and Monkeytown Records continue to be highly sought after. Casey Anderson’s take on house and techno is based on his deep respect for dance music’s roots: Detroit techno, Soul Train funk, and cosmic German electronic music. Ignoring charts, trends and clichés, his DJ sets are playful and unpredictable. Casey is constantly connecting new dots between obscure, classic and futuristic 4/4 dance music without shying away from the unexpected 80s synthpop or a disco anthem at peak hour. In 2013 the American-born DJ released his first tracks on Italian label Opilec Music (alongside inspirations like Derrick May and Todd Terje) before joining fellow Hong Kong DJ Frederic Neve to launch Typhoon 8 Records where he has continued to release deep, dubby techno and house. With a djing journey of more than 15 years, Darker Than Wax co-founder Dean Chew is a highly respected dj, selector, radio host from South East Asia. Ever since the early formative years of immersing himself in raves and secret house parties during his uni years in Australia, Dean Chew aka Funk Bast*rd has been on the musical journey as for long as he can remember. He has cut his teeth playing in the legendary Zouk club / Velvet Underground in Singapore since the early 2010s and has grown a robust community around his Darker Than Wax parties and activations around the island. Together with co-founder Kaye, the duo have been tirelessly pushing and promoting an alternative expression of leftfield music through the label, as well as recruiting like-minded souls to join in their cause. Being the main A+R and creative mind behind DTW, the label has flourished tremendously over the past 5 years, cementing its place as one of the go-to labels out of South East Asia. DEEN may be a familiar face to many, starting first as a punter on the dance floor, before finding his way behind the decks to soundtrack many a hazy night at Headquarters and other events. A regular mainstay on the club’s programming, it was right in the cage at 66 Boat Quay where DEEN developed his brooding style of techno that is darkly affecting and strangely light all at once. It wasn’t long before DEEN was sharing the stage with some of dance music’s brightest stars of the moment, including the likes of Charlotte de Witte, Reka, and Fjaak to name just a few. If you’ve shared a night with the man himself, you’ll see how he can work the crowd into a hypnotic stomp with his sombre tones and introspective melodies, often taking the audience through a dizzying barrage of peaks and troughs, of tension and relief.

Finsent C is an artist native to Hong Kong, who has seen his sound evolve innumerably since his initial foray into DJing in 2009. Having been a drummer and member of a local band in his formative years, he eventually sought refuge in electronic music; cultivating a sound that can best be described as fluid, and with an emphasis on the hypnotic spectrum of techno. He perceives sets as flowing journeys, which requires time, and an element of patience to achieve. His music project - Cipher, is a metaphor for his musical direction and vision – 'experiencing' parties that verge on the ritualistic, to which point they have been described as otherworldly. Artists both locally and internationally continue to be invited to express their various forms of deep, experimental and meditative sounds.

With a background in hip hop, soul, and R&B, KMG has been building his eclectic collection for over a decade, since life in the states. In recent years, he has shifted his focus to dance music. This has seen him dive deeply into House and Acid as well as taking inspiration from a wide range of music and mixing influences. Those sets are a clear indicator of the depth, thought and time that it has taken to create such experiences, whether it is in or out of the club. Born and raised in Hong Kong, @fungicf aka Konnection initially got into music through band sound and switched his enthusiasm to electronic music in recent years. However, music has always been a consistent undercurrent throughout his life. TAKU HIRAYAMA (Junktion) Taku Hirayama, or simply known as Taku, is a Japanese DJ based in Asia. Exploring DJing at the turn of this century, Taku cultivated a wide range of music selection with many chances of musical meeting across the globe in past years. Leaving the shores of southern Japan, Taku relocated himself from Fukuoka to Hong Kong over a decade ago. There he launched his own platform "Junktion”. A venture for inviting credible names in the industry and like-minded artists, also exposing hidden talents to global audience.

UFO95 is an electronic music artist only performing live. In search of unknown sounds, UFO95 travels through different worlds and different eras. He finds his inspiration in the psychedelic rock from the 60s and 70s, and in the techno scene from the 90s or even the IDM scene, such as Aphex Twin... He also draws from the jungle and experimental scenes to propel a hypnotic, alienating and decidedly unique sound. Recently back in France, he confined himself out into the country side during the spring of 2020 and fired up UFO95, an Unidentified Fabulous Object of music.
